A close up view of each of these diseases would really be beneficial to this video.

Wow! No wonder I suck at growing tomatoes.. I get BLIGHT and leaf spot EVERY year. This year I'm trying a 6 ft tall string support to get them more off the ground. I also am going to try the peroxide spray..wish me luck! Thank you young lady.

@@Dennis-vr1ri So far so good! I have my first tomatoes on the glaciers I started in March from seed. also early girl, Rutgers, romas all have fruit. When I cut the grass I add the clippings under the base. I also use soda bottles stuck in the ground for watering. So far no blight which is a record for me...BUT...You never know.. Zoinks

@@lobstermania4025 That's great! I used peroxide last year along with other treatments with little luck if any. Early on the plants did fine ,I thought I was on to something but it turned into the same challenges as before. This year I've increased the ratio of peroxide along with some other experiments hopefully I'll have some luck this year....one thing I'm sure of so far the peroxide isn't enough to solve the problems with blight. Wishing you the best of luck🍅

@@Dennis-vr1ri Hey Dennis. I just got in from pruning up my tomatoes in the garden. I have 28 plants and today I just made sure they were pruned 1 ft off the ground and cut off suckers. They all look good thus far, its early yet but I feel really good about them.. In another bed I have romas which I have sprayed once with dexicon. ( I'm skipping the peroxide) I'll keep in touch as the season goes on . Happy Gardening!

I'm located in Eastern North and the first year of this airborne blight on my tomatoes. After confirming it as Septoria I'm removing most of the affected leaf branches and will spray treat with a copper fungicide
, as soon as the wind dies down.

I think some of my younger tomato plants have septoria and they have not even started to produce any fruit. (Well the fruits are still tiny). I assume the best would be to bin the plants? Thankful for answers :)

    • @FruitionSeeds

With a positive ID of septoria, remove all the affected leaves promptly & you should be able to harvest another 3-5 weeks of fruit! here's our blog that dives into WAY more detail! heart, p

I believe I have early blight. This is devastating news because my tomato plants have just really started to grow out. I’ve been treating it for the past week or so. So, I’m just going to wait for the last harvest before totally removing the plant I’m also going to barricade it from the rest of the plants. Sad news :(

how does one hot water treat seeds for early blight?
btw one fellow recommends NaHCO3 solution (one oz of bicarb & one of veg. oil in a gallon of water) as a treatment for early blight - does his work? claiming that bicarb is basic & the high pH kills the blight fungus? i have seeds creating san marzano with Juliettes and i don't want to trash them; they have the best qualities of both.
i also think i might have gotten the blight from the seed seller to begin with. so ... should i be able to kill the seed blight in a basic solution - say Ammonia? thx!!!

They're fine to eat, as in they won't hurt you, they just are increasingly less delicious as the plant struggles more and more --- the below comment is not at all my experience, though we all have our unique and true truths :) Thanks for asking!

Space the plants out... I plant 4 feet between plants and 5 feet between Rows... The plants need to have air space to help them dry out in the morning... As you see all her plants are Diseased... She has planted a wall of tomatoes down her row... Now way for good air flow... That's her main problem... If she fixes that she to can grow tomatoes... I've been growing 1000's of tomatoes for 50+ years...
