The tip that i noticed a considerable difference with was the covering of soil. Once u do that then the sprays n pruning helped keep the blight at bay. U may still have it but quite reduced. Then propagation to bring up those plant #s again😁
Daconil spray works good. Sold at Lowes. Regardless what you spray Daconil or baking soda its best to spray when the plants are still healthy. Also pick plants that grow good in your region. Your county extension will tell you if look them up.
Some hot tomato tips / thanks.. Baking soda can be used for so many other things too. "Iodine" also, its the antibiotic that "never spoils" for us humans and NO types of fungus bacteria virus ect can become immune to it, tried and true Iodine...

I am new to tomatoe growing. 3 different varieties, cherry, plum and beef. Tomatoes have just started swelling nicely and blight has kicked in! I removed the affected leaves. And it seems to have slowed right down. But the odd leaf here and there seems to be turning Blighty again. I will keep pruning and hope for the best. I was hoping for at least 50kg of tomatoes, after all I have invested about £100 in this project.

So far, I have 3 plants with no blight. They are in part sun conditions. Two in the ground and one in a pot. All other ones were full sun and almost totally dead. Note to everyone: do not compost those leaves or infected tomato plants! Put them in the trash!
@@TheAdhdGardener Update - lost all the tomato plants that were in the ground and one that was in a pot. Others in pots suffering horribly but still alive. Lately I have been cooking potting soil.
Hope you can help. Tomatoes caught blight this year, just as I thought they were doing well. Have cut them down, but in the hope of salvaging something from the disaster: can the seeds be saved and used next year, or would the blight survive in them to break out again ? Web searches failed to answer this for me. Thanks
@@TheAdhdGardener No chance of using the same spot for the same family of plants next year. In fact I'm considering giving the tomatoes and potatoes a miss for a year and choosing a different spot when I next plant them. But I was keen to not have wasted all the effort this year.
@@WideCuriosity same. My back yard is all blight after the years plus this humid weather here in PA. I'm thinking of going hydro for tomatoes. I started experimenting already with the kratky but def expanding it. I didn't notice any blight on them
@@TheAdhdGardenertry the small black plastic pond containers of lowes or Home Depot. They are 20-25 gallon containers for about $25.00. They have helped greatly to reduce blight in my garden.
I already lost one section of my tomatoes from blight. And the survivors are looking like they are struggling too. This came right on time.

just use copper oxychloride fungicide, 2 times i 10 days
How often would you spray with baking soda?
I'd spray quite frequently like every 2-3days etc. Monitor your plant to see how each post spray does

I live in central PA, and i hear ya! I heard aspirin and baking soda sprayed onto the leaves helps to fight blight.

Oooo good question! I wanna say no however if u plant tomatoes in the same spot next year you'll get it again. Blight is sssoooo hard to get rid of
