But seriously, I think you've got the situation nailed. EA will weather the storm while the rest of the industry is willing to let them be the bullet sponge until politicians hash out the gambling regulations.
My prediction is that there will be regulations and a regulatory entity formed. That entity will be filled with people ready and willing to give pubs a pass, for a price. EA will then be able to honestly say making games costs more because they'll have to leave room in the budget for bribes and payoffs.

I'd say it's only 'good' because there is nothing better. The level design is boring and there are way too many simple and boring enemies to fight all the time. The combat is meh. Though I will say I enjoy the cutscenes and the story is somewhat interesting.

For those supporting microtranscations or who think buying a little here or there or worse, a lot will not affect nor change much. Take this into consideration. Put yourself in a publisher/developer's shoes. You are making a game and it cost a good amount of money to make. You know you will sell a lot and break well above even easily. But incase you do not, or just for the extra cash you decide to implement MC's. Because they barely cost anything and you know you have nothing to lose with doing so, only very much to gain.
You look at other developers who have made a ton of cash doing so (GTA V 1 billion +) and you want in as well. You know most people will buy it, so you say why not. There will not be any backlash either you assume, as is the usual case amongst the majority. Only recently did a massive outlash occur and if you were watching that, you paid close attention on how to avoid that happening to your company and try it out another way. And those who do not support it will just ignore it and buy the game anyways. Or they won't but their loss will be barely recognizable. Do you see how this perpetuates the cycle? But if you say no, do not buy any, or do not even buy the game on a mass level, do you think they will waste their time on adding it in? No they will not. It would go away. But since this is not likely to happen, they will be here to stay sadly. And going after one company or two and avoiding the rest is not the way to go about it either. All are to blame who implement these practices which is most AAA developers/publishers. And the consumer who purchases these implementations is just as much to blame. They should know better.
The issue is that the gaming community is divided, as is mankind. As many say no and despise these practices, there are too many out there who are apathetic and do not care, or they may believe it is acceptable. Or even worse they love this and buy as much as they can. They (developers/publishers) are not worried about a minorities' backlash, only if they achieve the majorities' appreciation or avoid their backlash, which dramatically affect their sales for good or for worse. And they know who is buying it by the amount of money coming in.

There's a saying in the IT field, "Work for a big company and wait until you get fired or work for small company and hope you don't get fired." In other words when you apply for a big company like EA getting in is easy but you'll eventually get laid off so don't bother putting in lots of effort in your job cause it won't last much longer or work your ass off for a small company and you'll be less likely to get laid off for no reason.
Simply put, these developers jobs are like revolving doors in big companies and they could care less about games they are making.

Finally downloaded battlefront 2 cause it was free for PlayStation Plus. I can't find loot boxes anymore, and I'm pretty happy.

Yeah, with all those Variants of Storm Troopers and what not, there is a easy time to add Cosmetics. Cosmetics for Characters(and Luke Skywalker as well as Leya had allot different Costumes in the movies)as well as Cosmetics for Weapons ... are there.

The graphics are the same too. UFC 3 might be a little less detailed; more, cartoony? Anyway, I played Madden until this year, and UFC (I didn’t buy 2 or 3), I have copies of both in a drawer next to my desk, along with a disc copy of DA:Origins, FO: New Vegas, ME:2, Morrowind, FO:3 and a couple expansions, just in case I feel like being crazy and popping a disc into my PC (or X-Box for Madden and UFC).
Anyway, EA blows, the UFC game looks the same at best, worse in some cases, and some gamers play sports games along with the Planescape: Torments of the world.
I didn’t buy Madden this year as after ME: A I’d fricken had it with EA. Plus, besides the roster, the game hasn’t changed graphics wise since 2014.
