I love that you break down what happens with the matches afterward. Got my first 1k damage match during yesterday’s Streamer Hunt, and I’m putting that down to your videos making me more conscious about how I play matches. Thanks heaps Bara, keep the good stuff coming.
Here's a little tip for hot poptart builds: Take a single Heat Shielding node at the top of the Jump Jet Tree. It has great value for just a single point! You will go from heat neutral when jumping to cooling down almost as fast when you are on the ground. I just tried this the other week, and have been doing it ever since. Makes poptarting a LOT cooler.

Just because a mech is open doesn't mean it's a one shot. Unless a mech is cherry I don't call one shot. If it's open I call it as open and the location it is open. I understand this is more difficult when you are commenting but at the same time it does make a difference if a pilot thinks a mech is truly one shot :D I really thought you were going to lose that first game because the enemy were closing on your backs and the team wasn't finishing the mechs in front of them quickly enough. You all did it in the end though. Match two came down to not finishing damaged mechs but then again there wasn't much calling going on. Both exciting games though. Thank you for sharing :D
I know you hate streaks, but I want to see a streak 24 KTO-18. Strip the right arm and take an XL 280, BAP, TAG, AMS, and 12 heat sinks. Full UAV, survival, and range skills, skipping missile spread. Eat the ghost eat most of the time, prioritizing lights and fast meds and amping damage. It's tanky and fast and one-shotting 20 tonners is super satisfying, and it does crazy damage.
I love the LRM Huntsman! I use 3xLRM10s with Artemis and med lasers, but still a favorite! I'd love to see what you can do wit the Cougar C (H head for ECM) with a UAC20 - I haven't found a consistently successful way to play mine...
Too many "All Stars" ! Baradul, TTB, Sean Lang, PUTIN (even if we haven't seen him in a while), almost anyone serious from NGNG (No Guts No Galaxy) and I'm sure that there are other worthy inclusions too numerous to count!
Bara, TAG does counter ECM, but it no longer speeds up target acquisition. mwomercs.com/news/2019/03/2251-patch-notes-141980-19mar2019 "TAG Changes: Weapon Lock-on speed booster removed Targets that are being painted by TAG are treated as if they are in direct LOS for the purposes of Weapon Lock-On time and Missile spread." Of course, if you are applying TAG, you are already in LOS, and therefore gain no LOS or missile spread improvements. I run a BAP/CAP to counter ECM and gain its other advantages, as well.
Mobility trumps overwhelming firepower in a messy game. This is a great chassis. The slow monsters are fun when you can actually get a firing line, but how often does that really happen?
I just did a comeback 8-11 with a kitfox purifier doing 986 dmg and 5 kills sniping from the tower of tourmaline desert :D probably my most exciting Game in this year. My build: 2 ErLL 2 Heavy SL 2MG
So, out of curiosity, does the artemis clustering effect apply to indirect fire on a NARC'd target? Because the NARC beacon causes indirectly fired LRM's to cluster as if they were direct fired IIRC.
@@Adzakorrahn It's a tradeoff. NARCed targets may not get the clustering bonus, but on the other hand you have a rock-solid lock to launch on so while each salvo may be more scattered, you're also not losing any to intermittent lock failures behind cover.
5/5 except for not getting a written hall pass from Evildead. (he had 2 kill, 500+ damage and was probably taking a spoonful of neglected cereal.... but STILL)
There's so many assaults because no one trusts the matchmaker anymore. Why take a medium when the matchmaker will match you up against an assault anyway?
If I wanted to play just a couple of times per week, and was willing to buy a couple of good mechs for money to do so, what would the approximate initial investment would be and what would I expect to pay per week going forward? If a couple of folks who play frequently would offer an opinion, I would appreciate it.
Really depends on what you want to play and how much you're willing to spend (as heavier mechs are more expensive). It would be better to think of 'how much per mech' rather than 'how much per week'. That said, if you specifically want good value hero mechs (the only mechs worth dropping real money on, get everything else for C-bills). In the light category (though imo Lights aren't the best unless you really know what you're doing) Arctic Wolf Shard and Wolfhound Grinner are strong contenders for best lights in the game. For mediums the Huntsman Pakhet is great and flexible. As for heavies, the Quickdraw IV-4 gets a lot of praise (though I'd strongly recommend a Dervish to test the playstyle, Baradul did a video on it a few weeks ago). Other good value heavies include the Rifleman Legend Killer, Ebon Jaguar Espirit de Corps and Warhammer Black Widow. As for Assaults, the MadCat Deathstrike and Cyclops Sleipnir are very strong picks. That said, you can get decent mechs that will perform well in every weight class for C-Bills too. Imo the 'best' picks for real money are the Shard and Grinner, as they both great and their slots are harder to sub C-Bill mechs into (but it's only worth it if you like Light gameplay).
@@efffvss After watching hours and hours of video and spending quite a bit of time in the academy I am leaning toward starting with a Black widow and then adding additional mechs as I master them unless a really good sale comes up. That being said, what does premium play time typically run? And thank you for the opinion.
@@genetyler3156 Premium Time is less 'necessary' than in some other free to play games (especially the Wargaming titles like World of Tanks) it'll get you c-bills and xp faster, but you're not going to cripple your progression playing without. But you could also pay like 1 or 2 (all in the in game premium currency 'MC', which is why I'm estimating) for a single day when you're to play a bunch.
geegee man !! what about the night gyr LRM with two large lasers in the center ? :) i get 1000 dmg easy and im not even that good lolll im tier 5 xD i wonder how much dmg YOU can get out of it.
