Thank you so much hand much good wishes to you! I apologize for the delay in response! I missed this comment somehow! Thank you for watching and commenting!!!
Oh that sounds so beautiful! I can't wait to read it now more than ever! Thank you for letting me know that, and for watching, subscribing, and commenting!! It means so much to me!! 🦢🤍
What a wonderful video! I’ll for sure be following your channel. I’m from Maine (living in FL), I follow Miranda Mills, and I’m headed to Orchard House in 2 weeks!
Hi Hannah!! Welcome! Wow it is so nice to meet a fellow Mainer- my in-laws live in Florida so we have that connection too! You will love Concord! I made a video on my favorite spots - just in case you have not seen it. Some great bookstores there! Thank you so much for your lovely comment!!!💞
We are having similar weather here in NY lol. Spring-Winter as we like to call it. :D Those seed packets are so beautiful! I'll have to check out their website as I have a lot of gardeners in the family. That's the prettiest version of A Secret Garden I've seen! I also love that version of Stardust..those painted edges! Those Agatha Christie editions are so pretty! Bibliophile, wow! I'm drooling over everything in this video. This is an amazing haul! I hope you have a great time in Italy with your mom and family! :)
Hi Farrah! Yes I had the idea that the seed packets make great gift adornments or stocking stuffers or just inserts with thank you cards- I sent my stepmom their Teddy Bear Sunflowers seed packet with just that idea! Thank you for the lovely comments!!! I'm so glad you enjoyed it!!!💞
Hi!!! Thank you so much for watching and for your lovely comments!!! I am so happy with Around the World in 80 trees!!! I also want to get the birds but it is a different author/illustrator team. Have you read the birds one?
Goodness, Heather! You have me salivating over those Beautiful Editions!!❣️ I agree about Miranda being the one to keep my heart in palpitations 💗 I’ve bookmarked this video so I can come back and research the publishers, illustrators and seed company! (We just had a snow & hailstorm) I’ve wanted the Bibliophile books for awhile. I also have around the world in 80 trees, birds, & walks on my wishlist! I loved the beauty and beast tv series you mentioned! I haven’t seen it thought of it in years! I just read Hero and the Crown during Middle Grade March! (because you recommended it)!
Hi Deea! We are actually finally having some sunshine today but I hear we are about to have some more weather soon! I'm nervous because it is right when my Mom flies in. Oh my goodness yes! Miranda's book choices and all those books in the UK are just so lovely! Stay safe through your bad weather! 💞
So many beautiful books! I love your idea of making one big Blackwell’s purchase a year. I may do that after my birthday in October. And enjoy Tenant of Wildfell Hall. It is wonderful!
Oops one more thought or two: I’m also collecting the Illustrated Junior Library Editions and just TODAY(!) ordered the three Anne of Green Gables books. Including Anne of Avonlea. ❤ Great minds think alike. It’s amazing to think of how when we were little those books were 2 or 3 dollars at the bookstore. Regarding Annie, it started with the comic strip in the 1920’s, maybe?
Oh you may be right about Annie because now that I think on it I remember something about the comic strip. My focus was just in how the book fit into it. Oh that is amazing! I actually received the Illustrated Junior Library edition of Pinocchio today. Thought I might gather two or three to lug with us to Italy to photograph in Florence, or, if we can get there, Collodi even better! The Anne of Green Gables was illustrated by someone who is now a paleo-artist (illustrates dinosaurs). I actually sent him an email to confirm and he wrote me back! My son was very excited to hear that!
I've had that Bibliophile book out from the library. Such a beautiful book. It's a shame the Piper chapter is so often missing from Wind in the Willows editions. I love it, I remember loving it as a child too.
Yes it is rather very beautiful! Because I do most of my reading in the early morning hours, I had the experience a few years ago of reading it while the most beautiful sunrise was coming through the window. It was magic! Thank you so much for your lovely comment and for watching!!!🌷
I read The Swifts and The Tenant of Wildfell Hall last year, and loved both of them. Very different books, but both good. I really like those seed packets - will have to check them out.
Happy Easter Heather. What a beautiful haul of books. I too enjoy Miranda and have just read The Secret Garden for the first time. I am slightly worried though as I found the story dark and sad, although I realise the ending is positive and the garden is a delight. However, the children's lives prior to this seems to overtake everything else. Do I have a problem oh dear! 🤔😊
Oh no you certainly don't have a problem at all! It definitely has sad and dark elements. When we read it, it was right when the pandemic was ending, and so really struck a chord with my son, as well as with me. Everyone has their different levels of sensitivity and taste too, and what works for one person may not work for another, even with classics!!! Thank you so much for watching and commenting!!! Have a lovely Monday!🌷
What a beautiful video as always. Your spring weather looks very cold but beautiful. ❄️ I love the Burgess nature books. Oh my goodness the illustrated Little Women! Amazing! I would love to see The Secret Garden if you get it. I feel like you are the American Miranda Mills. 😊
Thank you! I am sooooo looking forward to being in Italy in a few days! Yeah you are the second person who has sad that and it's both a compliment and a concern because I am actually just myself! Two years ago I showed my sister-in-law one of Miranda's videos and she laughed and said "she's just like you!" So I guess we are just similar naturally oh well. I am so glad you enjoyed this video and thank you for watching!
@@WaterBearReads You are definitely your own unique self! I think it’s that you both enjoy and exhibit beauty of your surroundings and books in a unique way.
Hi Heather! I just finished my Easter preparations and housework so I decided to take a break and savor your lovely video. So much to love! First, I think we have the exact same weather here in Western New York as you have in Maine. Recent pseudo Spring, then a snow storm and then a slight thaw with daffodils. I read Thornton Burgess as a little girl and had Chatterer the Squirrel, Jimmy Skunk and Sammy Jay on my bed stand at our summer cottage on Lake Ontario. ❤ How interesting growing up in Africa! Which country?
Hi Celeste! Thank you for watching!! Well, if only we had daffodils! It would be easier! Ha ha! All of those Thornton Burgess characters make an appearance in the Bird Book! That sounds so cute! In South Africa ! Happy Easter!
@@WaterBearReads South Africa! Sometime in a vlog I will share the celebration of South Africa I put together for Nazareth College. Would love to hear your remembrance of living there. I have another friend who grew up there as well, and also chose South Africa as my area of interest in Grad school when I was getting an MS in ESL.
Celeste that is awesome! At some point (I dont feel ready for it yet) I want to put together a book list of South African classics! What a cool connection! @@areadersalmanacwithceleste1366
@@WaterBearReads When you mentioned safaris I was wondering: do you watch the channel WIldearth (here on YT or the WE website)? If not, I'd highly recommend the interactive live safaris and their other content. Another of my favourite channels is Explore Africa, and especially the weekly show Wild Moments. Thank you for showing the Burgess Bird Book! I added it to my wishlist although I'm not the intended audience, but loved non-fiction books about animals as a child and still do.
Hi!!! And Welcome!!! oooh I will check those out! It is sometimes hard for me to watch things on Africa because I get really homesick for it. But other times I crave the sights and sounds of that beautiful place@@28bruch 💞.
Oh I just realized that I somehow missed this message! Sorry about that! I may have to go back there! Thank you for commenting and for watching my channel!!!
I loved the Thorten Burgess books as a child.

Hi Heather! Still waiting for spring here in the mountains too! Went skiing last weekend. At least it’s good reading weather. 📚 Mmm maple syrup! 🤤
