Your affection for the people of Italy makes me feel so proud of my Italian heritage. My father was born here in the USA, but his parents and older brothers and sisters immigrated to America through Ellis Island. They were the most friendly, generous and loving relatives I could have asked for. Thank you for reminding me of them.☺️

Italians really are so great! I just read a quote in "My Italian Bulldozer" that referenced the good nature of the Italian people. Loved, loved, loved everyone we met! You are so lucky to be of Italian heritage - so special! I am so happy I was able to remind your relatives!! Have a lovely weekend!🌷

Oooo! I like the Myhologies books by Balit.
Love the Vivaldi story! I must look into that one as well.
Aaaand Davinci's Cat! 😂 My TBR always grows when I watch your wrap ups.
I actually have a nonfiction by Wharton - It's called Abroad and is mainly journals from her Italy travels! I picked it up because Emma from Bookish Princess mentioned that although she loves Wharton's writing she doesn't love her subject matter or characters, which is why she gravitates to her nonfiction. I feel the same so I had to give her nonfiction a go. I'm going to read it this summer!
    Welcome Home,
    & Happy Mother's Day weekend.💞

Roman Fever was my very first and so far only Wharton! But I really loved the unexpected angle that popped up at the last. I want to read more of her short stories. But I can also see myself getting into her non-fiction. Just from that one short story I can understand why her work might not be for everyone. I would love to read those journals! Thank you so much for watching!! Happy Mother's Day weekend to you too!

Roman fever is a favorite --and so glad you enjoyed it so much! Also an interesting Mother's Day read. Thanks for sharing your Italy reading list with us. It's interesting to choose whether you're going to read things that pertain to the country, to the season, etc. or if you're just going to read spontaneously. Both have their merits! Have never read Pinocchio before; and loved your various versions. 😊

Luckily enough, A Room with a View set out in the spring! So got lucky there! I think Daisy Miller had parts too occurring in the spring, if I'm remembering correctly. I cannot wait to read more of those short stories from 'Roman Fever' collection. Do you recommend any particular one next? Have a lovely Mother's Day weekend Celeste!🌷

@@WaterBearReads I really like her ghost stories, although they aren’t actually scary and don’t have a strong plot. They are more atmospheric than anything else. Like little gothic slice of life stories. Thanks, Happy Mother’s Day to you as well!

Hi Hannah! I am so happy that you enjoy these videos! I can tell you that he is in Elementary school, but his exact age I'd rather keep vague for his protection - BookTube and most of the people who comment including yourself are wonderful people and it would be normal course of conversation if you and I were having a chat. But I never know who reads these messages! I have a family member who has recently had some very interesting experiences online, so I've grown wary in that way a little. I hope all that makes sense! 💕

Have you read The Reading Promise (Alice Ozma) about a dad (elementary school librarian) and his 4th grade daughter who decide to read aloud together for 100 consecutive nights; they went on for 8 years.
