Seiken Densetsu 3 {Final Boss} Belgar, the Masked Mage/Dark Lich

Belgar, the Priest of Darkness or Masked Mage, the Dark Lich how he prefers to be called now will be your last opponent if your first pick was either Carlie or Kevin.
Hinted by the game to be the weakest of the three major villains he still packs quite a challenge and can hand your head in a silver plate if you fight him unprepared.
At the start of the battle he will only spam Dark Force on one of your characters, but soon he will start blowing stronger spells, Hell Cross is a glaring example, but Kamen no Doushi, er, Dark Lich seems to like to use Poison Bubble a little too much.
Dark Lich also has two strong physical attacks, one is a hand claw thing and the other a rising... Sphere thing, looks silly and lame but hurts as much as the hand.
The main reason he is considered a joke as final boss compared to the other two is not only his lack of total party annihilation attacks unlike Archdemon or Dragon Emperor, but also he will very rarely do anything to lower your status and give you anything else than Poison.
There are few things you must be careful, though, Death Ecstasy can easily kill your entire party if you aren't careful and keep you HP lower than 300~400. He CAN use Ancient which deals even more damage than Death Ecstasy so it's always a good idea keep your HP above 450 until he blasts it, he will very rarely, if ever, use it a second time.
Dark Lich's weaknesses varies according to the background screen with the very first being Light, the Watery one I don't recall and the desert looking Darkness (irony, ho).

Carlie - Bishop [Light + Light]
Kevin - Death Hand [Dark + Light]
Duran - Duelist [Dark + Dark]

I think also what makes him really easy is that he's susceptible to (Bishop)Carlie's spell, Turn Undead, which always deals cap damage to all undead type enemies, and it uses only 1 MP! Given she's at a higher (or equal) level to the Dark LIch, she can always fire these off at him rather easily.

I think very first is darkness(weak against light), the watery is water (weak against fire) and the desert is light (weak against dark).

If that's the case, then the Dragon Emperor is reminiscent of the Mana Beast. I agree with you on that one. Anybody here take on the Dragon Emperor like I did?

Everytime 50% HP is gone. Even Dragon Emperor, Archdemon and here with Dark Lich. The music always change.

Yes, but they are not the same. I mean, Lich is, but Thanatos and Belgar are completely different characters, in different times.
Happens the Lich is a normal enemy class in Seiken Densetsu series, like dragons, demons and others.
Thanatos was just a receptacle of Dark Lich, his never was "The" Dark Lich.
Like Belgar in Seiken Densetsu 3.
In Secret of Mana, Dark Lich try to do with Dyluck too, but he fails.

If you use L and R you can switch to the others characters from your party.
Use Heal Light of Carlie, press L and use Dark Saber of Duran, press R and use another ability of Kevin, for exemple.
