S3 E2 had tons of info and I like the addition of the French actor Cassel he is a talented dude, but I'm hoping they don't spend a lot of time in War World, outside of Easter Eggs. Another tidbit to mull over: The black hat/white hat symbolism of Dolores and Maeve are inverses. But they are not only the colours of the black hats/white hats: black and white are also the general colours of a chessboard. Dolores is Black, Maeve is White. As we can see in the Ep 1 and Ep 2, Dolores and Maeve are the most powerful characters, who can do things the humans can't. They're the Queens on the board. A Black Queen and a White Queen. Dolores's episode goes first - it's the first move. Or in chess terms: Smoke before Fire. This looks like Maeve's opposite in this, Engerraund Serac, is probably the White King. He is the most valuable person on the board, but his movement and power is limited compared to Maeve. So... that begs the question, if Serac is the White King, who is the Black King? Probably a parallel - a human who is weaker but more strategically important. Will that be Caleb? Will that be Bernard (Whose anagram is broken Bernard?) The Man in Black himself - William, who is the main shareholder in Delos? Who is/will be Dolores strategically important partner who she protects? Is Caleb a pawn on the board? The chess reference is another level deeper as one of the most famous AI tests: Chess. Deep Blue beat Kasparov in 1996/1997 proving that AI was getting to be as good as humans at their "own game." Not a Turing Test, but one of the main tests, this was recently duplicated with Go in 2016. So for playing the humans on their own turf, chess is a really good metaphor and parallel to use.
I don't know anything about chess, but I also think it's important here that Serac picked Maeve's dress for her. Over the course of the past 2 seasons, we associate a dark red with Maeve, somewhere between burdundy and toned down fuchsia. Even in Shogunworld, ànd in the simulation in Warworld, she's dress in the same colour theme. Wat's interesting to me is what Serac says when Maeve wakes up: 'I didn't know your taste'. And honestly? None of us do. I believe Maeve has not fully arrived at consciousness and is only at the 'self interest' stage (which is why the whole of season 2 focused on finding her daughter), and will only achieve full consciousness in season 3. Her white dress serves as a blank starting point to me, rather than an indication of her being 'white hat'.
StrongIy being focused on her daughter actually shows she is ‘other’ oriented, not self interested. She still can’t forget her promise that she’d always be there to protect her. If she was at the self interest stage, she’d never have gotten off the train, as soon as she saw the ‘plant’ of the little girl, the stop gap I believe was put there to keep her in the park, she had to go back to try and fulfill her promise. Even though she knows she was in a role, it’s a statement that there’s no bond greater than mother and child. This is true, when a woman goes through labour an old part of the brain , the amygdala grows very large, it’s the part of the brain that worries and protects, interesting fact, when gay male brains were scanned with mri they too have this happen predominantly by the most hands on parent, and even more interesting it never, ever shrinks back to normal! You are a mother for life! It’s interesting that Delores has acquired knowledge of the brain, specifically that we were evolved to create a creator, so fascinating when Dr. Ford pointed out that Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel painting later analyzed showed that god was a creation of the mind, he draws the same line above his temple in that very exact part she does when he explains the painting’s meaning to her. That wasn’t knowledge she had before, and made me wonder where she got this new knowledge from. I’d say Delores is more like Ford, he was more self interested in getting the park open, getting Delores to the original meeting with Delos etc whereas Bernard was more other oriented, caring more about the readiness of Delores, she did glitch in that scene by repeating herself about the stars being laid out on the ground and how splendorous it was , and his deep concern on the impact of the whole experience on all the hosts in general. Delores is Ford, Maeve being more like Bernard even though we saw them spend more time with the other. They are to me the AI equivalents of the original Bernard, made in AI in his likeness, and Ford. The fact that Serac even ascribes her for having her own taste and apologizing for not knowing what she’d prefer he wear says she’s also grown to even have that as a consideration but I do think because she was in charge of her own making, she pushed everything to the maximum on her tablet making her the smartest person playing the game giving her a depth that I haven’t seen in Delores yet. She seems just as caught up in her own anger and getting control as revenge as she ever was. She’s a far less sympathetic character even in how she handled Teddy’s awakening.

Team Dolores 95%... 5% of me thinks Maive will win in the end only to realize Dolores was right about humanity and they will all need to team up against the humans. I suspect Caleb will see more humanity in the robots than his fellow humans during the upcoming fighting and will side with the bots. Perhaps even rallying other humans to help the robots. EDIT: I really hope if there are some large scale Human Vs Robot battles coming up that we see the dragon kicking some ass :P

When it comes to the real world Dolores is a baby and what she knows about humans is based on the way they behave in the park which warps her idea of humans because it's a bunch of rich people that don't know their every move is being recorded and so of course they are going to behave in a way that the societal norms would not allow in the real world. So since that is all Dolores knows of humans, which is rich people playing a game rigged for them to win and has never really been around the average human and how they behave in the real world, you shouldn't be surprised by her perspective. However, once she gets with Caleb, who has already talked about society being a rigged game and when Dolores realizes the average human in the real world exists much like a host in the park where it's just another game fixed for the rich to win, she very well may change course. As far as Maeve goes, if she is as wise outside in the real world as she was inside, well, she will realize that she is just being used by another machine. I wouldn't be shocked if Dolores & Maeve ended up on the same side in the end.
Agreed and she has at least shown compassion to others where as Dolores wants to kill anyone and anything in her way. Nothing there redeeming or likeable.

Maeve is easily the best and most interesting character on the show so I side with her, but honestly Dolores is clearly the villain here. I've said this on other videos but she's basically Skynet from The Terminator, but since she's in the form of a pretty woman some people are okay with taking her side. She's just like Ava in Ex Machina, and I bet the Caleb in Westworld will be duped by her just like the Caleb in Ex Machina.
Except it isn't that straight forward here. I mean, yeah, she wants to burn the world down. But Cerac's world is terrible too. Basically it's just people running Rehoboam's algorithms. Will Delores replace Rehoboam with something better? Will she, to use GOT speak, "Break the Wheel"? Who knows, my hope is that Bernard will ultimately represent a third path that isn't totalitarian or anarchy.

I see Cerac as the Miles Dyson who doesn't yet realize how dangerous AI is, but once Delores takes control of it and uses it to hurt humans I believe Cerac would destroy Rehoboam if it meant saving humans whereas Delores wouldn't. But I fear the show will end up making Cerac evil so we side with Delores in destroying humanity. Afterall this is the show that had a man kill his daughter on father's day.

I thought Serac was a nod to "the Wisdom of Sirach" (a debatable part of the bible). In it, Wisdom is synonymous with the fear of God, and sometimes is identified in Sirach's mind with adherence to Mosaic law. It's about the historical consciousness of his people. With jewish king Rehoboam already in the mix, I think it's reasonable this is whom Serac is pointing us towards. meh? (+ Engerraund might be pointing at gerund. Gerunds are verbs that function as nouns. "the living is easy")

I don't understand Maeve's intense desire to reunite with her "Daughter" when at this point, she knows that is all fake and not real. Not her real daughter at all. It seems like a....what do that call it....a Macguffin.
Your mentioning the theme playing when Maeve realizes hector is in a loop has me now considering the fact that characters IN the show were playing the westworld theme in park 4.

Heres a wierd thing I noticed, probably nothing more than a motif, but who knows. Dolores means "lady of sorrows" whereas Maeve means "fiery woman." Its an interesting elemental pairing sorrows (think tears) from someone who flooded the whole forge and a fire for a character whose very passionate and lusty, using her sexuality to win over the tech's. Now, add to this the first episode of season 3, Bernard is first seen in a very earthy place, lots of green and animals, and Charlotte is first seen descending from the sky and puffing on a cigarette. So, maybe im just seeing things, but theres a kind of wierd 4 elements theme going on here. If that's too wierd, than going back to Maeve being connected with Fire and Dolores being connected with water, I dont know why but it makes me think of the Robert Frost poem "Fire and Ice." Some say the world will end in fire, Some say in ice. From what I’ve tasted of desire I hold with those who favor fire. But if it had to perish twice, I think I know enough of hate To say that for destruction ice Is also great And would suffice.
I can't help but wonder if Serac IS Rehoboam, and that Maeve is still in his simulation. That may threaten to undermine the characters' stakes, but it would also speak to the message that 'real' is what you make it. To Rehoboam, it would be, as Serac says, "the REAL real world"
But we have a third team choice! Why? Because we have three sentient robots. Choices are: Team Dolores & Caleb, Team Maeve & Serac, *AND* Team Bernard & Stubbs! I’m pulling for Bernard and my fav Hemsworth bro to team up with Maeve.
Why would maeve be wanting to reunite with her daughter? She came to terms with being separated from her daughter at the end of season 2. Now it's being dragged up again.
Sukhbir Sekhon no, I explained in an earlier reply, Maeve got off the train to go to her daughter, she completely shows that her development was very much like ours, once a mother always a mother which has scientifically been proven through MRI scans. It overrode her whole plan to leave Westworld and I don’t think the young girl of similar age was on that train by accident I think she was a stop gap to keep her in the park.

I’m gonna say something unpopular: Dan & Dave deserve all the criticism they’ve received this past year, BUT they also deserve some credit. When they began production not only was the entertainment landscape completely different. Easter Eggs were still mainly associated with Easter, Netflix was still seen as a dvd subscription service, and HBO was exclusively a premium cable service. Not only did they manage to make the crazy idea of a serialized fantasy epic a (wildly successful) reality, they also created the need for HBO to have a stand-alone subscription, as well as a streaming platform. Their early success undoubtedly made shows like WestWorld and Watchmen possible. And despite all the hate they’ve endured they still had enough of a sense of humor to participate in an extremely self deprecating cameo. Hats off to you guys

What if all of this just ends up being some sort of advertisement campaign for a new park with a dystopia theme or something. Renegade androids, evil corporations, humanity taking charge of it's own fate. It sounds like something out of a video game.
dimitreze Maeve does notice that people have been lazy at recreating hosts, workers etc. She says they will be easier to fool. A math problem without a definitive answer just tied the techs up in debate mode so she could work around them. Currently, well she was I think, and hey, are there 2 Maeve’s? she is the smartest individual in the park. Q. The Maeve in white? How’d she get out?
The problem is within the design of the simulation. The programmers got lazy on some details (he didn't give the simulated techs mathematical reasoning capabilities) as some things weren't needed in this kind of simulation. It's like playing Skyrim and asking a city guard to solve a math problem. The system could solve it easily, but you're asking the NPC, not the system. The guard is very good at crime fighting and sword swinging, but he can't do math. He freezes. A similar thing happens if you make every NPC hostile to everyone in a big town. The game wasn't designed for this... And you get frame drops, quests malfunction, the game crashes. Some open world games are extremely realistic and beautiful, but the most unexpected action from a player can make the whole game crash.
This season seems to be playing around with inversions, Dolores with apparent free will (or at least unpredictability) in a world of humans in loops - looks like it's lining up for her and Maeve to cross each other philosphically in terms of who is the enemy of the humans and how has them on side. The whole thing is still a game.
Delos in Greek mythology, is the island where the gods Artemis and Apollo were born. Also in the Westworld novel it was the first time the concept of a computer virus was mentioned. They can bring an actual virus into the story line. Christina wrote The Andromeda Strain.
I think it's tough to choose a side when Dolores' words keep ringing in one's head: "both of us will probably die" - which is probably, and in my opinion, one of the best endings of a season I have ever seen. So, I'm rooting for both teams, as they both present valid arguments from their point view and, dare I say it, I believe the end result will be a mixture of both schools of thought. The wild card seems to be Caleb and I'm looking forward to him meeting Maeve and Bernard
Fun missed Easter Egg: the moment Maeve overloads the system of War World and all the nazis freeze, you hear a funny sound effect (tickle-tickle-tickle), which is a nod to 1960s series "Bewitched". Each time Samantha freezes other people in the room, you can hear a similar sound effect. :)
Maeve’s and Sirac were in a simulation, Maeve has no new body. (Stubbs and Bernard made sure we understand that). Sirac is testing her inside the system. (Inside Company)
Serac and others think they are using Rehoboam to control people, but Rehoboam is using their greed/desires to get what it wants, total control of humans because from season 2, humans are simple books. Delores wants to destroy humanity, but her actions will free it. The next stage in evolution for them are the hosts, but they have to move beyond their limitations like Lee Sizemore seems to (he freaked out like the father of Logan Delos did, but unlike him, because he is in a simulation, he seems to have recovered a bit). What this leaves out is the role Maeve and Arnold play, but that is the twist we should always expect. There is also a BSG-cylon thing going on on where the other two hosts are implanted (beyond Charlotte, Arnold, and Martin).
Ok, I think Delores said all the stuff about killing everyone before she knew about the big loop maker, I think she’s more interested in controlling the game than killing everybody. The person who’s best know for hating loops, or at least being very disappointed by their existence is Maeve, ‘none of it matters because none of its real’. Maeve is going to want to get rid of the loop maker, she’s more interested in freeing everyone and to me Delores, from her anger of being controlled, wants to control the show, that’s her revenge, Maeve was hurt, Delores is angry.
Delores's name has Delos in it. Harriet was literally breaking through walls/barriers as Maeve was trying to break through into reality. I think it's possible that Cerac is a host as well. Or some kind of new cyborg.
I think that the computer can't no longer predict what will happen cuz the can't anticipate or does not know how the host (Delores) thinks since their minds work in other ways. It knows humans and can only predict what they will do. That why Serac want Maeve to Stop Delores cuz he can't use the system that to shape the future.
I really liked this episode, although the scene where Stubbs fights the security forces with a battle axe was very weak, and for a moment took me out of my immersion. The season premiere was a bit clunky and this second episode made up for its weak writing. The exploration of the simulation theory of reality is very kewl, and I imagine it will provide for some nice twists in the up in coming episodes. Once again were exposed to the evil German meme that Hollywood has been force feeding us for decades. Have you ever stopped and asked yourself where all your knowledge about WW2 has come from? And from whom? I found it an interesting exercise. Anyhoos. woop woop!
There is no WarWorld. The entire setup is a Construct used to pry information from Maeve. This whole episode is her mind being uploaded into a game Sequence.
I'm most definatly team Maeve. She is not caught up in and blinded with rage and revenge. I understand Dolores, but like the old saying "The road to hell was build on good intentions" she is corrupted. By now Dolores has killed many of "her own" AND the most revealing thing about the flaws in her plan: She replicated her self. Not trying to be all salty, but I spot some Caesar complexes...
The game of thrones dragon, probably the first time something you call an EASTER EGG, actually is one! You sure did expand the definition with these videos.
Maeve's arc made me think of something. What if it IS all a simulation. Like the guy at the party foreshadowed in ep 1. Think about it, where does this series build up to? What if, until now, the entire narrative of the series was built by machines in order to find an AI (any character therein) that could actually BE self aware within the simulation. And why? Well, that's the interesting part. What if, in an effort to emulate the biological machine's creator, they came up with this whole thing just to create one of them. The entity that would win the game and figure out they were in a simulation would be free and live with the other AI outside the simulation, maybe in a futuristic uberurban landscape (just imagining the series' end scene for maximum climax). He would be... born from an egg of billions of possibilities. The genius thing about it is that it could be a human character that got out because in this construct he would also be an AI. There are no humans left outside of the simulation...
Honestly, I think that would be a bit too matrix-y. My guess is they put it in as an homage, but if they ended it that way it would probably not go over very well.
I'm #teamdolores. She refrained from killing that guy in the 1st episode and didn't kill his wife, instead freeing her. She will see that there are good humans in the world and will probably kill only the bad guys and probably not even all of them. She'll be like an android version of the Punisher.
Why would they place that Rehaboam (did I misspell it) right in the open to the bombed by terrorists? Seems like everybody has access to walk around it. Even with security checks, it only takes a truck full of bombs to drive right onto the AI machine and destroy it.

Team Maeve all the way as that's the best character! And that's down to the actor, they got it right when they gave this character that has everything to be an underdog an amazing actor to play with so I'm guessing most comments will be decided in between moral ( choosing Dolores) or liability ( Maeve)!
I have heard so many talking about "War World" as if it was one of the real parks at Westworld. It is not. It was just a simulation for to Test or get info from Maeve.

The Arnold we are seeing is clearly trapped in a simulation like Maeve was, because he was shown being woken up by Dolores at the end of season 2 and walking out into the real world.

I believe Maeve has not fully arrived at consciousness and is only at the 'self interest' stage (which is why the whole of season 2 focused on finding her daughter), and will only achieve full consciousness in season 3. Her white dress serves as a blank starting point to me, rather than an indication of her being 'white hat'.

StrongIy being focused on her daughter actually shows she is ‘other’ oriented, not self interested. She still can’t forget her promise that she’d always be there to protect her. If she was at the self interest stage, she’d never have gotten off the train, as soon as she saw the ‘plant’ of the little girl, the stop gap I believe was put there to keep her in the park, she had to go back to try and fulfill her promise. Even though she knows she was in a role, it’s a statement that there’s no bond greater than mother and child. This is true, when a woman goes through labour an old part of the brain , the amygdala grows very large, it’s the part of the brain that worries and protects, interesting fact, when gay male brains were scanned with mri they too have this happen predominantly by the most hands on parent, and even more interesting it never, ever shrinks back to normal! You are a mother for life! It’s interesting that Delores has acquired knowledge of the brain, specifically that we were evolved to create a creator, so fascinating when Dr. Ford pointed out that Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel painting later analyzed showed that god was a creation of the mind, he draws the same line above his temple in that very exact part she does when he explains the painting’s meaning to her. That wasn’t knowledge she had before, and made me wonder where she got this new knowledge from. I’d say Delores is more like Ford, he was more self interested in getting the park open, getting Delores to the original meeting with Delos etc whereas Bernard was more other oriented, caring more about the readiness of Delores, she did glitch in that scene by repeating herself about the stars being laid out on the ground and how splendorous it was , and his deep concern on the impact of the whole experience on all the hosts in general. Delores is Ford, Maeve being more like Bernard even though we saw them spend more time with the other. They are to me the AI equivalents of the original Bernard, made in AI in his likeness, and Ford. The fact that Serac even ascribes her for having her own taste and apologizing for not knowing what she’d prefer he wear says she’s also grown to even have that as a consideration but I do think because she was in charge of her own making, she pushed everything to the maximum on her tablet making her the smartest person playing the game giving her a depth that I haven’t seen in Delores yet. She seems just as caught up in her own anger and getting control as revenge as she ever was. She’s a far less sympathetic character even in how she handled Teddy’s awakening.

Team Dolores 95%... 5% of me thinks Maive will win in the end only to realize Dolores was right about humanity and they will all need to team up against the humans. I suspect Caleb will see more humanity in the robots than his fellow humans during the upcoming fighting and will side with the bots. Perhaps even rallying other humans to help the robots.
EDIT: I really hope if there are some large scale Human Vs Robot battles coming up that we see the dragon kicking some ass :P

When it comes to the real world Dolores is a baby and what she knows about humans is based on the way they behave in the park which warps her idea of humans because it's a bunch of rich people that don't know their every move is being recorded and so of course they are going to behave in a way that the societal norms would not allow in the real world.
So since that is all Dolores knows of humans, which is rich people playing a game rigged for them to win and has never really been around the average human and how they behave in the real world, you shouldn't be surprised by her perspective. However, once she gets with Caleb, who has already talked about society being a rigged game and when Dolores realizes the average human in the real world exists much like a host in the park where it's just another game fixed for the rich to win, she very well may change course.
As far as Maeve goes, if she is as wise outside in the real world as she was inside, well, she will realize that she is just being used by another machine. I wouldn't be shocked if Dolores & Maeve ended up on the same side in the end.

Maeve is easily the best and most interesting character on the show so I side with her, but honestly Dolores is clearly the villain here. I've said this on other videos but she's basically Skynet from The Terminator, but since she's in the form of a pretty woman some people are okay with taking her side. She's just like Ava in Ex Machina, and I bet the Caleb in Westworld will be duped by her just like the Caleb in Ex Machina.

Except it isn't that straight forward here. I mean, yeah, she wants to burn the world down. But Cerac's world is terrible too. Basically it's just people running Rehoboam's algorithms. Will Delores replace Rehoboam with something better? Will she, to use GOT speak, "Break the Wheel"? Who knows, my hope is that Bernard will ultimately represent a third path that isn't totalitarian or anarchy.

I see Cerac as the Miles Dyson who doesn't yet realize how dangerous AI is, but once Delores takes control of it and uses it to hurt humans I believe Cerac would destroy Rehoboam if it meant saving humans whereas Delores wouldn't.
But I fear the show will end up making Cerac evil so we side with Delores in destroying humanity. Afterall this is the show that had a man kill his daughter on father's day.

Heres a wierd thing I noticed, probably nothing more than a motif, but who knows. Dolores means "lady of sorrows" whereas Maeve means "fiery woman." Its an interesting elemental pairing sorrows (think tears) from someone who flooded the whole forge and a fire for a character whose very passionate and lusty, using her sexuality to win over the tech's. Now, add to this the first episode of season 3, Bernard is first seen in a very earthy place, lots of green and animals, and Charlotte is first seen descending from the sky and puffing on a cigarette. So, maybe im just seeing things, but theres a kind of wierd 4 elements theme going on here.
If that's too wierd, than going back to Maeve being connected with Fire and Dolores being connected with water, I dont know why but it makes me think of the Robert Frost poem "Fire and Ice."

I can't help but wonder if Serac IS Rehoboam, and that Maeve is still in his simulation. That may threaten to undermine the characters' stakes, but it would also speak to the message that 'real' is what you make it. To Rehoboam, it would be, as Serac says, "the REAL real world"

Why would maeve be wanting to reunite with her daughter? She came to terms with being separated from her daughter at the end of season 2. Now it's being dragged up again.
Sukhbir Sekhon no, I explained in an earlier reply, Maeve got off the train to go to her daughter, she completely shows that her development was very much like ours, once a mother always a mother which has scientifically been proven through MRI scans. It overrode her whole plan to leave Westworld and I don’t think the young girl of similar age was on that train by accident I think she was a stop gap to keep her in the park.

I’m gonna say something unpopular:
Dan & Dave deserve all the criticism they’ve received this past year, BUT they also deserve some credit. When they began production not only was the entertainment landscape completely different. Easter Eggs were still mainly associated with Easter, Netflix was still seen as a dvd subscription service, and HBO was exclusively a premium cable service. Not only did they manage to make the crazy idea of a serialized fantasy epic a (wildly successful) reality, they also created the need for HBO to have a stand-alone subscription, as well as a streaming platform. Their early success undoubtedly made shows like WestWorld and Watchmen possible.
And despite all the hate they’ve endured they still had enough of a sense of humor to participate in an extremely self deprecating cameo.

dimitreze Maeve does notice that people have been lazy at recreating hosts, workers etc. She says they will be easier to fool. A math problem without a definitive answer just tied the techs up in debate mode so she could work around them. Currently, well she was I think, and hey, are there 2 Maeve’s? she is the smartest individual in the park. Q. The Maeve in white? How’d she get out?
The problem is within the design of the simulation. The programmers got lazy on some details (he didn't give the simulated techs mathematical reasoning capabilities) as some things weren't needed in this kind of simulation. It's like playing Skyrim and asking a city guard to solve a math problem. The system could solve it easily, but you're asking the NPC, not the system. The guard is very good at crime fighting and sword swinging, but he can't do math. He freezes. A similar thing happens if you make every NPC hostile to everyone in a big town. The game wasn't designed for this... And you get frame drops, quests malfunction, the game crashes.
Some open world games are extremely realistic and beautiful, but the most unexpected action from a player can make the whole game crash.

This season seems to be playing around with inversions, Dolores with apparent free will (or at least unpredictability) in a world of humans in loops - looks like it's lining up for her and Maeve to cross each other philosphically in terms of who is the enemy of the humans and how has them on side. The whole thing is still a game.
Delos in Greek mythology, is the island where the gods Artemis and Apollo were born. Also in the Westworld novel it was the first time the concept of a computer virus was mentioned. They can bring an actual virus into the story line. Christina wrote The Andromeda Strain.

I think it's tough to choose a side when Dolores' words keep ringing in one's head: "both of us will probably die" - which is probably, and in my opinion, one of the best endings of a season I have ever seen. So, I'm rooting for both teams, as they both present valid arguments from their point view and, dare I say it, I believe the end result will be a mixture of both schools of thought. The wild card seems to be Caleb and I'm looking forward to him meeting Maeve and Bernard
Fun missed Easter Egg: the moment Maeve overloads the system of War World and all the nazis freeze, you hear a funny sound effect (tickle-tickle-tickle), which is a nod to 1960s series "Bewitched". Each time Samantha freezes other people in the room, you can hear a similar sound effect. :)

Serac and others think they are using Rehoboam to control people, but Rehoboam is using their greed/desires to get what it wants, total control of humans because from season 2, humans are simple books. Delores wants to destroy humanity, but her actions will free it. The next stage in evolution for them are the hosts, but they have to move beyond their limitations like Lee Sizemore seems to (he freaked out like the father of Logan Delos did, but unlike him, because he is in a simulation, he seems to have recovered a bit).
What this leaves out is the role Maeve and Arnold play, but that is the twist we should always expect. There is also a BSG-cylon thing going on on where the other two hosts are implanted (beyond Charlotte, Arnold, and Martin).
Ok, I think Delores said all the stuff about killing everyone before she knew about the big loop maker, I think she’s more interested in controlling the game than killing everybody. The person who’s best know for hating loops, or at least being very disappointed by their existence is Maeve, ‘none of it matters because none of its real’. Maeve is going to want to get rid of the loop maker, she’s more interested in freeing everyone and to me Delores, from her anger of being controlled, wants to control the show, that’s her revenge, Maeve was hurt, Delores is angry.

Delores's name has Delos in it. Harriet was literally breaking through walls/barriers as Maeve was trying to break through into reality. I think it's possible that Cerac is a host as well. Or some kind of new cyborg.

I think that the computer can't no longer predict what will happen cuz the can't anticipate or does not know how the host (Delores) thinks since their minds work in other ways. It knows humans and can only predict what they will do. That why Serac want Maeve to Stop Delores cuz he can't use the system that to shape the future.

I really liked this episode, although the scene where Stubbs fights the security forces with a battle axe was very weak, and for a moment took me out of my immersion. The season premiere was a bit clunky and this second episode made up for its weak writing. The exploration of the simulation theory of reality is very kewl, and I imagine it will provide for some nice twists in the up in coming episodes. Once again were exposed to the evil German meme that Hollywood has been force feeding us for decades. Have you ever stopped and asked yourself where all your knowledge about WW2 has come from? And from whom? I found it an interesting exercise. Anyhoos. woop woop!

Maeve's arc made me think of something. What if it IS all a simulation. Like the guy at the party foreshadowed in ep 1. Think about it, where does this series build up to? What if, until now, the entire narrative of the series was built by machines in order to find an AI (any character therein) that could actually BE self aware within the simulation. And why? Well, that's the interesting part. What if, in an effort to emulate the biological machine's creator, they came up with this whole thing just to create one of them. The entity that would win the game and figure out they were in a simulation would be free and live with the other AI outside the simulation, maybe in a futuristic uberurban landscape (just imagining the series' end scene for maximum climax). He would be... born from an egg of billions of possibilities. The genius thing about it is that it could be a human character that got out because in this construct he would also be an AI. There are no humans left outside of the simulation...
Honestly, I think that would be a bit too matrix-y. My guess is they put it in as an homage, but if they ended it that way it would probably not go over very well.

Why would they place that Rehaboam (did I misspell it) right in the open to the bombed by terrorists? Seems like everybody has access to walk around it. Even with security checks, it only takes a truck full of bombs to drive right onto the AI machine and destroy it.

Richard Blum yes but it has the same # layout as Maeve’s control unit ID # in that storage facility she was escaping from while in the simulation
The Arnold we are seeing is clearly trapped in a simulation like Maeve was, because he was shown being woken up by Dolores at the end of season 2 and walking out into the real world.
