- This quick tutorial on how to change the speed of any videos when uploading to Reels in just a few quick taps. Changing the speed using a video you have already recorded, you can now speed up or slow down your pre-recorded videos from your phone's camera roll in Instagram Reels.

There is no speed option even after updating app
There is no speed option. Only options are audio and scale

This doesn’t work for me? For some reason when I click 4 or 2x the speed, it only speeds up the first two seconds of video, even though I have the whole clip selected. Any tips??
If my video was recorded in slowmo on my when ever I try to import it Instagram it's the whole entire video in slowmo?
*UPDATE* - I have checked today on Instagram and this feature is still available and working. I use an iPhone 12 Mini (iOS) and have a creator account on Instagram (also tested this on a personal account and this feature was there). Not sure if this is available on an Instagram business account. Hoping this feature is available and usable for you all soon. 🙂
The speed option is there for me but not for pre-recorded videos?
What account type do you have Personal, Creator or Business?
This is available on my old iPhone 8 but just bought samsang22+ & it's not on there. Maybe only available on Iphone 😕
Thanks for the update. I instagram just rolls features out at different times and on different devices. Hopefully its a feature you get soon
I have added just one photo to the reel, but there is no option of slowing down coming, since I wanted to add music to it
I don’t think you can slow down pictures only change the speed of videos. If you want the picture to last longer add the same picture a few times
I just want to be able to watch all videos on IG at 2x like I can on YT & TT. My ADHD brain gets too bored/distracted if I watch any video on normal speed 😂
😂 I hear that! Unfortunately Instagram hasn’t yet made that happen in their features and update. Unless you count scrubbing through… but I don’t.
There is no 'add' button on my insta so I can't access my revised version.
So it's not ANY reel, only your own videos. I need to slow down the reels I see on Insta that are too fast.

Can you speed up someone else's reel? There's some people I follow that post a lot of reels. I think what they post is interesting, but I'd rather be watching it at 2x or 3x speed.

Unfortunately, they change stuff also certain accounts and countries get early access to different features. I am on a creator account in case that helps.

This option is available only in iOS device.
Yes believe you are correct… for now. Updates for different operating systems happen at different times and are tested in different ways so keep and eye out

Unfortunately don’t think that is possible yet. But I heard the feature may possibly be coming to the platform at some point
I want to WATCH reels at slower speed. The only info people give is for posting.
No one is explaining how to slow playback of reels. Not ones we created but ones we are viewing
That’s because this feature isn’t available yet. If you need to watch something back in slow mo. Screen record it then you can change the speed using your phone
