About The Game:
Players control Joel, a smuggler tasked with escorting a teenage girl named Ellie across a post-apocalyptic United States. The Last of Us is played from a third-person perspective; players use firearms and improvised weapons, and can use stealth to defend against hostile humans and cannibalistic creatures infected by a mutated strain of the Cordyceps fungus. In the game's online multiplayer mode, up to eight players engage in cooperative and competitive gameplay.

The thing that makes this game so great to me is that the human enemies are actually more terrifying to me than Infected. Not at first, but as the game goes. I hear clicking and go "Well shit. OK. Lets do this." Because I know that I can manipulate them. I know how they move, I know how they react to things, and I know how to take advantage.
HUMANS however are unpredictable AI. They employ incredibly advanced tactics that really show off how good their combat AI is. It's magnificent.

I found bricks were consistently effective against humans, but not so much with clickers.
Believe it or not, i’m quite the opposite, i can really handle stealth with humans. But with infected i usually mess up and then have to go gun blazin. And bro, the clickers sound, they give me a creepy feeling dawg lol.

David is super easy tbh. Maybe the first time it will be a pain, but once you learn his AI, it's ZERO DEATHS every single time. Except on grounded... I guess he *is* the closest thing to a boss in the game though.
Hey guys, I just want to address a lot of the comments and concerns regarding the statements said about Ashley Johnson. I understand that everyone thinks I was being serious, offensive, or encouraging bad behavior of stalking and infatuation. While for the episode we clearly made it as a bit, we've seen now that it's upset a lot of people, even to the point of harassment to those involved. I finally 100% completed this, still after the many hours of playing and a few rave quits on grounded mode as Ellie, I can still say this is my favourite game of all time. That's why I took the time to finish every aspect I needed to in order to earn that trophy. I'm no way a completionist gamer and I don't know how Jared does it. But with this game I felt I owed it that attention. This game made me want to be a parent from the first time I played it years ago. And now I'm at a point where that is going to happen for me 😊 just thought I'd share that shit on here. Have a good day everyone

Am I crazy in that the sniper part and the ending were tougher for me than the Ellie parts on Grounded? The sniper part I especially almost gave up on. I had to find a new sneaky way I’d never found prior. It was probably mostly since I had used up all my supplies in the sewers and the sniper part gave me no difficulties on the lower difficulties, so I didn’t plan for it.
I think Jirard needs to realize that he's just really good at these kinds of games. The Last of Us is plenty challenging for the average gamer on Normal. Not "HARD", but not mindless by any means.

B) he's not keeping track of his actual runtime, which is probably what's going on as it's pretty obvious that's what he has done in the past
Or C) he only means single player run time, and is unaware that the multiplayer took up as much time as it did
Last of Us is a pretty easy game actually, that’s actually my biggest complaint with it, and the game is only 10 hours long, so him completing it multiple times and playing the multiplayer possible
@@DustinGFilm play it on survivor, or hell even on anything above normal, and you won't say that, and I have never heard of anyone who actually beat the game in 10 hours on their first run, hell even hltb (which often undercuts how long it takes to finish a game ) has it at 15.5. but even if you are able to beat the game in 10 hours on the hardest setting, you're still at minimum playing 40 hours (one of these playthroughs is collecting everything) which means your total time is 82 hours with multiplayer

playing this game for my 6th time right now. This is a game that no matter what, you just want to keep on playing. Its very very easy to lose yourself in their world and play for hours when you don't even realize you have been playing for so long.

"Adequate" is kind of insulting in this case. The majority of movies made are really terrible. Last of Us is endearing, appropriately ugly and *human*. Many books, movies, and shows don't even get close to accomplishing this. Of course there are some small segments shoehorned because it's a video game and needs something for players to do, but the game is still fantastic. There are even gay characters that aren't defined by their sexuality unlike a lot of movies and shows.

As someone who just beat it on Grounded, Survivor mode is plenty hard enough to appreciate both the game and its design.
It takes away the Listening Mode, but doesn’t have sadistic checkpoints the way that Grounded does.
I didn’t love how Jirard kinda crapped on all sub-Grounded difficulties.

like the amount of tactics in this games has really increased my gaming strategy, like when faced with a battle; you literally have to look through everything you have, and decide on the best possibly chance, and i think thats really refreshing and interesting

The Witcher Franchise. Went into 3 not knowing anything about it and I stopped about halfway through (In skellige, for those wondering), And I heard so many callbacks to the earlier games that I had to give them a try. A few months later, I had finished all 3 of the games, and I was absolutely blown away and still fangirl over the series today, nearly a year after my completion.

Naughty dog cut scenes are so good you get excited to reach them, unlike Ubisoft games where i cant wait to get through them because they add nothing.

Oh man! Thank you! I was absolutely upset when they announced Last of Us Part 2. I loved this game so hard and felt it was good enough, that it didn't need a sequel. I just know that any sequel could not love up to what this game gave us.
On the flipside, I am still very excited for Part 2.
I completed TLOU myself. It lasted long, but there is no game, I had so much fun completing as this one.

Only thing I’m not the biggest fan of is the gameplay. It’s fun but it is on the basic side. Part 2 really improves on this and is a huge upgrade
i dont think multiplayer trophies should be allowed for story games. if not that its just bad design etiquette. If servers shut down you cant get a platinum
How the hell did he beat it 4 times, AND do all the multiplayer in 51 hours!? The average beat the game time is 15 hours, even if you are a beast and beat it in 11 that's still crazy.. not saying he couldn't, just holy Crap

@@DOC_951 he definitely did 4 playthroughs I'm sure, whenever he can't do something he tells everybody... And I think the Completionist score on that website, is just for people who try to get everything done in one playthrough, Maybe not always, but I feel like that is generally what that score entails... But four playthroughs is a lot more than 23 hours, and I know he is great at games, just was surprised at the time.. I really hope the next one is as awesome, spoilers aside.. Also, considering they probably had a much bigger budget after the success of the first one, I hope this one is much longer! At LEAST 25-30 hours for regular playthrough, otherwise I will still like it but that will be a big bummer...
Ashley Johnson's role on Blindspot as well has only further shown her skill and range as an actress / V.O. artist. She's a BAMF!
when I first played this game I played for like 30 min then gave up cause I didn't like it. I finally decided to play it again after awhile and its probably one of my favorite games I beat it 3 times, after I beat it on grounded mode I got into stealth games

As weird as this might sound, if you are being completely serious about having a crush on that one girl, then wow...this game must of been a complete wonder to play.
Seriously imagine it: what if your crush real or celebrity was in a game where they were more or less glued to you, wanted to be around you, genuinely depended and cared about you, was helpful to you and you owned this game...you would feel amazing inside knowing the journey was next to your crush.
Playing on Grounded + was insanely difficult for me. You could survive 1-2 bullets and being hit/pinned by an enemy almost always meant certain death. It actually too me about 2 months. Here are the worst parts: The Summer chapter “Pittsburgh” and the Fall chapter “Tommy’s Dam” as well as the last combat segment in the Hospital had me working on single combat segments for almost 2 hours. Sometimes I couldn’t even beat them all in one sitting.
the last of us is my favorite video game of all time. no game kept me up all night just for addictive game play, it also made me care about characters in a way I had never seen before. even if the sequel sucks, I will still gladly pay full price for it because of how much I love the last of us

I'm currently playing this game: Is amazing so far you need a stragety to repel the hordes of enemies. And is super depressing really when I take a break I say: "I Hope this never happen" Still a Top Tier game.
This is my favourite game of all time. The story, the soundtrack, the voice-acting and the mechanics are all second to none. Not to mention the feels. It blows my mind how only half of a team could make something so fucking exemplary. Hats of to the composer as well, the music is so fucking good I could listen to it all day.
By the way, what happened to the final level section? I would've loved to hear what you thought of the ending. I guess I'll have to ask you at Retrospillmessen in May. If you're coming that is... (please come...)

A story that makes you feel fully attached to its characters and experience their emotions with them is not 'adequate'. I wholeheartedly disagree with you. Joel's University accident, Henry's storyline, and the intro's ending are far from average. Sorry to see you were not able to let yourself be touched by them, or maybe we just played two different games.

Still my favorite and most active multiplayer experience to this day (it helps that I use a headset and tell everyone I play with to call me by my real name, which is "Joel" and also that everyone who plays this game associates said name with a truly epic badass.) This game was and still is my favourite game of all time - I'm not a huge gamer and don't try to act like I am one. But, I am a filmmaker and as a said filmmaker, The Last of Us incorporates the best kind of cinema with well done, fun and brilliant gameplay. I am so excited for The Last of Us Part II and hope that Naughty Dog, Neil Druckmann, Troy Baker, Ashley Johnson and everyone else at the studio can make another visceral gameplay and cinematic masterpiece! #EndureAndSurvive

Except for the running "creeping on Ashley" gag, the jokes in this episode were legitimately funny. Your humor delivery is getting better! But the running gags are almost always painful and rarely worth the time they take to sit through. I'd consider dropping them and sticking to quick jokes like the others in this episode.

There were like only a few sections i always hated, the hotel basement, sewers and the little town after the sewers. Aside from those few sections it was kinda easy tbh

haha, jokes on you, the last of us 2 isn't being released until june 2020. but I honestly believe that this is the best single player story that i've ever played.
If you are new to this game, I seriously suggest you play it on hard difficulty first instead of normal. It adds so much more immersion to the game. I recently completed it on grounded and I would not recommend you start at that lol. It’s an exercise in frustration, especially the winter part.

I know people say this game is incredibly overrated, but the fact that those comments exist and run rampant makes me want to say it's the most publicly underrated game. Seriously, The Last of Us is probably my favorite game of all time. I'll pick it back up over and over again just to relive this game's incredible story and combat. There aren't many games out there that I'll play on a loop for weeks, but this is one of them, and probably the most significant.
I also was one of those people who didn't want a Last of Us 2 because I felt that this one wrapped things up pretty nicely, and if they did end up having to make a sequel, I wanted it to focus on a completely separate cast of characters. But seeing as there is a sequel after all, and Joel and Ellie return, I hope desperately that it doesn't just fall under the shadow of the first game and actually does everything even better.
I can almost guarantee that the 2nd game will live up to the first. After 240+ game of the year awards they will not release something of mediocrity!
