To go even further sometimes managers can get a move to big PL club example Roberto Martinez relegated with Wigan in 2012/13 and Marco Silva relegated with Hull in 2016/17 got moves to manage Everton and Watford respectively the season after. None of Bolton's players apart from Jaaskelainen who moved to West Ham who bounced back via the play offs that season got moves to PL sides says a lot at how poor they were.

Some of the players ala Onuha didn't know and thought that Aguero's goal had relegated them. One of Mark Hughes' backroom team was actually at this game keeping track of the score and relaying back to the QPR bench at the Etihad. But Bolton had only themselves because they blew a 2-0 lead against West Brom the week before West Brom squared the game in the last of the 90 minutes via James Morrison and Djibril Cisse's last gasp winner against Stoke the same day just compounded the misery because they would have climbed out of the bottom 3 if they held on.

That first goal didn’t relegate us to the championship, nor league 1. That sent us to league 2. We never recovered from that.
