Those came out great! The banded iron is awesome, but I'm equally awestruck by the petrified wood. Beautiful colors! Is that some of what you picked up at the Dobell Ranch? If so, that's another place to add to my growing list of places to check out, hopefully this year. Looking forward to your next video.

Yes, a lot of that came from The Doebell Ranch. I picked up a lot of small pieces for tumbling and threw them in my bucket as I was hunting around for bigger pieces for cutting.

Mike they all are amazing ! I also am a lover of banded iron :) My first batch turned out amazing. My second batch had a piece of added jasper crack in the final step that scratched up my banded iron. I think I will be running them through step three and four once again. Any suggestions on what you would do ? Anyways yours look awesome 🤩

Thanks. I've had the same problem. I always look carefully at all the rocks before putting them in polish. I leave out any that look like they might break or spall with further tumbling and ruin the rest of the load. Sometimes it happens anyway. I've had really solid looking rocks break up for no apparent reason. It happens. Yes, back to pre-polish, or even coarser grit if the scratches are deep. Not much else you can do. I love your channel. Subscribed! I lived in Michigan as a kid, right on the shore of lake Michigan. It was all rocks down at the shore. Wish I was still there sometimes. Not in winter though. Florida for me then.

@@MikesLapidaryFossils thank you kindly for all the advice. I live in Upper Michigan, were the farther north I go the more rocks there are to be found. My Mother lives in Florida. It is nice there for sure. I like the shells in Florida :) Again thanks for your suggestion :)
