  • In this video I show how I spend a typical day in my rock workshop, cutting and slabbing rocks, and prepping rocks for tumbling, etc. Watch and see what it's like. Please visit my blog at www.mdpub.com for more information.

Hi Mike, You had a busy day! The Crazy Lace turned out real nice! Too bad about that agate nodule - it went from promising to dud! The end cut of Sheeps Bridge should cut some nice cabs! The Sagenite domed in a cab will be really pretty! All your tumbling prep will certainly pay off in time savings! Great video! Thumbs up! Jim

Great video. I agree with Jim, that Crazy Lace turned out nice! Too bad the colors as you see them don't come through on the video. Looking forward to seeing all that you got prepped for tumbling feature in a future episode!

Mike this may be a crazy question but I am not learned on the rock hounding subject. But I grew up in the land of gravel pits. The land I grew up on is now a huge pit. The neighbors had a small pit that hasn't been worked in 50 years. My question is is how deep the nice stones go. I know there are piles of rocks but they look the same to me.

Hard to say without seeing what was coming out of the pits. Might be good stuff, or might just be road fill.
