Love it! I was watching for a good chunk in the middle (about 1.5 hour into the stream) but was folding laundry and doing housework, so I couldn't type. 😜 I love Lara's artistry and look forward to watching the video you did on her today, which I still need to see. Thanks for sharing all your amazing knowledge with us! 😍

Most of the important points I had to make were in the first 30 minutes. The rest was just replying to people's questions and then people got me to do a reaction do a few clips, including Dimash. You're welcome, though.

Thank you again for the great content!
What do you think about the late Chris Cornell? His voice is full with texture, but not damaged I believe.
I do have one question. I can sing up to a G4 without straining my throat; but after a while I get exhausted and hitting those notes becomes harder. Is this just a matter of practicing the voice in those regions? I must say it's been only a week since I've been able to sing these notes free and without tension and this after a lot of practice and excercises :)

You're welcome. I think Chris Cornell was great as an artist! Unfortunately, I haven't listened to a whole lot by him so I can't really comment much on his technique. Also, I don't know a whole lot about his life story to really connect the dots of what we hear in his voice.
As for your issue with the G4, is it just overall exhaustion in the sense of you're tired and want to take a nap? Or is it exhaustion in the sense of your voice feels tired? If it is the former, it's just a thing of stamina that you build up over time. Being physically active (like being involved in a sport) can help with this. If it is the latter, it is a technique issue and means you need to address the way you're trying to sing the note.

@@VocalLiberation Thank you for the answer! It's the second one, my voice feels tired like your arms would feel after lifting heavy weights :) It's definitely technique. But I'm saving up to take a couple of lessons from you :) I've seen a lot of online vocal teachers but you stand out. A lot. Your knowledge and passion about music in general is something a lot of vocal teachers miss.

Although Lara is one my favorites, the two issues you pointed out were sometimes odd vowel choices and loss of vocal cord closure at the top of her range (sometimes). Is this the reason why it almost sounds as though her voice sounds thins a little compared to her otherwise relatively full sounding voice?
Also because you seem to be more familiar with Lara Fabian compared to other vocal instructors, what are her other problems that she has? Are they significant or are they really a minor thing that you state. The reason why I ask because I really like the way that she sings and nowadays her voice although sounding very similar to before does not have the presence it once had.

      Yes, you're correct.
As I mentioned, she sometimes gets a bit of a tongue tension when she attempts to belt at times. Instead, her voice should get a more metallic, steely sound when belting. (Think along the lines of the sound I show in my video How to Sing Clearly.) When someone has trouble finding that, they end up creating tensions in other ways. Her preferred way is by using the tongue. Over time, if you don't engage enough of this metallic "bite" to your voice and spend a lot more time in softer singing, your voice gets weak.

Hey! Thanks for the video!! Do you have a video/live schedule?

Unfortunately, I don't have a schedule. I don't like being on camera, so I just tend to hop on whenever I feel inspired enough to share something. That could be any time of the day or night, haha. But perhaps I will do a regular time in the future.

I had to keep the gain lower because once I start singing, I get much louder. Sometimes I forget to turn it back up if I'm only going to be speaking.

I can understand that. In that case, it can be better to not try to learn about vocal technique and instead, to learn more about artistry and musicianship until you can find an appropriate teacher/technical resource. That way, you are still learning SOMETHING productive.
