      I think he was just being sassy about starbucks having a tall size. The notes are all just minor pentatonic and that top note is the tonic, which the run also starts on.

    What makes her run sound so unique is that she’s changing registers halfway through the run. She flips to head voice for the last 3 notes. She flips so hard that it almost sounds like a yodel. She also changes vowel sounds from ahhh to eeee shortly before flipping to head voice. You can really hear the scoop from ahhh to eeee when he slows her down. Those details are why this run sounds more complex than it is.

      I order small, medium and large at Starbucks becauae a corperation being clinically ill with their marketing strategies to be cute doesn't mean I am going to change my way of speaking for it. It's a large in 20,000 locations from mom and pop tamale bakery to burger king. Small, medium large. Grande means large but to them it's not. The word literally means big and large.

    What makes hers so impressive is the fact that it is a full octave above his illustration. If you learn it it can be flipped up but it’s much more difficult to keep the same agility when all the resonance is in the head voice that high

    • @Mikmikmouse
      @Mikmikmouse ปีที่แล้ว +48

      I think that may depend on voice type and range. I have a lot more agility in my upper register versus my lower register, and it’s much more effortless for me. Only gets tough when I’m beyond my healthiest top note. Fast runs on top, slow chungus walks on the bottom lol

    • @LamHoang-dp6ui

      Actually it's easier to do the riffs in your head voice since the muscles are more flexible lol. Doing runs and riffs in chest voice is wayy harder

    Tristan, You are so good! Your voice is incredible and you’re a great teacher as well!
    I wish I could feel comfortable signing. My mother (who is a singer) told me when I was 7 that I was a horrible singer and tone deaf. Then she would tell everyone we knew, right in front of me, even still to this day; even though she has not heard me sing since I was 7. It’s still sad & embarrassing. I’m just a wounded 7 year old child again, each time she does it.
    I have been so self conscious and afraid to sing out loud for almost 50 years. So I only sing when no one can hear me. I’m going to try this riff again. I enjoyed trying it, so much.
    Only when no ones home of course . Shh🤭🤫🤐

    Finally someone who knows what he’s talking about. One thing to add is that the trend is that singing means screaming and pushing your voice when the thing is that more you push and less you have the chance to get on the high notes. Among other things, there is a risk of ruining the vocal cords because nodules are generated in the long run. Finalmente qualcuno che sa di ciò che sta parlando. Una cosa da aggiungere è che sta passando la moda che cantare significa urlare e spingere la voce quando più si spinge e meno si ha la possibilità di salire sulle note alte. Fra l’altro si rischia di rovinare le corde vocali perché si generano a lungo andare dei noduli.

      Well, if you don’t have the equivalent starbucks sizes to every interval, it would get counterproductive really fast. There are 12 semitones whose distance can be expressed as intervals, and probably not 12 starbucks sizes, which means either imprecise or incomplete applicability of that kind of system; you would either have to refer to multiple intervals as one starbucks size, which would lead to a lot of confusion, or have intervals that could not be described with that system.
