Curious what's a good compression ratio for a 2005 Evo MR? Also, do you recommend using the copper plugs over the uridium with a mild turbo upgrade and also plug gap range?
On a used motor I usually look for 150-180. Even sometimes a bit lower. Cars with miles on them can be a little loose but still run really well. I only use iridium. Ikh24 or equivalent. 18-22 based on boost. With r35 coils or Toyota. Usually hit it with 20 with no issue.
@@hdwerks Hard to really determine how a rod performs until it doesn't haha. My engine builder didnt have anything negative to say though. This car wont ever see the limits of the rod being a stock 4g69 crank though so I dont expect them to fail. Plan to keep it around 650whp
Great vlog 😊
Love the vlog idea. Helps showcase the amount of time, work, and forward thinking that actually goes into these 1 of 1 builds.
That’s the idea. Shit takes forever lol. You’ll be in the next episode
Big Bird gonna be nuts. Nice color after all 🫡
I have a SRT-4 swap 99 dodge neon so seeing the SRT4 build warms my heart. This has me excited to see what HD Werks does to it.

I have boostline rods in a 2.3 stroker evo9. Stock 4g69 crank. Not crazy power though, low 600s.
Thanks Mike. How do you like them so far

Sounds great, we'll keep everyone updated here as well since we intend to touch the 800hp area on this build. Appreciate you watching
Sorry- need clarification on what type of sauce I can throw at the motor….soy?
Only soy
Only the soy.
