    15:25 I believe that is an old rag mop handle, it had a handle that released to you could put your old towel or rag in and snapped it tight. I maybe wrong, but that is what it looked like to me. I didn't see the "needle" up close, but that is how sewing machine needles used to be packaged. I would be drying that "roll of money" out, to me it looked like a change dispenser. I think as long as you have a serial number on the bills you can cash them in. Good luck Alex! 21:59 an old pump stand? Love watching and seeing old memories appear 🤣🤣

    The handle at the end came off one of the enamelware pots like the one you found earlier so the pot could be hung up. The Bally's puck looks like it may have went to an old shuffle bowling slot machine. The piece Alex found at nine minutes is the clamp part of an old industrial mop for a business.

  • @rachelmalkoski4627
    @rachelmalkoski4627 ปีที่แล้ว +14

    Cool finds as always. You were definitely in an area of Victorian/Edwardian stuff.
    The box with the rolls of paper, they may have been song rolls for a player piano. The hook that was found with them is a button hook. For buttoning up boots/shoes of the 1800s-early 1900s. There was also a mop head attachment found by your buddy, then later you found another along with the fingernail clippers. The string tied to the faucets may be from old inspection tags. The hook was probably for either a plant hanger or a curtain tie back. The oval-shaped can was probably a meat tin,think spam. The swirling metal brackets look like they were for light fixtures. Perhaps held oil lamps.
    Old medicine dropper bottle is worth some coin.

    • @countyseatadventures
      @countyseatadventures ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The paper rolls aren't from a player piano, they'd be longer n on a wood or hard plastic dowel. We had one growing up n I still have 40-50 of the rolls. Many, many hrs spent pumping away n singing along to all sorta old songs n listening to some neat music. Much more fun than practicing our piano lessons!! Haha!! But you're right that's a button hook he found with it. Those can be made of sterling n have fancy decoration on them...hope he cleans that up. Lots of other very cool finds they both pulled up!! If he used Google lens, it may help him find a lot of answers. Always fun to hear what he thinks stuff is though!!! 😅

      @@countyseatadventures I agree, it's fun to hear his guesses. I have a few of my grandma's button hooks , so I recognized it right off. Replaced enough mop heads to recognize them too. The red round object you pulled up is a disk that was used to slide on a long miniature bowling alley in bars/taverns. The disk would knock down the pins at the end of the alley. Bally was the company that made those machines. It was the best-known tavern entertainment manufacturer for a long time. The disks reminded me of a small hockey puck.

    21:58 I'm thinking of an old 1950's stool or something. If I'm correct it should've had a wooden top, and probabily also a bottom. It could be from a bar, but also a cheaper hair saloon/barber. The circle part would've been the seat part, with wood and/or some type of pillow cloth, and that broken square-ish part would've probabily been bolted to the ground. I'm not 100% sure, but that'd be my guess.

    Great video!!! Those round iron rings you kept finding are probably from troughs or barrels made of tin or copper. They were used to make the top more sturdy, while the softer metal would be wrapped around it and either riveted, brazed or soldered (usually silver solder). There are larger ones that were horse troughs and general water troughs that were oval and from 18 inches to 36 inches wide and 48 to 96 inches long, again mainly copper, but some tin. Some pails had them as well. Keep up the great job, and I hope you return there and find more stuff. Thought about using a grappling hook for some of those locations to see if you can move the obstructions? May be a good addition to your arsenal.

    Thanks for the video! Baley use to make Pinball games. (Maybe they still do?) What you have is the puck to an old bowling game that they once made. You slid it down a short alley then it would slide over the wire switches, that would lift the bowling pins right above them up. You had two tries to get as many pins that could. If I remember right up to four, or six players could complete at a time.
    P.S. If you find any more cleaning tools, you could open your own cleaning service!

    I’m pretty sure that the red puck looking thing that said Balley is a piece to a shuffleboard! And I know Balley makes games like that and pinball machines and I believe pool tables. Pretty cool and random find. I can totally imagine someone throwing that in the river. Check and see if there are or was once s bar in that area.

    That round metal disc with the name “Bally” on it is a shuffle board “Puck”. Bally makes many high end games including many of the slot machines used in casinos around the world. The shuffleboard game is a large table, about 24 inches wide and 10’ to 20’ long, often found in bars. It is played pretty much like the shuffleboard game on the ground outside. Keep the good vids commin’ Broski !!!!!!

    I do believe that those pieces that you are pulling up are from a old weather vain. The first thing was from a old pulley from like a engine.
    And the one is from a old industrial mop head.

    The Bally disk may be for a table-top shuffleboard game. Beer joints used to have them. Popular 1955-1965, I think. Each player got three disks, IIRC, and the idea was to score points by landing on point areas at the far end of the board, and also to knock off an opposing player's disk when you could. Each end of the table was marked, so that after a round, you could stay at that end, collect your disks, and play to the opposite end.

    It looks like those large elaborate pieces you found might be from a large clock or something. There's small gears that were still being held in place, very intricate workings.
