I enjoyed watching your post. Thank you for sharing. I’m a Montalvo and my descendants are from Northern Italy. My family went to Spain, I’m an American born and raised.

That old stove in the kitchen may be a wood burning stove which could heat the entire downstairs as well as cook meals . the exhaust pipe is still in place . It is common for Italians to take the whole Kitchen with them when moving , considered Furniture . a Super bargain of a price . Love the Taverna .

Good call! The stove could definitely be for heat.
Yes that taverna is just waiting to be restored!

That‘s a first I‘ve heard about Italians taking their kitchen with them, that‘s usually done in Germany. In Italy very often the furniture is included in the price, so you won‘t even need to by beds 😉

it's recommended to have everything in writing documented by your 'Notaio' , so there's no disappointment at closing .@@lillic8522

Are you looking to buy a property?

@@RetireToEurope Yes, I am very interested in buying property. I am trying to get "familiar" with the different regions.

@@michellespezialetti3122 The cheapest properties are in the southern regions.
Northern areas are nice too, but more expensive and higher cost of living.
      But still not bad.

Find me a 3 acre property I can build on or restore a ruin Under $50,000 I am headed to southern Italy in December to narrow down a region. I have a list of particulars. Was headed to live in Portugal but things have changed so I am back in Italy. Southern....want to be walking distance to a village, near a river, views, water, power, tiered walls and other. Thanx. Love your channel. I will be filming my time in Italy and Portugal on my TH-cam Channel this winter...thanx Cheers

Im looking for a place in southern Italy as well. How does one contact an agent or go about buying a property there? I like the detail you provide in your videos.

When you find a property you like online, there should be a contact form. On Gate-Away.com it's on the right. Or you can see the agent's company name, then search for them online.
Many agents speak english, so that's helpful.

usually there is a reason for why it's so cheap

    • @RetireToEurope
      @RetireToEurope  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

Yes, it's supply and demand. Many of these areas have seen younger folks migrate to larger cities.
But if you're retired you can find cheap houses in beautiful locations. Just not in the middle of a large city.
      Thanks for watching.
