Hi Tommy, Excellent Video and property choices. I would be interested in the smaller Lock Up And Leave property to start my journey. Although i did like all of them.

My sole concern is that I’ve read that Italy doesn’t recognize Roth IRA income as tax-free income, and they’ll tax it. Since I’ve already paid taxes on my Roth IRA in the US, I certainly don’t want to incur additional taxes on it in Italy. This detail significantly hinders and complicates my plans to relocate to Italy.

Looking for estate is the worst from advertisments. Most effective way is to go in area you like. Do a investigation. Get know everything. Then choose the best location. And then find house is not for sale but seems to be. Find owners. Convince them. Buy it. Die happy...ps. greets from Poland, a land of smart people.

It’s not just the price of the house but the region and the community you live in…proximity to healthcare, transportation, etc is key. You can always find a cheap house near a River lol….beware of flooding. Lots of it in the southwest this last year !

So, now that we just sold our home in Portland, and moved in with our daughter and grandchildren while we decide our future. In February we will visit Italy to see if it is it for us.
