Thanks for sharing another great memory at Cullen Phil, what a bonnie sunrise there was that morning and yea got tae meet Sunty claas emsel! 🎅🏻😂😂 Techt lines ma freen and here’s tae monney mair 👍🎣🐟🐟🐟
@@fat_tommo_goes_boating That's a downer, hope the footage turns up. Fingers crossed. I've had the GoPro freeze twice recently. Think it's the little memory card which has an issue.
No problem I do really enjoy fishing at Cullen. I think we'll try a bit further towards Portknockie end nearer the rocks next time. Have a good Christmas, Phil.
Great video again phil. My 10 year old son is a big fan as once we have watched... im usually asked "can we go there tomorrow dad". Your appeal cleary crosses the age groups!!! 😂
Wonderful to hear younger viewers are watching getting the fishing bug. Hopefully Santa has also been listening and perhaps getting the lad a few bits of tackle. Thanks for sharing the adventures. Phil.
Hi Phil great video as always, I've fished Cullen Beach for 40 years but mostly past the rocks to the West of where you were. The tree stump is actually part of the war defences.on bigger tides or after a big Notherly gale there are quite a few still sticking out of the sand at various points...keep up the videos and tight lines
Hi Lenny, thanks for sharing the information about the war defences. That make sense as there are many pill boxes and tank barriers along the coastline. I imagine you've caught some larger fish from Cullen going back 40 years. Have a great Christmas. Phil PS. Gordon @kintakintya and I often say "Oh about 40 years ago...." and both burst out laughing because everything apparently happened then.
Hi Phil love your videos, and to see to pals fishing is great . I follow Gordon's channel love them both. Is there any chance of showing use how you unhook the deeply hooked flounder. I still struggle with this. Take care Chris
Hi Chris, lovely to hear you're enjoying the videos. Next time we are fishing for flat fish we'll show the unhooking in more detail. The tool we use Gordon made from the bail arm of a broken fixed spool reel. The trick is to 'turn the hook' and at all costs take care to not damage the gills of the fish. Once mastered, almost all deep hooked fish can be returned in good condition. Phil.
Chris, I had a look on Gordon's channel and he does explain how to extract a hook from a flounder in this video th-cam.com/video/jNyQ838T680/w-d-xo.htmlsi=LxWhHOpGlX1wPsmR&t=1445 We will try to do another video between us which will be easier with a second pair of hands to hold the camera. Phil
Nice video Phil! Do you find using the feeder makes a significant difference? If so, how can you tell? Did you test it out by having 1 rod with the feeder and one without the feeder casted in the same area? Or is there no way to measure the difference and it's more of a confidence thing? Tight lines 🐟🎣!
Thanks, glad you're enjoying the videos. I think the feeders do improve the catch rate because you're adding to the bait trail in the current and getting the fish near the baited hooks. I have had two rods out, one with and one without. But this was a scientific comparison. Confidence has a great deal to do with it as well.
Great video Phil, it made my morning, thanks for sharing buddy. Tight lines👍🎣
Glad you enjoyed it, the one fish I took was delicious. Been fishing lighter rigs since Carnoustie. 👍
@ nice one, light rigs is the way to go if you can mate👍

Thank you Davie. Sharing is all part of the adventure and it's great to hear you enjoy watching the videos. Cheers Phil.

Lovely location, lovely weather, and great company
Hello Tommo, glad you liked the video - the flounder was very tasty I can tell you. 😃
@anotherangleUK wonderful Phil
@@fat_tommo_goes_boating Will we be seeing some fishing from Tommo next year?
@anotherangleUK maybe. At the moment, I have lost footage from this year somehow, even complete edited videos! No idea how 🫣
