Inherently a 1.5 4 cylinder 115-120 hp engine will produce the power more linear and has less moving parts than a three cylinder turbo, And lesser stress As for a 4 cylinder turbo the engine itself produces enough power in the lower rpm without the turbo lag, and it has the turbo only for extra power and not like the three cylinder where it needs the turbo to produce that 120hp and with the vibration.
@DiwakarRajanOnline thank you for the swift reply. This is the first turbo engine I have used, I'm not quite familiar with the maintenance required for turbo engines. If you have any more information on this, I'll be happy to read/know.
Go for the Hyundai Creta NA engine good for your pocket. Save that extra cost you like to spend for diesel or turbo use it for your car maintenance and petrol cost.
A very informative video on turbo engines. I too share the same views. If you want long term ownership, go for naturally aspirated engines. It is cheaper to maintain and far more reliable.

Skoda service cost will be high and turbo engines will spice up the service cost in the long term. Tata punch service cost will be less and low maintenance cost.
Petrol turbos are lighter built than diesel turbos and the petrol turbos run at higher rpms , The general reliability of these petrol turbos depend on the driver how he drives and maintains it Usually the engines with even number of cylinders are pretty reliable The issue with respect to indian market specially the sub 4 meter cars are the three cylinder turbos , These cylinder engines are generally unbalanced engines , means more vibration due to uneven firing order , to reduce these vibration you need balancer shafts to even it out Plus these three cylinder engines does not produce enough power without the turbo , so by turboing it you are increasing the stress and proper engineering is needed And three pot engines needs the turbo to produce the power of the 4 cylinder Therefore chances of failure is high Hence 4 cylinder engines are more reliable in the long run The pot turbos are not suitable for city traffic as the turbo kicks in only above 2000rpm and the on and off city traffic puts heavy strain on these small turbos they are more suitable fot highways
Gdi has its own disadvantages however it depends on which company engine you select. German company engines are good in this segment however high maintenance costs.
Currently all diesel engines are turbo only Petrol engines only comes without turbo If you are going to buy a car with diesel engine, it's 100 percent with turbo only
It's not about bs norms , car diesel engines won't work without turbo, because they designed such a way, even in bs 4 also all diesel engines in cars having turbo. Diesel engines are self ignited engines and lot of compressed air required for ignition , am not going to buy a car , just gave clarification for ur deleted comment about turbo
Totally unclear, confusing and uninformed lecture. You have not named one specific brand for good or bad Turbo.. It's just waste of time watching your program. Try to be specific. No point in talking generalized contents sir.

This is what the real information the people need, well done, keep up your good work.
You didn't add that Turbo won't kick-in at low RPMs, in City drives. So, NA is a good choice.

How about Skoda(Slavia) 1.5L turbo engine. Is this good? when you talk about maintenance for turbo, any specifics needs to be adhered/kept in check?
As long as company provides good service and reliable components. It is good to go. Skoda and volkswagen produce reliable turbo engines globally. 👍

Petrol turbos are lighter built than diesel turbos and the petrol turbos run at higher rpms ,
The general reliability of these petrol turbos depend on the driver how he drives and maintains it
Usually the engines with even number of cylinders are pretty reliable
The issue with respect to indian market specially the sub 4 meter cars are the three cylinder turbos ,
These cylinder engines are generally unbalanced engines , means more vibration due to uneven firing order , to reduce these vibration you need balancer shafts to even it out
Plus these three cylinder engines does not produce enough power without the turbo , so by turboing it you are increasing the stress and proper engineering is needed
And three pot engines needs the turbo to produce the power of the 4 cylinder
Therefore chances of failure is high
Hence 4 cylinder engines are more reliable in the long run
The pot turbos are not suitable for city traffic as the turbo kicks in only above 2000rpm and the on and off city traffic puts heavy strain on these small turbos they are more suitable fot highways
Compare about turbo mpfi vs gdi which is reliable !
Gdi has its own disadvantages however it depends on which company engine you select. German company engines are good in this segment however high maintenance costs.
