WeebWars '24. I'll never understand how people can say the Jap soundtrack (if you even can call it that) surpasses anything by the Faulconer group. Those dumb horns that are going off in every "piece", and it's just so BLAND. Day of Fate is definitely the best bit of the Jap soundtrack, but one little golden nugget out of a manurepile does not, a good soundtrack make.
Gohan gets the goku theme when he begins the final kamehameha as goku says make cell pay for what he has done and gohan says i will it drops.....that theme works for that situation cause goku inspires him and is his dad and helps him in the end...goku theme doesn't really fit gohan...it is more sorrowful and angelic and you can hear the conflict regret going on in goku's heart with the rising choir voices and guitar riffs and piano and synth keys
In fact, that's just because the songs aren't exactly unique, and aren't made for THAT moment, like the original themes, in Japanese, especially Gohan's, are. The ability to do something that only works for ONE specific moment, and no others, is really impressive, because you know exactly the feeling of the scene
@@hugheggs I love how all aliens in the show know English or Japanese. Dude, seriously, y’all pick the most pointless shit to get hung up on. Lemme guess, Jeice’s Australian accent was also too much for you? Lol.

As much I love dbz, I'll respect Goku's son, Gohan theme as I respect his song. In my opinion, Gohan theme work well, too. Again, just respecting son of Gohan, the father of Goku. 😊
@@cordz436 Actually, I’ve never even watched a single episode of any Dragon Ball related thing 😅 I just know the characters, their powers, and their voices..sort of..
Goku with Gohan's theme sounds like an underdog turned into super hero through training and never giving up. Which fits so well Gohan with Gokus theme sounds like an innocent soul finally bringing out his full potential. Which fits perfectly
I kinda agree, man. I love both themes and I think both scenes are awesome. But something is just different that I can't explain with Gohan's transformation.
Gohan is straight up anger, hope and sadness, the piano does a lot on his theme, but Goku's theme is more of a revenge and spite type of anger, the reverb and acid beat makes it very clear, that's not really Gohan's vibe.
goku - The man that turned into a legend gohan - The man that created a legend even in the worldwide theme for gohan that it's called Tamashi tai tamashi. The song starts talking a bout a messias. Would just fit goku perfectly
The thing with Goku's theme is that it showcases something we've never seen before. It's angelic because it's brand new. With Gohan's theme, it's heavy and creates hype because we know what's happening. We don't immediately know that it's a new Super Saiyan form, but we've seen Gohan explode before, just never as a Super Saiyan. So we know what we're seeing.
Actually, Goku's SSJ theme was already playing when SSJ Gohan demonstrates his power against Cell before starting his fight with him. And it was awesome!
Goku's theme definitely gives the vibe of continuous, unadulterated change, as you can see during Gohan raging up when the tense minor chords come in, then buffing up while the music softens and still buffing while it picks up. With Gohan's Anger, it's a lot more emotionally charged, with that early minor riff over Goku's line, and then the progressional transformation when the piano comes in, with the epic complete pause when he transforms and the break in of the heaviest part of the song with his completed transformation in full view.
Gohans scene is better emotionally and cause we were growing with him etc. Gokus scene is better in the way of background and how it looks cooler and more epic visually Gohan had way better build up for multiple arcs and the fact he couldn't win till now made it better. With Goku its not as good cause he was glazed by the writing for the whole series. Gohan may not have trained as much but he suffered so much since he was a little child, and the fact that he often felt helpless made this better
These themes work well swapped, but it still works better the original way. Goku's theme really gives off the whole "fulfilling a legendary badass prophecy" vibe, Gohan's theme quite literally feels like a heartbeat, like "this child has been beaten and abused and lost so much and now he's been tragically forced past his breaking point" One makes you feel like "holy shit he's finally gonna do it", and the other makes you think "this poor kid needs a hug. . . Afrer he saves the world of course. Definitely needs a hug though"
Goku’s theme had a sense of mystery and badassery to it to balance. It was our first time seeing a super saiyan and the music fit perfectly. Goku’s anger rising with the angelic tones gave you a sense that his anger was there but it was still … “Goku’s quiet fury” in a sense until that break chord where Goku tilts his head back and his hair turns blonde for a second and then the characters and audience alike are like “Did you just see that?” From then on, The music shifts to something else like … “This isn’t goku’s quiet fury, This is something we haven’t seen before” and goku transforms finally into a super saiyan. Gohans theme portrays something else. A gentle souls that is always willing to help, Something Innocent in the piano rift that implies that there’s in something deeper that always comes to light when it is justified. Gohans desperation and pleading with cell to command the cell Juniors to stop while the piano riff plays signifying a child crying but not out of violence but a general plea for his friends. The base line in the break signifying the calm before the storm. Then The louder guitar riff comes in showing that asking isn’t an option anymore and that true anger has set in and Gohan starts to bulk up and transform into his super saiyan 2 form. The Violin when gohan screams telling us that he’s fully gone over the edge and his explosion of anger is inevitable now. I don’t prefer them switched and there are moments in the series where gohan will power up to his fathers theme music to show that he is indeed his fathers son But gohans theme gave him his own light to step away from goku’s and for the time become his successor.
Wouldn't switch them personally, gohan's theme is more emotional and kinda resonates with gohan not wanting to be violent. Sure, goku's big thing was mercy, but he was always willing to fight with his full power and loved fighting.
Gohan's anger worked really well with Goku. Something about that theme just gives me chills. You could play it while Vegeta's taking a dump and I'd still say "that's beautiful 🥲" Gohan with goku's theme.... not as much but still decent
Both were pretty good, but I think Gohan's in particular has a sort of.. dissociative? aspect to it that really makes it sit at home much better with Gohan. After all, Gohan is kind of helpless in this situation until he takes the mantle and decides enough is enough, and I think his theme emphasizes that in a way. In Goku's case, he's sort of accepted that he's the only one who could stand up to Freeza, and his theme feels very focused in a way that plays into his role in the arc, imo. Again, these were fine to listen to and a fun experiment, but it also helps me further appreciate the original placement of these tracks.
Looks like I kicked the weebhive.
