  • In this video we will be doing a 3x3 Transmission fluid change w/Amsoil and a quick test drive after. Now I've used Honda ATF since ownership of the car and I've done some research and learned that Amsoil ATF supposedly is much better than Honda ATF and can handle the hotter temperature. Now don't take my word for it. I recommend you doing some research before using Amsoil and read the forum on Google or Acurazine like I've done. You can use Honda ATF, Amsoil, Redline ect, which ever your preferences are, but I'm just showing you how to do a 3x3 Transmission fluid ATF change.
    tools needed
    1- ratchet with size 11/16 socket
    2- ratchet extension (floor jack pole if needed)
    3- floor jack
    4- jack stands
    5- rags
    6- oil pan w/long neck funnel
    7- cardboard box to lay on
    8- gloves

    these videos you’ve been uploading is gods works, seriously. Been doing a lot of research since my transmission seems to be giving out and you have the blueprint to everything! definitely gonna try this, power switches, and solenoids before i surrender to a new transmission.

    I came across your videos and i will say they are very informative. Very simple and effective.
    I also has a Gen 3 Acura TL. Recently it broke down. It seems to be a transmission slip, when i accelerate the vehicle it doesn't move, the rpm's go up but no movement.
    Ive been watching your videos on the solenoid gasket repair, transmission filter change, & this video.
    What steps would you recommend to diagnose what the issue could be. Should i just change everything out. I honeslty havent done the maintenance on this vehicle. I hope i do not have to swap out the transmission. I do plan on changing everything out as your videos have been very helpful, much appreciated by the way.

      Thanks for the kind words. Your transmission not engaging while the rpm going up is a sign of both your transmission and torque converter going bad. I wouldn't recommend doing all of the maintenance that you mentioned as it'll be a waste of money and i dont want you to be stranded on the road somewhere. I would recommend swapping out the transmission, then you can do a 3x3 transmission fluid change, transmission solenoid replacement and filter replacement etc. Or just get it rebuild whichever choice you're comfortable with. Hope this helps!!!

      @@BayViewzthank you so much. My last resort will be to pull out the rebuild card, however I appreciate your insight. I will be uploading a video about it on my channel soon & will hopefully get my build going. I look forward seeing your channel grow. The TL community is clean bro

    Thank you very much for this video. I have a 2004 Acura too with 260k miles. I was about to spend good money on it.
    By the way, has your Acura ever started blinking the D panel green light?

      @BayViewz  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes it happened twice. The culprit was a bad 3rd & 4th pressure switches. Buy original only.

    So does 1x1 fluid change mean you only drain and refill it once? 2x2 is doing it twice, and 3x3 you did it three times? What is the benefits to doing this, it removes all the dark colours from the fluid? I heard of a 1x2 is that a thing?

    • @BayViewz
      @BayViewz  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I never heard of 1×2. But yes! You do a 3×3 to drain out almost all of the old fluid. Now I said almost all because you can't completely drain it out from the torque converter. So each time you do a drain and refill, drive for like 10 to 15 mins and then drain and refill. Do this 3 times and then change out the transmission filter afterwards. You're thank me later lol!

      @@BayViewz I live in Canada so for some reason I couldn’t find any amsoil at any nearby stores like Walmart and Canadian tire so I ended up doing a 1x1 but changed my transmission filter 2 years ago, idk when I’ll do it again since I don’t wanna risk blowing this beast up lol. But I see how the recirculating allows the fluid to be red and stuff with the 3x3 method because my fluid is still very dark and almost black after the 1x1

    Hello, I bought everything I needed and went to work on it. Jut to figure out that there is a cover in my car that prevents me from accessing the transmission fluid drain. Idk what to do now :( I don't trust a mechanic to fuck my transmission. Any advice?
    Thank you as always!

    • @BayViewz
      @BayViewz  19 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      They're held on by plastic clips. Just make sure you have replacements in case they break when you take them out. Use a pry clip tool or a flat head screw driver. Take pics/videos before you take everything out. Hope this helps!

    i know on this gen tl when slowing down/ light braking . sometimes the trans will downshift hard into 3rd or 4th gear. did you notice any improvement with that with the amsoil

    • @BayViewz
      @BayViewz  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I never had that issue before or after using Amsoil. I did noticed when shifting from park to reverse to drive it shifted into gears immediately. It wasn't sticky or lagging like the Honda ATf. Shifts are much smoother with no hesitation. Give it a go and let me know the outcome.

    would that fluid work for my 05 TL? does the year matter? just making sure.
    also i seen your other video on replacing the transmission filter. What do you recommend on doing first ?

    • @BayViewz
      @BayViewz  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @ulyssescovarrubias8460 The Amsoil ATF is good for 2004 - 2008 Acura TLs. You can go to their website just to make sure. I would recommend doing a 3×3 ATF change first and then change out the transmission filter after.

    do you need to drive around after you shift between each change? also, have you ever tried the other method by draining the remaining transmission via cooler line?

    • @BayViewz
      @BayViewz  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      After each fluid change 3x3 shift it slowly from park, neutral, drive, low gear and then manumatic. Do this twice and then drive around for at least 10 min.
      No I haven't drained the remaining fluid through the cooler line.

    How is your car (transmission) doing with Amsoil ATF?
    I would like to change mind also. Because I think I got the fake Honda ATF-DW1 making my trans leak.

    • @BayViewz
      @BayViewz  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don't think any atf brand should make your transmission leak. Did you tighten up the bolt? The Amsoil is amazing! Transmission is super smooth and feels much stronger almost like new. I've been using Honda atf my whole life and I can honestly say with Amsoil you can feel a big difference. Try it for yourself and let me know the outcome.

    Why Amsoil and not Honda ATF?

    • @BayViewz
      @BayViewz  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I've used Honda ATF since owning this car and changed to Amsoil last year. It holds a higher rating in heating, a little bit thicker and the transmission feels much smoother with no delay in shifts or changing gears from park, neutral, reverse and drive. Also I heard nothing but good things about Amsoil. With the Honda ATF it was the complete opposite lol. Try it for yourself!

      The only issue I have is the transmission being too smooth lol. But honestly, I've had no problems, no lags and the transmission feels butterly smooth and much stronger. It shifts from PRND with no lag or hesitation.
