    this is ONLY can apply for the tails that WAS SPRAYED/TINTED in red.
    not the OEM stock red which it originally came out from the factory where they injected during the process to produce the red tails light. take note guys

      No dude.. this is an aftermarket paint job somebody used on the outside of the tail lights. Any regular lights that are red or amber colored have dyes inserted in the molding process and there is no way to remove those colors. You can spray red,amber, or tint shade paint and do this to remove later but IT WILL NOT WORK ON REGULAR STOCK LIGHTS!!!

      Danny Reyna thank you for the feed back. What are you having problems with? I can try to help if you would like. One thing that made a huge difference was just letting it soak in for a min to where you could see the carb cleaner start to dry then spray it again. Danny Reyna oh that's not fun. You could try to use your finger nails too to scratch them off. You finger nails are softer than the plastic and won't scratch it. • @ModdingAddiction

      I’m not sure about the clear. It only attacks the paint in the VHT paint. The clear would make it a little harder to get off but you can still try to spray it. The plastic is what you want yo keep safe and it won’t react with the cleaner. I would say give it a shot on a corner and see how it reacts

      Yes this will work on OEM tail lights BUT only if the tail lights are painted red. However there are very few OEM lights that are painted red. The majority of tail lights use a red piece of plastic to color the red portion. This will NOT work if the light has the red piece of plastic.

      @@jahwarrior965 so I did find out that the bulbs were indeed red however there is a draw back. In that link I posted you will find 2 different avalons. 1 that's white and blue tented tail lights and the 2nd, red with clear. You can do this same process but when you go to remove the red away from the lens it come off as a strip. It's my educated guess that the pics show a custom tent used in place of the red. Either done by toyota or by dub. The drawback is that it's hard for anyone to see you from behind during daylight hours, when engaging the brake lights. The glare from the sun can make it look like your not breaking. So will this method work, yes. Is there a safety issue, most definitely. I chose not to go with this mod.

    Does it work for the stock tint?

    • @ModdingAddiction
      @ModdingAddiction  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      HUMMM that is a good question. The reason that this works is the carb cleaner its away at the adhesive that holds the paint together. With a stock light I don't see them being painted but rather have the plastic tinted. I could be wrong with that but it makes the most sense. Carb cleaner doesn't harm plastics so you could try a small area and see. I would spray the carb cleaner on a towel and try to rub it off. Please let me know if you try this and your results. Im very curious on how this goes. What type of car is it on that has tinted tail lights?

      If the tail lights have a paint coating to make them red then yes this will work. However if the plastic is died before it’s made you will never be able to get it off. You can always try a small area that is inconspicuous and see if they are painted or not

    I saw an after video where the guy showed results using carb cleaner and his lights have crows feet and have also damaged the original paint while even causing a small crack to emerge all of which he never had before. Is there any good products that are actually safe for plastic? Goo gone does the same thing as carb cleaner it says on the bottle not safe for plastic so just by wiping it down right after spraying it once you've gotten all the paint off will that ensure that it doesnt damage it? Can you share an after video showing results and If it honestly caused you any harm to the lights or if just by wiping it down removing the product when your done was enough to not damage it cuz u removed the harmful toxic remover

      I used the carb cleaner on the tail lights with no problem. It wasn’t until I tried to clean them with isopropyl alcohol that the plastic spider cracked on me. I was trying to remove the diffuser in the lenses by sanding and cleaning with the alcohol. That’s when the lenses had these internal spider cracks but up until that point they were perfectly fine from the carb cleaner
