On the night of Oct. 3, 2003, the 'Siegfried and Roy' show went horribly wrong when Roy Horn's tiger, Mantecore, became confused. After a failed attempt to refocus the tiger, Horn fell underneath him.

ONCE AGAIN.....Anyone expecting them to upload the END of this story...you will be disappointed. They do this with EVERY story they upload because they're idiots and think you will now go to their website to see the end. Little do they understand....90% of people watch this on their SMART TVS AND CAN'T GO TO THE WEBSITE. But they don't care. Dont fall for these Prt 1, Prt 2 videos in the future... You'll just end up irritated.
I tried to get the ending at the 20/20 website, and it said because I wasn't in the United States I could not view it. Of course we know how it ends, but really it would have been nice to see it all.

Ok, so I remember when this happened, could never forget it...as they explained in this series, the stage was completely opened, no barrier at all. People who sat in the front had a full view and the tigers were on a chain, and Roy would run around the stage with them. It was essential that Roy kept the tigers' focus on him, not on the audience. While the tigers were use to the audience, it could still "throw them off" of their conditioning to just follow Roy's lead. People obviously would take video of the show, especially this segment of Roy running with the beautiful white tiger. There is footage that someone in the audience took of that night, just before the attack. A very large man sitting in the front row suddenly jumps up from his seat to take a picture (or get a better look...) and you can see Montecore was startled and turned to look at the man. I believe this is how the whole tragedy started. It took Montecore "off his game", and thus his not behaving as Roy commanded. Then when Roy tripped over Montecore's front paw, and went down, hard, in front of Montecore, that signalled Montecore's TIGER instinct, the instinct for thousands of years that could NOT be erased by Roy's training or conditioning of his tigers. And so Montecore did what came NATURALLY to him, and attacked Roy. So very sad and tragic, for both human and animal. Here is the lesson: wild animals do NOT belong in a zoo, a circus or any other form of ENTERTAINMENT purposes. Thank you.
Sounds like they were very lucky the tiger didn't jump in the audience instead, could have become a much bigger disaster.

I appreciate Roy and Siegfried for their talent and hard work but I have been saying this for years Animals need to be left alone in their domain.

A overpopulizing, extincting 'human' is talking About TRUST?!!??? We mistreating animals worse than any hellish imagination. I cannot see any blame the tiger did anything wrong, the tiger didn't want to harm Roy at all. He just carried him away like they would pull their cubs away from a dangerous Situation. Just like Roy knowing best by living, sleeping, swimming, riding, for 40 yrs. always endlessly repeated. After all Roy is the expert and not some self-proclaimed jackass thinking they can puke their uneducated gossip all over just cuz they know 3 headlines and seen 15 minutes of a legacy.
Animals can be WAY better family than any negative trash humans, no matter if dogs, pigs, pigeons, chimpanzees, cats or tigers. Yeah my cat can scratch me during playtimes if it gets a bit wildly - whatever - but certainly not because she intentionally wants to harm me, she loves me truely instead of being twofaced and moneygreedy. Your specism is the reason why this earth is as evil as it is. Surely not of (white) tigers and few special ppl like Siegfried & Roy saving them instead of extincting like your low-class ass only running after the masses and only able to produce unnecessary children. You are irrelevant to history plus Mother Earth's disease. She'd rather have more than 500 tigers and at least 7 billion out of 8 billion humans less!

The animals became very tired and stressed. It is so normal for the animals to attack when they are under huge stress. They did non-stop shows. It took a toll on them.
Beautiful animals, beautiful show, sad ending all the way around. I saw the show once from high above the crowd. It was a little careless to expose the people to these wild animals tho.

Why didn’t they have a tranquilizer pointed at the tigers in a case of an emergency? Would it not have worked in time? So sad.
Because the medication takes 5 - 10 minutes (min) to work.
Do you know what any of these animals can do within 1 second? You often can't even shoot an animal when one of them attacks because the blood loss will NOT STOP THE ATTACK AND THE HUMAN WILL BE GONE BEFORE THE ANIMAL.
And being poked will piss them off even more, so the tranqu will agitate the animal further, before the medication kicks in.....and they could potentially go mental . They use CO2 spray in training with big animals instead, fire extinguisher if you will. The noise and cold is what they don´t like.

I'm pretty sure I think it was the loud noise of the microphone hitting the Tiger that caused him to make his choice between attacking him or just ignoring his commands. That and because they can always sense how the person is feeling they said that he missed his mark which may have caused Roy to be a little nervous about what the tiger was going to do so that didn't help either and obviously both of those things on top of him falling and being in a position that a tiger in the wild would consider to be time to attack just completes the circle
Everyone went to the same surgeon, faces are pulled so tight 😆😆😆🤣

as a big Siegfried and Roy fan, and has been for many years, my only way to watch the 20/20 special was through youtube
only to find out its been cut short
as i live in the UK, there is no other way to watch, as all the websites say your not in the United States.

Here's something not investigated about unnatural white tigers, Bengals (Siberians can't be white) which I researched. Rather insightful! They aren't albinos, they live fewer years too - read on.
