I got the ROG Ally Z1 just to play Cyberpunk (not picky on settings being high) & tho I've literally not been a regular gamer since WoW Mists of Pandaria came out & my dad decided it wasn't worth us playing it anymore, I have wanted to play CP2077 since it came out. I got a PS4 pro 3 months before it came out & obviously didn't get to play it then. I probly could get it to run now on the Ally, but I have had way too much going on in my life to have the time & energy to try getting used to the controls, let alone be able to keep up with something as complex as Cyberpunk. I guess it would be pointless for me to sell this Z1 & upgrade to the Ally X? 😮💨
I like the battery life because we have never really seen good battery life on a windows handheld before now. But I massively prefer steam deck OLED. For that OLED screen with HDR and the ergonomics and trackpads and better joysticks and such. I don't really care much about performance. Everything gets locked to 30fps or 45fps and I turn down the TDP as far as I can. Battery life is more than good enough I think. Plus steam OS is just better than windows.

Got some traveling I’m doing next and looking to get a handheld. Most going to play Halo and COD. Would this system run those games without issues? If it wasn’t obvious, I’m not tech-savvy. Thanks in advance.
I urge potential buyers to lurk the ally subreddits. Issues over and over again. Win updates conflicting with current drivers. People rolling back to make things playable again. Thumb sticks and buttons not properly lubricated from manufacturing and the "community" mocks people for not lubing themselves. All on a device that costs twice as much as the competition.
there are so many people who have no problems, you only see the people with problems though. I know a person who got theirs replaced easily. It’s not as bad as many say
My only huge issue is the screen size coming from the legion go and even trying the ps portal man does the 7 inch screen just feel tiny. If it had an 8+ inch screen it be perfect imo.
I’ve had the device for a month now and it’s great just wish some features worked better Like clicking and dragging, and to be able to play mmos better
Is it worth selling my steam deck oled and buying the ally x? I’m interested in modding games and emulation and I’ve been very satisfied with my steam deck, but I want to know if the ally x is so much better that I should upgrade.
Might sound silly but i need to know. I have ally x, just got it. For thr command center toggle it says AFMF. Is that AFMF 2 or do i need to install 2 some how? Like do i have the old version?
I got my Ally X 2 months ago. At first I was skeptical because I absolutely love my Steam Deck OLED and I was afraid I wasn’t gonna like the LCD screen on the Ally X. But surprisingly the screen is actually really really good. I haven’t touched my Deck OLED since I got my Ally X. It just plays everything better with double the FPS. Games that struggled to run on the Deck the Ally X eats them for breakfast. It has become my daily as well.
@@LaymanGamin why would I lie? Are you dumb? My Steam Deck felt like it was gonna explode running Final Fantasy 16 barely hitting 30-20FPS on low settings. And on my ROG Ally X it easily hits 60+ FPS on medium to high settings.

@@CyberDopamine I mean, Nintendo managed to do it with their switch? And its only $349. Sure its not 120hz but surely the $800 asking price should cover the extra costs nicely.
@DrakonR, clearly you're uneducated about modern OLED screens. It took 3600 hours for the Switch OLED to have burn-in, and only because the tester intentionally left a still image on for 3600 hours, at full brightness. If you're playing a game, the colors are changing constantly which avoids burn-in. Unless you are incredibly weird and like to stare at a still image for thousands of hours.
Everyone upset about ps5 pro costing $960 CAD. Yet here this thing is at $1100 CAD. Way too expensive. It's 100% not worth over double of the LCD steam deck at $500 CAD. The new chipset is supposed to be way more expensive too. So what is gen 2 going to cost? $1400+ CAD for a handheld? Get out of here.
My Ally I got right before the x was released, has the right joystick not working right ever since I started using my Xbox controller, now I'm stuck with using the Xbox controller. I need to have it RMA'd unless it's user error lol.
Porsche Cayman....i see the most of them on the side off the road...but why buy a Rog Ally X and you need to tinker to put Bazzite on it just to play games more smooth. Imho dual booting defeats the whole purpose of a gaming handheld. When i think of a gaming handheld i think of a device you can just pickup and go without the need of extra steps or to dual boot. So no imho its not a Porsche Cayman its a slavic Lada who needs maintenance during its drive....
Wish I had this instead of Steam Deck OLED. I'm good with Steam Deck OLED playing retro/2d/before 2020 games, fine. Moonlight my 2020+ games but damn, that one looks so better

I have the steam deck OLED and I have the first rog Ally they both have there own little thing to them but I do find myself playing on the rog Ally way more and I was at best buy just the other day and a guy had the new rog Ally X on him and he let me check it out and now I want one lol and I’m thinking of getting rid of my steam deck just so I can get the new rog Ally X but that’s me others would probably say the steam deck but overall it up to you on what want not others have a good day and be safe
ROG Ally X allows me to touch grass and play games. Best of both worlds....
That jawline is immaculate. I can tell you've been looksmaxxing
yeah, i got 4Tb, go full bazzite, and never look back. Love the device!!
Very good video, thank you!🎉
I like the battery life because we have never really seen good battery life on a windows handheld before now.
Dude you do know that there is a dual booth on ally right? Also valve confirmed that steam OS will come with ally also valve said it will also support VRR, 120hz and 1080p config on steamOS on ally. AMFM is windows only.

10. Please suggest a game for me not on my list 😊
Side note. My TV and ally X support freesync premium. And I will say, Forget buying a PC. You font need it. This thing plays everything! Theres not 1 game it doesnt run.
😅😅so far 1.5 month in I’m good
there are so many people who have no problems, you only see the people with problems though. I know a person who got theirs replaced easily. It’s not as bad as many say
@@Lxght_Lxght my models each had issues. It's a manufacturing issue, get over it.
What settings are you using for battlefield 2042 (VRAM, in-game, etc)? I can't get it to run on my Ally x without a ton of stuttering
Never thought I'd see a windows handheld device & a sports car in the the same title xD
My only huge issue is the screen size coming from the legion go and even trying the ps portal man does the 7 inch screen just feel tiny. If it had an 8+ inch screen it be perfect imo.
Love the car comparison titles, can't wait til we see which handheld runs like a public bus. 😂
hahahaahaah that is funny!!!!
So have you had any problems yet with squeaky triggers or squeaky d-pad?
I’ve had the device for a month now and it’s great just wish some features worked better
Like clicking and dragging, and to be able to play mmos better
Do you recommend buying first the Rog Allay Z1 Extreme (white) and waiting for The Rog Allay 2??? In my country its 300 $ more, two used ps5
Please capture this video in 60fps. This video currently didn't have 60fps option, lame
Mannnnn I thought this thing was on fire in your hands bro 😂😂😂😂😂 I was scrolling on YT and thought your game was burning🤣
I just bought my Ally X and I hate that I can't put my nose in the exhaust and sniff like I did with my Steam Deck
4:35
We don't want that on a handheld because of its terrible input delay. On some games its a deal breaker.
Would you recommend a steam deck oled over the legion go? I have an ally x already and used to have the oled but I regret selling it lol
rog ally x is a beast i changed the ssd to samsung pro 990 4T with heatsink it's so fast... what was the game you played start of your video ????
I would really want one but not for 800-900 euros, 600 is what I would pay max
Wyatt from ozark good review
Is it still a good idea to dual boot Bazzite on to the Ally X?
Yes 100%
@@CyberDopamine
That’s good I will definitely install Bazzite 🙂🙂👍🏻
Hey man. I got confused. You meant 120 hz? Or ally x can go upto 144hz.
I was like wait what, it's already Ally X 3? When was the Ally X 2 released?
Is it worth selling my steam deck oled and buying the ally x? I’m interested in modding games and emulation and I’ve been very satisfied with my steam deck, but I want to know if the ally x is so much better that I should upgrade.
Wait for the ally 2
Quality content man. Subbed
Might sound silly but i need to know. I have ally x, just got it. For thr command center toggle it says AFMF. Is that AFMF 2 or do i need to install 2 some how? Like do i have the old version?
Which one should i buy the steamdeck oled or asus rog ally x?
I got my Ally X 2 months ago. At first I was skeptical because I absolutely love my Steam Deck OLED and I was afraid I wasn’t gonna like the LCD screen on the Ally X. But surprisingly the screen is actually really really good. I haven’t touched my Deck OLED since I got my Ally X. It just plays everything better with double the FPS. Games that struggled to run on the Deck the Ally X eats them for breakfast. It has become my daily as well.
Why lie? It makes everything else u say seem false 😂. Quite a few of us have ally x. And it’s definitely not even NEAR double the fps smh
@@LaymanGamin why would I lie? Are you dumb? My Steam Deck felt like it was gonna explode running Final Fantasy 16 barely hitting 30-20FPS on low settings. And on my ROG Ally X it easily hits 60+ FPS on medium to high settings.
@@kuramakun84 on 1080p? yeah nah LOL

What docking station is that?
When is the next gen ROG coming? Just wondering
Even the fly got some gaming on.

I just don't understand why they cheaped out on the screen. Asus sells $400 laptops with 120hz OLED screens. This is an $800 device.
it has to do with manufacturing. they could go oled but the screen would have to be a smartphone screen. if they bigger it would have to be a tablet screen. unless they make their own display which it’s a ton of money
@@CyberDopamine I mean, Nintendo managed to do it with their switch? And its only $349. Sure its not 120hz but surely the $800 asking price should cover the extra costs nicely.
Not everyone wants a screen that will eventually burn in.
@@Paulo-i9h as someone who has experienced burn in, I'm the opposite of uneducated. Try again basement dweller.
Is there really a big difference between SD oled and rog ally ips panel?

This thing is awesome
Idk if the porsche cayman is a good comparison. A Porsche cayman isn't really a daily driver... Can I get that wallpaper tho at 0:50
To me not having a trackpad is a huge deal breaker.
Can you do a video with ge force now ultimate and the rog ally x ? Like a review are something
This sealed my decision for sure
Everyone upset about ps5 pro costing $960 CAD. Yet here this thing is at $1100 CAD. Way too expensive. It's 100% not worth over double of the LCD steam deck at $500 CAD.
The new chipset is supposed to be way more expensive too. So what is gen 2 going to cost? $1400+ CAD for a handheld? Get out of here.
its not 144hz, its 120hz, sir
What is it's like a porsche cayman even supposed to mean?
A good thing, a bad thing? Please explain cuz google isnt giving me anything
More fps and more battery are far more important. You don't need to put bazzite just use the steam big picture mode.
Am I the only one that thinks this dude looks and sounds like Andrew Garfield?
i wanted to know how is the adjustment of not having trackpads and the extra back buttons?
I never use both of them
man, i want one so bad
1:14 Which model of keyboard is it?
It looks like Asus ROG Falchion RX
Wish I had this instead of Steam Deck OLED. I'm good with Steam Deck OLED playing retro/2d/before 2020 games, fine. Moonlight my 2020+ games but damn, that one looks so better
Since I got one I haven’t touched my Steamdeck
windows ruins everything
@@anderpresssure I don’t know if you have one, but windows isn’t that big of an issue. It isn’t perfect, but it hasn’t given me any true headaches yet. There’s always Linux too, Bazzite is similar to Steam os
@@anderpresssure That is the only issue I have preventing me from buying an Ally X. The industry needs to ditch Windows and support SteamOS and other Linux based operating systems.
@@Sleepeaze I don't like the fact that Windows has Recall and that Microsoft X-Box has agreed to spy on gamers on behalf of the government to combat extremism.
What are those CSS plugins?
Here's the thing. Price wise, this isn't worth it. Especially that you're going to need Bazzite to get it to where a handheld gaming machine should be. And again, the performance bump isn't worth the 2-3x price vs the OLED.
Whats the deal with bazzite,am playing games without it and it works so?
How do u installed afmf 2?
Deffo getting by the end of the year
Heck yeah you will love
