For people that don't watch MotoGP, this is kind of like if Lewis left Merc for Alpha Tauri because they stopped investing in F1, and were phoning it in. While Alpha Tauri was able to use last seasons Red Bull as their car for the current season.
@@atishaykankaria4461 no it isn't. no part is closer. That analogy isn't even tenuously accurate. Lewis was the WDC in 2020 and Merc was the WCC. The Mercedes was the dominant car and team. Repsol Honda is in the complete opposite position to Merc in 2020 Gresini is racing the 2022 spec Ducati, it's not trying to copy a different teams bike from the season before. It is directly being given the previous seasons spec of bike from Ducati. No idea what aspect of Racing Point you're even attempting to use to equate it to Gresini. It seems like you just tried to use them since they copied the 2019 Merc for 2020. But this doesn't work because again, Gresini didn't copy the previous season Ducati. They are a Ducati satellite team
I was watching an old MotoGP vid from you guys back in 2020 (about Valentino Rossi) and I wish you guys made more MotoGP content. It's simply just awesome.
Now we are talking, this is the only channel I've found that tells trustworthy news, just pro journalism. Thank you so much and keep up with the great work
As a regular watcher, I really thank The Race to venture out of F1. Their website already covers everything, and its good to see them replicating that in youtube as well. I hope you all bring content from other racing series such as indycar as well.
I think Marc is very desperate seeing how quick Ducati is. Back to 2019, he was the reason why Honda got their development correctly and better but he knew that one day Ducati would chase his development sooner or later. Not just them but the other factory-backed teams also. And yet, he was right. Honda collapsed just like when Rossi moved to Yamaha, as they lost their icon for once more.
Lmao, keep dreaming boy. He's not going to equal let alone Rossi's record anytime soon, not even with a satellite Ducati and with Bagnaia and Martín in the form of their lives.
It's hard to know how good Marc is right now, the Honda was that bad of a bike. But while scoring average results compared to the competition, he did pretty much run circles around the other Honda riders in the last few races showing signs that he still might have it. It will be interesting to see what he can do on a Ducati. Especially also since in the last few years MotoGP bikes have evolved a lot with aero and devices which shifted a lot of the performance impact toward the bike and away from the rider, meaning rider skill can make less of a difference now compared to before.
I was actually scared for Marc this year especially after all the wrecks @ the Sachsenring. I think that was when he came to terms with things. If he kept riding that bike he was going to get seriously injured or worse.
honestly this is just a check-up for Marquez to see if he's still fit and able to fight for proper positions. If he finds himself good enough, he'll be aiming for a factory bike in 2025. I don't think he's worried about winning a championship in 2024, maybe just compete for races. Specially because Gresini seems to be the bottom of the 4 Ducati teams in terms of know-how and support.
Really happy seeing a non-F1 video on this channel. Quality is still up there with this video and I'm glad to see something from another series. There's more to motorsports than F1 and it deserves being featured just as much.
Good move for The Race on covering this story. I would like to hear more from this channel about WEC, IMSA and WRC. Take your time to improve guys and gals.
Wow, I believe this is the first video about MotoGP since I subscribed in the early last year. Please do WorldSBK as well, Sir, I'am just a total nerd in terms of these 3 motorsports (MGP, F1, WorldSBK).
lately I started watching motogp (partly due to them hosting race in my country this year) and man it is so much exciting & unpredictable (unlike f1 most races), wish I started watching motogp earlier. More content on motogp is a welcome addition to this channel
This move is incomparable to Rossi's; Rossi moved when Honda was on the top to Yamaha that barely finished in the podium in 03, while Marc will move from the absolute slowest bike on the grid to the more competitive team-bike combination. This move is more comparable to Rossi's comeback to Yamaha in 13; he rejected the lucrative extension deal from Ducati to become the arguably 2nd factory Yamaha rider behind Lorenzo in order to save his career and legacy.
No doubt Marquez will do better on a Ducati than Honda at the moment. But it's not a clear cut thing, it's dependent on riding style. Didn't hear any of these 'experts' mention anything about riding technique and chemistry with the bike and I don't even follow MotoGP that closely. Rossi went to Ducati and failed miserably trying to replicate what Casey Stoner had done there. I rate Marquez better than Rossi however and I think he will adapt well assuming injuries won't get in the way.
I think Simon is wrong here. Having a year old bike means being armed with all the data from previous years. Means the bike will have a good base setting and Marc will be able to show his class. Marc is unmatched at riding around problems. That Ducati bike is going to feel so much better than what he is used to. The factory team had better look out. Don't forget he will be working in a team with his brother and that should not be underestimated.
Rossi's transition to Yamaha and Marquez's transition to Ducati cannot be compared. Rossi's move was a continuation of his championship journey, while Marquez's marks his retirement. I hope before he kills himself or someone else.
1) Honda Had a bike anyone could ride for a while due to actually having racers that can develop a bike. 2) After Honda got Marc, they slowly stopped listening to anyone else and focused on making a bike only Marc could ride. 3) The modern honda ended the career of Dani and Jorge two undeniably great riders the smoothest guys to ever grace the grid. 4) Dani's performance and development of the KTM is proof of of his talent that honda let languish due to arrogance. 5) Rins bailed one year in on the Honda, because they treated Rins with little respect even after being the only rider to win on that bike this year. 6) Mir isn't going to do anything on the Honda, hell the front end feel of the suzuki had him all at sea the last few years how he thought the honda was better is beyond me. He'll jump if given the chance. Now Honda has a bike not even Marc can ride because he obviously cant develop a bike & Honda clearly isn't listing to him now anyway, the ducati arc will be interesting after that I'll bet he'll make the Jump to KTM in 2025.
agreed with points 2-6... 1 isn't that true. it always has been a rabid beast to control, they just got greats in Doohan, Rossi Stoner,Pedrosa & Marquez.. who could always ride a untamable beast. on a side note i am so happy to see you being a old Moto GP fan XD
Marc is not a guy you should bet against. I don't care if its a customer bike, because the gap between factory and customer bike is a lot closer then it used to be. If I was Bagnaia I would be nervous.
Some years ago I thought Marc Marquez would be the next Valentino Rossi. A motogp legend with many victories. He was so young and were always near the top or the first. Then it just went south
This spices up next season for sure! Has MM still got it? I've wanted MM to change bikes for years - well before 2020, just to mix it up a bit a stop seeing a Repsol Honda winning. Obviously a Repsol Honda winning in recent years has been a rare sight and partly started because of Marc's injuries in 2020 (which is not what anyone wanted to see). Always assumed he'd move to KTM if and when the time came, maybe he still will, but regardless - next season really could have a new contender if Marc still has the ability.
Honda can spend it's money on development isntead of wasted talent and Marc can possibly win another title, honestly sounds kinda like a win win to me lol
For context, Rossi left a winning Honda (RC211V) to move to a non winning Yamaha (M1). Whilst MM is leaving a non winning Honda for a dominating Ducati. Rossi was taking a much bigger risk, and he didint 'break' a factory contract (although I doubt many ppl have actually seen MM/Honda contract).....
Agreed. This is nothing like the Rossi leaving Honda for Yamaha. Rossi actually took a chance and turned the Yamaha around. MM really isn't risking much, the Ducati is dominant under any team. I'll never forget him winning the first race of the season on the Yamaha. MM will never be as good as Rossi
@@kafmmaclub me also. I thought he was crying when he sat facing and holding the front fairing of the bike on the cool down lap. I think (from memory) in his book he said he was laughing. I think though that Rossi not being successful forced their hand to hire GG, after all if the GOAT can't win on your bike (nobody except Stoner), it's probably your bike not the riders..👍
At the moment, The best motorcycle racing in the world is WSBK, many who were rejected by Motogp, are thriving, Toprak is arguably the best we have ever seen, and he does it without questionable manoeuvres.
What if he is thinking differently. He knew that KTM is a bit far from reach eventhough its obvious that he wants to be there. Could he accepts deal in case Red Bull Racing offer him a seat instead of Checo next year. That would actually shock the world. ☝
Sorry Mr. Irish MotoGP podcast guy, if satellite teams don't win championships, whats Martin doing up at the top of the championship? 😉 I'm only playing around. I know he hasn't won anything yet and for the most part, your pretty much 100% correct. Weird things happen sometimes. Also, sometimes freaks freak us out. Marquez is a freak so if anyone can do the impossible, its him (5 years ago anyway. Not sure if he still has it after all that punishment to his poor body). I'd rather see him on the factory Ducati but I'm excited to see what he can do on that old bike. It'll be exciting anyway. (I hope)
Valentino's move to Yamaha is riskier as he went from the dominant bike to the weakest one (yamaha was on the brink of quitting MotoGP). Marquez, on the other hand, signed with the best bike on the grid.
IF... and I repeat IF.... this all goes ahead! The lack of a Marquez announcement at the Japan GP was a massive indicator of these machinations. I'm no Marquez fan but I am a fan of his riding talents and am Very keen to see if all the surgeries have corrected his problems. Thus allowing him to shine with the 3 title contenders on a Ducati.
Unfortunately it's called karma. This break of contract makes it seems Marc is willing to do anything to get his way, mirroring his style of on-track riding.
He should have left last season. Anyway this is still a very good news for him. Hopefully he can get the bike which can fight for the podium every race.
4:28 not always the case with the "flying first class", show up well rested argument. Look at John Britten. Him and his team worked for over 27 hours straight to get a bike fixed and ready for a race! And they got here flying scum class.
Not just honda. Japanese manufacturers all together are on a downhill. Dominace that they had with Rossi Lorenzo and Marquez are over. It's time for European manufacturers to rock. So right move, though one that's gonna stink for Honda. I hope Fabio makes a similar call. They are nowhere near the benchmark of Motogp.
Finally some MotoGP content. Even though it felt like an open secret after the catastrophic German GP and what he said after he tested the 2024 bike at testing, I still didn't think he would actually go through with it with one year still left on his contract and the fact that he just got a podium! But I guess there are so many injuries you can sustain.
Marc still has to get more comfortable on the Ducati than he has been on his evolved Honda … his brother made the switch, but I can imagine Marc not running as well as his brother …

Marquez is multiple world champ but thats the past and not enough respect is given to Pecco because of his demeanor nor to the current top riders, perhaps due to the bike theyre riding
The move of MM out of Honda to a satellite Ducati feels like if Hamilton suddendly decided to end his contract with Mercedes earlier due lack of winning package, and join Aston Martin or, using Ducati's scenarion into F1, to AlphaTauri. *That* much of a crazy move, it is, and on top of that, it's makes completely sense whatsoever and will probably work just fittingly nice. I'm more than intrigued to see how much fastness is left in Márquez after getting so beaten up by the Honda-bike for 3 or so years consecutively, but I'm sure '24 MotoGP season will be a very good one indeed. Can't wait to see more of MotoGP content here, it's always refreshing to see new channels talking about the beatifulness of the two-wheeled "F1", haha!
So according to Your man with SIX ROUNDS to go and THREE POINTS in it, Pecco Can’t possibly lose the title because his crew fly business class!🤔 yep, ok He’s the expert.👍
For people that don't watch MotoGP, this is kind of like if Lewis left Merc for Alpha Tauri because they stopped investing in F1, and were phoning it in. While Alpha Tauri was able to use last seasons Red Bull as their car for the current season.

Nice to see other content than f1!
