The most amazing about this is that, so far, its adaptations to aquatic life are almost entirely behavioral. It hasn't developed paddle-like legs, or a more streamlined body shape; just an ingenious use of silk and some air bubbles.
Imagine being the first spider few to do this, accidentally falling into the water. It some how naturally had the genetic mutation that favoured this and the environment provided it an abundance of food.
Gosh, the reflection off of the drop of water on that spider's body is magnificent

I hate spiders, but this was f*ckin sweet. Nature is incredible. The amount of adaptation and specialization is truly amazing.
We put petrol in the water to kill them. Id rather have a few dead turtles then walk past water knowing that spiders live in it!

Probably. They whole pokemon thing was inspired by the study of insects. 'Catching the all' is about finding and identifying rare insects.
