the year is 1997...Coming home on a Friday from school, rushing to get homework done, family in the backyard with friends and the smell of Bar-be-que filled the hot summer eve's air. I finish quick, rush to the family computer and load up the super slow (fast af at the time) Dell all in one computer..opened a file named "PC games" In it were Pitfall,Star Wars Jedi Knight II,Bass Fishing, and NFD II SE...double click and were off! After the lovely revving of engines intro this tune filled the air...I would sit in the media room and game for hours while the family laughed and had drinks by the pool with their friends. There were days I would just let the menu play over and over again with the goosebumps covering my body from pure bliss..I would imagine myself driving the McLaren around beachside and just blasting through traffic...man,being 9 was a great time in those summers...Now almost turning 34 I still get goosebumps 26yrs later, when I hear this song. The connection takes me back to simpler time..times when WASD ruled the realm, times when a mountain dew and Dorritos were all a kid needed, Times when you heard the ice cream truck you ran with everything in you....and if you're reading this, im sure the nostalgia has set in deep. Drive on my fellow nerds,we had it all
You’re scrolling through all the cars, cranking your speakers up and bopping your head to the menu music while you hear your CD-ROM drive spinning as loud as a hair dryer
@AQ_09 lol. This is goa trance. Goa trance sounds more "natural" than psy trance, which got more "space" vibe. Also including some indian motives. I have no clue, where it could feel gothic to you, where it is absolutely opposite. Psy/goa, which associates with space and nature, and gothic stuff, which is bound to man-made artificial objects, mostly

yea I was born in June 1993. I played nfs 2 first time in 1998 and was hooked on it for basically 3 years straight. Since in 2001 we moved countries. I have been looking for a working copy since then but haven't been able to find one sadly.
@@JKTProductionzIncNCoI was born on September 14, 1982 and what a great time it was. I also remember the first The need for speed title very vividly. There was also a song there that I had to listen to again and again. We had good times back then.

Surely the best thing you heard back then?

To increase the number of loops of each part of the song by 4 (or so) feels like being edged for 8 min straight because I know each part that should come up, but it always takes so long! :P
When racing games didnt cater to the ricer trend. NFS 1 to 4 (High Stakes) was PEAK level NFS.... and we all know why; beautiful exotic production cars racing through amazing scenery. This song sent me to another world back then and still does now.
Authentic comment. Emotional upgraded!!!
What an iconic track, will never forget my childhood NFS experience because of this. Such a captivating piece!

Same feeling from Italy, bro. And now here i am with a little child who was born two months ago, and with the still love for videogames
