I have a 23 vc turbo, after almost 2 years no problems, drives nice. Nissan is removing the turbo option for 25 In my area the 24 turbos (with incentives) are priced almost the same as the non turbo SR SL. It seems like a no brainer but they can’t seem to sell the turbo models over the regular models even with steep discounts.
Love Infiniti and I've had several including a G37 convertible which was a blast to drive. Some of the features of this Altima are reminiscent of Infiniti design which is why I bought it for my drive to work car. Didn't care for the Honda - did not feel as roomy and the interior of the Kia 5 seemed a little cheap - especially the upholstery. Love the seat in the Altima - fits my long legs and slender body type. I agree with your perspective on the steering and wish that were better but I'm not bothered by the numerous buttons and options on the touch screen. I can get directions using the speech button and navigate the XM channels and volume on the steering wheel which is all I mostly use. Calls are easy to make. I'm not going to be turning the heated steering wheel on and off very often. The transmission shifts smoothly and is decent for what it is. Like you said, if I wanted to spend more for better I'd have gone with Infiniti.
Good review. I like the SR 2.0 VC-Turbo. I had not even thought aboit a base Q50 with 300 hp for just a few grand more. Now I will check it out. Justa note - yoir mentiom of 236/263 hp/tq is based on regulat gradw gasoline. However, if you use premium they jump to 248/270.
Depends on what you're looking for you can use regular with this engine or premium and also the altima has more room in it and when you get the base q50 you will always feel like you're missing the bose performance audio or the nice sport wheels since you get the base generic wheels and the gas mileage is the vc turbo is very good. I'm getting 35-38mpg avg right now. The q50 will be about 8mpg lower. Atleast and cost more to insure and if any snow you're left with rwd which is good and bad. The q50 was 2 narrow for my liking in the driver seat the way the intrusion from where your foot us or the tight back seat or the super large hump. V6 was nice and a little less baggy than the 4 though but the altima is close to as fast just a hair slower. My brother just got a q50n so maybe I can get a pull with him 1 day :)
my 2021 Altima SL has auto up and down both driver and passenger, also has a map pocket behind driver seat, and fog lights! seems like Nissan really cut corners in order to afford putting that huge screen and making the turn signal indicators LED
You didn’t talk about the shifting controls on the steering wheel. You first have to shift to the lowest level and move the shifter to the right. I would have liked to see that.
@ Indeed, i don't think we do have it here in philippines, Altima is considered ast big time or i say a luxury here in philippines already. But we do have the Nissan Almera, Versa in your country which is the chipest but good features

It's all relative. The way things are heading, in a few years new cars like this will be selling for $50k. I'm hearing stories about people having $1200/month with $8000 down on BMW's and Mercedes.
As a current owner of the 2010 Altima sedan, I always thought of it as a mini SUV. Similar specs to the Toyota Crown. Nissan should never have shrunk the Altima. They would of sold more.
I like how you show and respect expensive cars as well as regular cars like this

Do u have to activate the paddle shifters or they always work? Meaning is that a setting?
No you can use them while driving but the S button on the gear lever you have to push to active
If you shift down it will but go back to it's gear and rpm without hitting the button on the back of the shifter to actually go to manual
