my altima has never had a problem with the cvt gearbox, obviously you still need to change the oil but 7 years no problems so far, very strong and tough
I can guarantee the people talking the mess in the comments have never driven one 🤷🏻♂️ it’s fun and sporty Cvt or not. Cvt doesn’t hold the engine back so it’s immediate acceleration! 💨
People hate on the cvt but it's way better than a traditional automatic. There's a reason why it was banned in formula 1 racing lol. If you drive it in sport mode, it's a lot better. My 2011 Altima accelerates pretty damn fast for 2.5 cvt in manual mode
@@SignifiedSixNah those Altima CVT's suck big time compared to standard automatic transmissions! My transmission blew on my 2015 Altima last February 2023 with only 135K miles and cost me $5K to replace. All of my previous cars with standard transmissions lasted way longer.Fuck Nissan and their shitty CVT transmissions!!
I'm buying one today. If I wanted a better appointed, more expensive car, I'd get an Infiniti. This car does what it's supposed to for the price and I find it attractive, very comfortable and fun to drive. Don't want AWD either - one tire goes, you must replace all four. I didn't like the Honda - it felt a little cramped - I have long legs, and I don't like the interior and seats of the Kia.
Had a 2016 Maxima, dark grey. I loved that car until last month when i had a car accident on 95 first car accident of my life 😢. Glad I walked away unscathed, I now have a 2021 Sentra. It soo small and doesnt compare. It saves gas though. I want this 2024!!!!!!!! ❤😂
Hey Nolan, hope all is going great! I remember being excited to hear what was new with the Altima. I can’t help but feel they really took a back seat to the competition and the reason they are probably selling is people who don’t want to wait for another popular midsized sedan. Everyday in our parking lot I see a 2005 Ultima 3.5 with over 350K on it. Dependable as can be was handed down 3 generations not the grandson drives it for over a year now. It was a drivers car. People were proud to say they owned a Altima. Camry and Accord were old peoples cars. Keep up the great Work Nolan. Hope you had a Great Thanksgiving!
I get it, Nissan does not want their Altima siphoning off sales from their Infinite brand. So, a fully optioned out one is going to be missing some features it should have. Ironically, it's why the Sentra SR lacks a Turbo option. Don't want to take away sales from the Altima. But Nissan is going about it in a really sloppy way. Paying just under $40K for a fully kitted out Altima SR but missing features you'd get on other brands at that price-point? Not a good idea. Seriously, the SR trim of the Sentra deserves a Turbo-charged engine option.
Just so u know this is the "Top of the line" Altima. That's why price point is $36k. My BF is a GM at a Nissan Dealer. He has been with Nissan for 20 yrs. Just figured I would help 😊 putting 93 in every time, ur at the pump putting in Ds mode & TCS off. Car is a little quicker. I have a 24. I keep up with WRX's with AC off, obviously. Haha it is also quicker than the Maxima and replaced it for 24. According to Nissan
i will say the sensors are 100% perfect stops me immediately when coming close to crashing or warns me if my speed and distance fsctors a crash but only issue is my front sensor keeps turning off and need to go to thr dealership
Right now I have a Nissan rogue but when the lease is up, I think I’m buying an Altima. I feel like it’s a better car than an accord or Camry. Just wondering anyone’s thoughts on that. From my job I need something all-wheel-drive and with good gas mileage because I drive a lot. Disclaimer-I don’t care about the CVT I’m fine with it
Nissans Made a HUGE mistake by competing with the Camry and accord and not adding the AWD with the turbo. Which the others don’t have. Would have been a hot seller in the northern climates!
its a shame this isnt offered with a 6mt. a capable motor mated to a cvt tranny is sad... but this is probably the best pick in the category when compared to the competitors such as accord and camery. maybe nissan will come to its sense and offer an SE-R version with AWD and 6mt? yeah right....sure they will.... when pigs fly...
Most drivers looking for something sporty that they would be willing to pay extra for are not going to want a Nissan CVT. It's hard to know who this car is actually for.
The Turbo Altima is $8k more with no difference in the feel. Turbo is meh, only 248hp not as quick as other cars. Kind of disappointing. Not any peppier than my current 2022 Altima SR Midnight edition. Not worth the price difference even with the 360 crap and a Bose speaker system.
I own Nissan rogue..Nissan has good look comfortable seats but cvt whichever’s transmission they had is trash 🚮 you shouldn’t be buying this car go for other brands
This car is so trash in reliability. There is a 2019 accord 1.5 and Camry 2.5 that went over 300k miles in some videos. This car will never go anywhere near the Camry and Accord with that defective CVT of theirs

Since they’re discontinuing the Maxima they should give this a 9 speed and AWD for those who want a little more of a sportier drive
Altima is discontinued
The Altima does offer an AWD as well!

Terrific review bro & I can't wait to buy this car as my very 1st car one day to go many places

Should make a 6 speed manual. Sales would soar.

Nissan's CVT wears out so fast it negates any price or fuel economy advantages. I'd rent one, though.
It's funny because the CVTs are incredibly reliable if you actually change the fluid at the prescribed intervals.
In 2020 I received a Nissan Rogue as a rental car. You guessed it CVT issues while I was a couple hours away from the airport.
