Yep this is one of my go to amps in Fractal. I run the EF86 Treble channel with gain at 2.9 stacking drives in front with Low Output Humbuckers. Fantastic!
Hey Cooper, I always skipped this amp because I didn’t like the AC30. I just spent an hour playing this and I love it! I switched the klon with the “tone of kings” and it sounds awesome. Love your g66 videos. Thanks and keep up the good work
Couldn't agree more, I put it right up there with the Carol Ann. I look forward to dial in your take on it. As a newbie., I really appreciate all you share and teach me. Thank you!
What you show here is why I love the FM3 and FAS. Its ability to go from great cleans to mean with the volume knob is unparalleled. As you pointed to, one of the main reasons is having great Vox or the boutique Vox inspired amps like the Morgan AC20, Trainwrecks, Comet, etc. models. These were amps that I didn’t have access to the real thing or just never gave a chance. I went from various nice Fender amps (Twins, Bandmaster) to Mesa Boogie when I had some money and was wanting more gain. In fact there was a point when I had the EJ setup with Fender cleans and (in my case) Mesa dirt. Not so bad when I was 30. Way too much stuff at 59. Thanks for showing this and great playing. Was always a Mathew Sweet fan.
@@ReductioAdAbsurdum No they’re not. Not the way someone who is experienced is referring to. I should have said “and every nuance In between”. It’s what I hated about modelers for 20+ years…along with the latency. @@AudioAtmos *No they’re not.* Yes they are. *Profilers definitely can’t do it* They definitely can and do. I have every modeler you've ever heard of in my studio (Kemper, Axe-FX, Helix, Quad Cortex, Tonex, Headrush) and several you probably haven't (AmpliFire, NAM Profile Player, Ampero II), not to mention every meaningful software modeler/profiler ever made. I've been on a year long quest to replace my Kemper for reasons I won't go into. I'm a professional engineer and have done _deep dives_ into all of these modelers and all the attendant accoutrement. Good day Cooper, Great job on the video!! Ive been using the MFC-101 as an external midi switcher with the Fractal FM3. Do you if there is a way to assign the 8 scenes to 8 different buttons on the external midi footswitch controller? This would give me a lot of functionality with the fm3 Thankyou for your time
Sounds very good! The chorus / delay on it sounds too cool ! The only problem I have with the FM3 is the volume pedal. I wish they have a dedicated slot for volume pedal on each rig. Do you use a global setting for volume pedal? If so what setting?
I'd love to hear some nice R&B, Soul, and 80s Pop tones. G66 hasn't represented enough clean tones, IMO. BTW, I love your channel. I have an Fm9 and am just now starting to program my own sounds.
Sounds great - the Morgan is my FM9 bread and butter amp with PAF humbuckers. For single coils I actually prefer the Friedman Dirty Shirley... is has a little more "hair" and saturation to fatten it up. I'm using Austin Buddy's stock amp and cab settings on both from his naked amp pack.
Hey Cooper, if Mute FX in is the setting on the delay and reverb, why is it that I can't get any tails when changing scenes. I have another preset with those settings and coming back from the solo, there are delay tails. Odd.
How does this compare to the Neural DSP Morgan amp suite that also has an AC20? For the budget minded folks that don't have a Fractal device, that seems like a good alternative if it's as good or close enough. I'd love an FM3, but they get expensive to import where I live.
I tried downloading this from your site into my FM9. I thought every FM3 preset could be saved/imported into an FM9 MkII Turbo. I tried this twice but after I navigate to the Preset I want it loaded to (481), hit Preset > Import Preset > select the d/l'ed file > Open, I just get put back into an empty preset 481. Dang, now I have to build it from scratch. Did anyone else have success?
To me that opening live gig was everybody fighting over the same frequency range. lead was dry and harsh, acoustics had no bottom, particularly given there was no bass
Every *REAL* guitar player knows the original line 6 pod is still years ahead of its time and is the only thing a real musician brings to a studio or plugs into. Even B.b king sleeps with a pod under his pillow. Some say if it slightly moves he begins to loose sleep.

Synchronicity! brilliant thank you! always fun when you post these videos!!
this is insane! you've covered so many with only a knob and one amp..... thanks for sharing
This is all I've been using for years! The best!
That Girlfriend album was all killer, no filler. Great job there Cooper!
A perfect album. Thank you!

Perfect timing! I was looking for this amp and tone!

It's paralleled by literally every other modeler.

Great stuff Cooper. Absolutely love your masterclasses.
As always, very informative and enjoyable.🙏
Very cool. I've had my FM9 for over a year and have never touched this one, but I sure will now.
wow! this was very ear opening..thanks Cooper!
I never paid attention to this amp. Now I want one. No, I need one, for the studio! And for simple gigs.
it's a magical little amp! extra points for "Photograph" as well! :)
Great stuff man, thx a bunch!
The link is to rotary-based preset. Try griddle cake as drive in front of vox.
Link fixed
Thanks Cooper. Love the preset. I swapped out the Klon for a griddle cake and a virtual capo for a little frosting.
I've been using the 12AX7 version of this for a very long time. It can do just about anything.
I think the 2203 hi is similar on dynamics w/guitar volume.
Great Stuff. Thank you!! Much appreciated!!
Does anyone have a tab for the way he played the verse riff of Synchronicity? 24:56
Sounds awesome!
Cannot wait to download that preset
Fractal audio suite? hmmm.....is that the new product that is coming? Great vid Cooper. Congrats on the gig. Thanks for sharing.
🤔
Hey Cooper, wrong link to preset? (love this video by the way. I also love the dynamics of the Deluxe Tweed) Cheers and thanks Peter

i use this on my FAS XL II awesome amp, thank you¡¡¡¡
Great video
My AC20 is the Dirty Shirley

Thanks Cooper. Does your guitar have a treble bleed?
Cool Video. The preset links to a video you did on creating a leslie effect ala black hole sun etc though. Which is also cool.

My son just got the fractal. What do you play through at home? We have an ffr a5 home

Awesome - I love this amp in your Live Preset from your Masterclass @coopercarter - for those that don't have it the preset link is missing though.
In his live preset he uses bandcommander and ods, fm9 anyway

What's your tremolo bridge setup?
Standard factory settings on the Music Man Cutlass HSS.
thanks sound really nice
Is this preset available anywhere?
Link in the video description

Opening jam sounds like an Axe FX.
FM3 direct to front of house.
To me that opening live gig was everybody fighting over the same frequency range.
lead was dry and harsh, acoustics had no bottom, particularly given there was no bass
Who's playing through that sweet Carr Rambler in the opening?
No one in this video. It was staged for the next act.
Epic
Nice tones. Not glassy though. Clanky in the upper mids. Still good sounds though.
John Mayer?
I’ll just add that DC30 is a much better sim than this one, no comparison.
Strat was WAY to loud
Versatile or not (the only one you need is certainly not), it sounds not like a Rectifire - so why should I play with it? 😎

This wins the Bizarre Award 👍🏼
The link above goes to Leslie Leads - CCFF. Was that the idea? None of the channels have a Morgan

@@coopercarter Does this work on the FM9 too? It comes up as "Empty" when trying to load the preset.
