Installed in my car today and I am really impressed how this small device improved the overall quality of sound output in my car.

Definitely keep us updated. I think I'm going to try it myself. It could be an instant gratifying upgrade with minimum wires. I'd love to use it to power some good components

I just bought this amp today for my S8 Ultra Gen 2. I'm curious to hear how this helps, or not. I didn't want to go overboard on a 2003 Avalanche as my farm truck.
I hope to be as happy as you are with your amp.

      How’d it go?

@@motofoxx13 Still mapping things out. I took out my dash to replace some parts that are in behind (door actuators), and this is how I thought, "Self, while you're here, let's replace the radio!" Like all good ideas, it's gone from simple to complex as I am now mapping out wiring for the new speakers, enclosures, etc. Sooner or later common sense will grab hold, but for now, I have a bunch of old RCA's and wires from my installer days...and the nerd is coming back to the surface. It's a bit more complex than my 88 GTA, but the custom set up I built for a Fiero is still more involved given how small the space was.

@@Edmonchuck “While I’m in there” haha. Sounds like you’re doing work though! I should have another video coming soon doing about the same thing. I’m going to upgrade some speakers, and make plans for an amp subs and the wiring for it.

Good review. So if you're adding an external amp (for a sub), do you plug the RCA cables into the new Atoto amp, or leave them plugged into the head unit?

Thx, and good question. So there’s a few ways to do it. The F7 has a dedicated sub out port that you’ll probably want to use, but that is going to be in mono. Then you can also use the preamp outs on the CA-AEC01 and it would be in stereo and should have more power (better signal) for a cleaner sound, and then adjust the levels from there, but would still probably be better for mids and highs. That’s my understanding of it at least. Hope it helps.

You didn't have to run power from the battery?

Question, I was looking to upgrade from a s7 to an s8 with an amp. I noticed there are two different ones. What’s the difference between the two besides one being newer and more expensive and the other which came out about 6 months earlier and nearly half the price

You know, that is a great question. Let me look into setting something up or finding an answer. I checked on the Amazon description and didn't see anything that stood out to me. I also see they are listing them as A/B class, that can't be right.

Does anyone know if you can bridge this amp? I just found out i only have front speakers and tweeters.

Hey, sorry for the late reply. I would think so. The amp gives specs for 4 ohm, and 2 ohm. Hope that helps, let me know how it goes.

Who paid you to do this video? Also, how much louder would you say this amp made your speakers louder? Would you say you have to keep volume at say 50, 60, 70% the previous volume to achieve the same result?

Great questions. Atoto, I work with Atoto on occasion for free stuff. I purchased their F7 radio, did a install video, they liked it, and contacted me. I like their products so I agreed to make videos for them of the stuff I like.
Then as for volume, I did no readings or anything like that. All from my tin ear. The radio was only I think 25x4 and the amp almost doubled that to 48x4. With the gains all the way down on the app it was much louder than full volume before. Also you have to keep in mind my factory setup, which routed all the power through the tweeter that it was using as the cross over. It gave me lots more bass at that frequency. Also, shortly after this video I upgraded my factory speakers as well, as this pushed them to the point that they could not handle what I was putting through them anymore. I also had to change the 10 amp fuse to a 15 to handle the additional power requirements.
I really hope that all helps.

@@motofoxx13 What fuse did you have to change out? A part of your car or head unit?

    • @motofoxx13
      @motofoxx13  ปีที่แล้ว

The radio fuse that is under the hood of the truck. The back of the Atoto amp has 2 15 amp fuses and was pulling more power than the Toyota factory 10 amp fuse could take and popped.

    • @motofoxx13

Also, a side note, make sure you have a sufficient ground. I had issues at full volume with the amp cutting out, or radio restarting, when I was trying to run too much through a small ground wire.

@@motofoxx13 I looked into it and it's not recommended to use a higher that oem rated fuse for your radio fuses. The reason your fuse is set to 10 amps is that if it exceeds that, it could lead to an electrical fire which is realistic bc you're running that kinda power on oem wiring not made to handle excessive amperage. It blowing out when it exceeds that limit is a sign that your fuse is doing its job and protecting your car's wiring which costs a ton to replace, and your safety as well.
