- Using scraps and smaller pieces of fabric and hand stitching is one of my favorite ways of making collages. Of course you can choose to do any size of substrate, any amount of pieces of fabric and all the kind of stitches that you want There are so many possibilities, its just start playing and se what you like and don't like. This pieces, is 20 x 20 cm.
I used heavy felt as my substrate.

I love seeing the little doggie on the white and blue grey fabric on the left. It’s so much fun when images appear in the fabrics. Beautiful piece Lisbeth. I learn a lot from you. 🙏🏻
Thanks an so nice to hear
Love hearing your calm voice. The blues with a touch of gold is lovely, and I think the other two are wonderful too.💙

TFS Lizbeth…I have scraps from my mother’s stash of remnants. She’s passed and I couldn’t get rid of them but didn’t know what to do with them. I’m not per se a sewer but you’ve inspired me to try this technique 😃
You’re welcome and give it a try
Very relaxing video and it turned out very well ❤ all the blues and it’s simple but beautiful 😊

Love this collage Lisbeth, beautiful fabric and stitching (-: Marion 🎉
Thank you Marion
I love this! I have so much beautiful fabric which was my favorite to work with from early years. Then in my 70’s I discovered art journaling and mixed media and have wanted to blend all of it in some way. I have so enjoyed seeing you work your beautiful creations, and you have convinced me that I can do this and combine all of it! How does it get better than that in one’s 80’s?! Thank you!
Thanks for your kind words. You’re never too old to do crafts and are. I think it keeps going because there is always something new to try and discover. (67 years)
@@lisbethdegn-dragenkunst I completely agree! It is my “go-to” for joy, both for myself and to gift to others. Wishing you many more happy years of creating!
Hello, I just found your channel. I think it's great what I see. Be sure to come and see your beautiful creations more often

The stem grounded the seed head beautifully. As ever, thank you for the inspiration.
Thanks and you’re welcome
This is looking lovely. I’d have been tempted to use golden thread to attach the disc of paper
Yes, that would also had been nice. But I don’t have very many threads
Thank you for this inspiring video

Stunning. I loved seeing the process of how to manage the stitches. Thank you!!
Thanks and you’re welcome
Yes raw silk, it has a nubby texture (another strange English word)
Thanks for enlightening me 👍
Your style is wonderful, than you for teaching and sharing!
Thank you and you’re welcome
Thank you Lisbeth. So lovely and so many helpful stitching ideas. I wonder for your US viewers what the equivalent would be for the felt substrate. I am thinking something like a stiff pellon, which is simetimes used in machine embroidery. Regular felt here is more soft and floppy.
You’re welcome, I don’t know what Pellon is, but you can use anything to stitch onto, heavy upholstery fabrics. Perhaps 2-3 layers of your felt, but it sounds strange you can’t buy 3-4 -5 mm felt in the USA, the land where I by several things I can’t buy here in Europe. I buy it in craft stores in bigger plates and cut it up. It’s just me liking this as my substrate.
Thank you for your reply Lisbeth. I’m sure you are right that I can get the stiffer felt in the US. I have just never looked for it. But then I found it on Amazon so it must also be in the fabric and craft stores. I will go on a hunt for it. Pellon is a brand used for interfacing in the US, it comes in different thicknesses and weights but is not a felt though it is non woven.
Beautiful, I love the seed head, thank you for sharing xx ❤
Thanks and you’re welcome
