Your craft/ family room / cinema room is absolutely fabulous. I showed my husband and our son just got married last October and we are making his room my craft room / second living room but we are going to make it into a cinema/ movie theater. My husband and I love the same things you and your husband like. My husband and I love going to antique shopping and we take trips and we love watching movies together. I have SO many ideas that you shared in your craft room that I will be doing in my new craft room. My mom is the same way of being organized, and I think it is due to the fact she was a teacher like you were. I am blessed that I am just like her and my dad, he is the joker. I need to find some more old children’s books. I told my husband I will be ordering more clear containers on Amazon. I was so excited about your video I had my husband watch it. He loved it. I know I am writing to much but thank you so much for the great ideas and sharing your amazing craft room. Happy crafting, hugs and blessings
Oh my gosh…I am so thrilled to hear you enjoyed it and found some ideas to use. That was my hope. Believe me, my room gets just as messy as the next crafter but I do try to keep it under control most of the time because when it’s a mess any creative urges I may have are crushed. Good luck with renovating your son’s room. Enjoy it with your hubby! ❤️
🙋🏼♀️wow what a great space, so clever to make yr space there, we are only starting to build little theatre rooms here in Australia, And a butlers pantry, not me though Your so neat gosh I need to do some work in mine to tidy it better Thank you for sharing CHeers 🐨🦘🌟
Love the organisation and you manage to fit so much in there too! My craft space is a cupboard and definitely too small 😅 I have a small desk but it doesn't have much storage. I found the suggestion/ideas slips of paper brilliant, and I am definitely going to implement it so I dont get stuck in the habit of always using the same supplies or techniques! It's so sweet that your granddaughter has her own box etc and that the two of you work on your journals together. ❤
We all have our limitations but if we try we can work around them. I have no wall space to hang things on but it is what it is. We can’t all have those gorgeous, huge craft rooms that we drool over on Pinterest and Instagram, right? But we can still create in whatever space we have.
I love your craft room. You are so organized and I loved that you showed what is in the drawers. You have proven you can make a small area very very orderly. Gave me some storage ideas to try! Thank you for the video…..cyndi m.
This is a very inspiring video, and made me realize just how unorganized my things are. I really need to figure out what I can do. Your space is wonderful!
Ha! Isn’t it funny how that works? There’s a danger in watching workspace videos. But you can also come away thinking, “thank God, I don’t have to work in THAT space!” Each to her own comfort level!
Wow! You DO pack a lot into your space and it's wonderfully organized! I got several ideas that I hope to put into practice, including using the old magnetic type photo albums to store words and phrases. Genius! And I think I'm going to buy one of those power strips that attach to the edge of a desk that you showed us. There were several other things I noted that I want to put into practice but there were so many that I can't recall them all now. Oh yes! I'm definitely going to use the little strips with words, and I like that yours are in an upright container so you can just reach in to pull them out easily. I confess I have container envy. But your organization of everything is phenomenal! Thank so much for sharing this!
Thanks, Trudy. As we’ve discovered, we have many things in common and having an organized space is definitely one of them. I loved seeing how you made such good use of your space. Thanks for encouraging me to show mine. It only took about 4 tries to get it right! 🤣🤪
I really need to take my old wood block stamps off and remount them. I just know how long it’s going to take. Just moved again and still organizing my space and then it really need to catalog what I have and make my space more efficient so I use what I have.
It did take a long time to do but I remember enjoying the process. If nothing else I recommend finding some kind of cataloging process that enables you to locate what you need quickly. The binder has really worked out for me. Good luck.❤️
Very compact & organized space. Wonderful that you can be crafting and watching movies with your hubby at the same time. 😎 The black Iris carts are just so awesome for craft storage. The 10-drawer ones are my favorite. Been using them for over 20 years. You might consider going to larger plastic boxes with lids for your UM stamps storage (you could lay them down sideways - horizontal - and still be able to flip through them). The rubber will be happier and last longer out of the air & dust. 🌻☺️
This is a perfect craftroom tour ! I can not craft unless I have organization. My craftroom is 9 x 13. It is beach themed. With that being said, some of my shelves have nautical decor, like sea turtles, mermaids, etc. I love it. Although, I have limited space for storage. But everything fits, and everything has a spot. I have cubicals, carts, an organizer on the back of my door, and under the desk containers. It all works for me. Thanks so much for taking the time to share your crafty space! Now, I've gotten a few more ideas ! I appreciate you! 😊 ❤ Suzy
Thanks so much for your kind comments. I know some would see my organization style and say, “too anal” but I see some who function well in a complete mess and shudder. I could never work there. Each to his own I guess.
That piece you found at the estate sale with all the very narrow drawers is the mainstay of my craft space I have I think I have five of those. Plus I have bank of three taller ones. I love it because of the adjustable drawer sizes so I am forever re-organizing spaces and I can do anything from a 1 inch drawer which are the small ones to a 2 inch drawer to a 3 inch drawer and have them in any configuration I want depending on what my craft focuses at the time. I love them! You’ve got a remarkable job with a very small amount of space you could be a professional organizer without a doubt!
Such a great use of space. I loved your cinema themed room as well!! Great inspiration as my space is a small attic type room, too. But it needs alot of work organizing. Always a work in process!! But a goal I really want to accomplish!! ❤. Thanks for sharing. The IKEA sorters seem very useful for JJ pieces!!
Oh thank you. I was the same way in my classroom with the supplies and plans. Things get out of control quickly with the little ones if you have to keep stopping to search for things., right? ❤️
@@SueF51 OMG! Yes! People come into my room and say it doesn't look like young children live there. I say we function perfectly in our neat, orderly space. 💯
Love your binder for stamp organizing! I made a swatch binder recently for my ink and punches and have been wondering if I should do it for stamps as well. I think you have me convinced
You are very resourceful! I don’t have a lot of the plastic drawer units, but I have pretty paper in the front of mine, too. It gives them a more cohesive look & less junky. I noticed a lot of matching black boxes. Did you paint them? I also made an ink pad holder from foam board. It turned out really nice. I just wish the ink pads were as economical! 😂Thanks for sharing! 😊❤
Thanks for watching and commenting. The black photo boxes came that way. I got them at Michaels a few at a time when they went on sale 3 for $5 I think.❤️
This is amazing!!!! Do you volunteer to set up someone else’s!!!! 😅😅😅. I have a lot of those things but they sure aren’t organized. That’s so wonderful!!!
Hahaha! Sometimes when I see videos of peoples’ craft rooms I wish I could get my hands on them and straighten them up. But then they’d never be able to find their things. Somehow they say they know where everything is despite the apparent mess.
New subby here, drawn in by your nice organized crafting space, tfs. I have a small room that is also my office space, but it is REALLY out of control right now! Storage is always a issue, and I’d like to utilize my Alex drawers better. I’m wondering if you have a video showing your Rolodex art? Also, what is the divided container in your right Alex drawer unit from IKEA? Is it from IKEA too? I love to bulk make ephemera pieces such as circles, butterflies, birds, and various flowers, plus lots of hearts. I like to make things to stick in with letters to my grandchildren also. I have a bunch of small magazine and pictures cut from wrapping paper stored in plastic baggies in small wooden drawer units I bought from IKEA years ago; they sit on the back edge of my desk. I nodded in agreement when you were talking about about your words and images cut from magazines, and how trying to find things in the bins is so tedious…I have that problem too! I may have to see if our thrift stores have the old magnetic albums. I want to get started in creative journaling, but it takes so long to find things that I remember cutting out. Anyway, thanks for inspiring me to get better organized so I can enjoy crafting again.
Welcome, Linda. Thx for subscribing. I do not have a video on the Rolodex but I could put that on my list of videos to make. I believe you are talking about the clear divider in the 4th drawer…it may have come from IKEA but possibly the Dollar Tree. I’m sorry but I can’t swear to either. I have no problem finding the magnetic albums at Goodwill. I have a few of them and find them very helpful for the small bits that can get lost in bigger bins. Everyone is different but I find I must have my things fairly organized in order to save time and enjoy my crafting time. Thanks so much for watching and commenting. ❤️
I love your space. I'm currently moving a space similar into my bedroom It will be 15x3. I also bought that shelving unit that you got at Michaels. Did yours have a distinct odor to it? Mine did and I can't seem to get rid of it it's a chemical smell that I cannot get to dissipate.
Sure. As I said in the video I began with art journaling in my Bible. It was God’s way (I believe) of “hooking” me in to his Word. I did that for a few years in wide margin journaling bibles But once I was hooked on the Word I wanted to delve deeper. I followed a Bible in a Year plan from Illustrated Faith and just read in my next Bible writing notes in the skinny margin along with some pretty stickers. I found that so interesting I followed a chronological plan over 2 years digging in a little deeper. Then Fr. Mike Schmitz did his Bible in a Year Podcast and once again I filled another Bible with copious notes and thoughts as I went. I have since been in a Bible Study group at my church and working in yet another Bible. So to answer your question…(finally) I hope as I continue to ultimately have one Bible to pass on as a keepsake to each of my children, their spouses and their children …9 Bibles in total. I have enough now if something were to happen if I count some small pocket size Bibles in which I have highlighted and used decorative stickers (see @Cat Woods videos). I have another bible in which I highlight a passage and respond directly to God what it means to me, prayers etc. I have a post-it in each one for now designating the receiver but that may change for some as I continue on. I hope that helps.
Small is relative. It’s only 60 sq feet of floor space which for those who work out of a closet is large. But if you have a 10x12 spare bedroom that you’ve turned into a craft room it is double my space. Many craft rooms you see on TH-cam with built ins and islands are huge. So it’s all relative I guess. Just saying …you can pack a lot into a small space if you plan carefully.

Hi. What are those blue cards that you use to sort your stamps and where can I get some? Can you share the link, please?
They were just some of those 2 pocket poly school folders that I think I found at Target several years ago. I just cut them to the size I wanted.
