Best debut in my opinion. Rider just randomly shows up, doesn't say a word, beat up the monster in quick fashion and rider kick in a badass way

I still think Agito has the best rider kick. That build up, the pre-kick pose, the jump, midair shot, and that baddass post he does when he turns to the camera just as the monster explodes. Modern Riders don't pose when when they defeat the monster anymore, it just blows up and the fight's over. But Agito is a perfect classic kick.
That's because it's becoming *slightly awkward* according to modern tropes as for that. The rest are pretty much awesome, whenever I see his Agito emblem appears, it's just so exciting.
But he don't have shooting weapon 🤔

@@Chee.Y4ngKuuga's kick is indeed better. The buildup of his steps echoing is cooler than Agito's sygil forming and him doing the kick. There's also the difference between the aftermaths, Agito's kick wraps up with him turning away from his defeated foe before exploding, Kuuga's lands a mark on the enemy that spreads through them until they explode. Different strokes for different folks, but I personally lean more towards Kuuga's kick.

I first saw Agito as a kid and this episode scared me. The fight scenes at night in Agito was something man. I wish they had more fight scenes in the darker time it makes it feel more different.
It's a completely different experience when the Kamen Rider lights up at night. My favorite is Faiz, especially during the opening theme.
Not gonna happen. The demographic has changed. From Kuuga to Faiz, it was for teens and adults, hence why they're bit darker and mature in theme. But after that, it become less and less mature, and more like a kid show.

Fuuga Naoto is a professional singer that he provided as voice sampler for Vocaloid KAITO. Despite his advance age now, he still active in singing. Sometimes he sang many of his KAITO & Agito songs at many places even foreign countries.
As much as I love other riders, Agito still has the best storywriting out of all of them and also love how this series has techbased armor (G3), monster biological type (Gills) and mystical type (Agito) all at the same time

@@arx117 Black has an emotionally driven narrative. That's what it primarily relies on, but it's shallow intellectually.
Agito is better if we're talking about setting up logical cohesion and complexity to the plot.
You get something like heroism revealing itself as a biological impulse to protect its own species.
Because you know why Agito is fighting.
Why is Agito fighting?
Because everytime he has his visions, it's because it's *his* people that are being killed. To me, it's a reference to the things I learned in biology.
Therefore every battle holds its purpose, is given its place, rather than just being a random dude throwing selflessness around randomly. I appreciate knowing the origins of the protagonists and antagonists.

I find it fascinating that Heisei Kamen Rider started out as a supernatural version of Criminal Minds. Very different from later installments of the franchise.
Pretty much the Early Heisei (Kuuga - Blade) were experimental with their story approach, hence why they were different than later shows would be.
Like Kuuga to Ryuki are basically Thriller story and Faiz was Jdrama meet Toku

@@arx117hat's worse is that Den-O basically set a new standard of "2 episodes per arc" format, causing it to actually having short story than what the total amount of episodes reflected. To me it made it hard to follow the story proper when they keep dragging it out with some gags. It's until Gen Urobuchi put a new example of how to write proper story with better use of the episodes using Gaim.
It still doesn't make the current format perfect though with the writing skills Toei had rn, with Zero-One and Revice are the best examples of not knowing what to do when the intended storyline does not meet the ideal length of the arc (Zero-One got hurt due to COVID delay so they had to rush the ending because the Thouser arc dragged on for way too long, while Revice's story should technically end in two separate occasions but they keep filling it with useless guff to make sure the 50 episodes quota filled). Not to mention Toei becoming more aggressive with their toys promotion and the usage of CGI (Saber used both to a sickening level).
G3 really is some kind of MechaKuuga. He even has a similar motorcycle with a detachable handle that doubles as the key
well that's because G3 was created based on Kuuga, the GuardChaser is actually the second successor to the TryChaser 2000. In the lore, the G-Series was initially created to battle the Gurongi but Kuuga defeated them before the system was completed, so in the two years between Kuuga and Agito (because while Agito came out the year after Kuuga, chronologically, 2 years have passed since the events of Kuuga) they were able to finish the system. the problem is it was created to counter the Gurongi and the Lords are litterally another level.

@@EvilDoresh yeah, but the Bullets were made kill beings that were basically humans turned into demons, the Lords on the other end are basically Angels, so it's not suprising, at least they eventually developped G3-X which was more than a match for the Lords
@@DarkAnon100 If I remember correctly the bullets used timed explosives to exploit a weakness in the Gurongi's healing factor. The Lords being bulletproof in a _different_ way renders them useless.
They actually expand on this idea in the Kuuga Manga (which mix Kuuga and Agito) in it, the are able to deploy the System, with Ichijo becoming Kamen Rider G1 and evetually Kamen rider G3

I watched some Agito episodes as a kid. Back then, I was too young to understand the story. I hope they'll keep uploading the series because i really like this one. Very gritty J-drama feel. Early Heisei shows are great

Kamen Rider Agito is the best Hesei series, its not even a Rider drama, its a Thriller & Mystery drama with Rider elements. The plot and writing is even better than nowadays J dramas. What i love the most is the camera angles are straight up movie level work. Ppl always think Rider series are some budget work but Agito truly change your view and it sets up a new level of standards for the later Riders such as 555 etc.
Old Heisei era was such a brief moment in rider history😢, riders made in nowdays is quite laughable when you can clearly see how lil efforts and budgets Toei put into the filming.😅

Finished this series recently and I'd definitely recommend it! A lot of great moments in this series plus some cool effects and designs. Perfect to release this for the anniversary along with the new CSM belt.

Honestly, Toei should be doing so much more. Tsuburaya is even smaller and poorer than Toei but they've put more work into subbing entire series and bringing Ultra to the west than Toei has with KR.

Can we just take moment to appreciate that Agito was the first heisei series to have a 2nd, 3rd, 4th and last but not least an evil rider.
My most favorite Rider......not only the story is so good, the fighting style of Agito which isn't like other riders like street fight (headbutt, stomp, etc). The way he fights is so graceful :)

@@nickm5419 it has been like that since Den-o (Hibiki was intended as its own thing, hence why the show feels different). Kiva tried to combine the comedy and the seriousness of early heisei though. Everything after that are just colorful shows meant for kids. If I remembered correctly, the reason for the change of tone is because Japanese parents complained about the the shows being too violent or something.

From what i heard wizard was basically the turning point where neo heisei start to get serious a little bit.
Gaming theme aside, Ex-aid was filled with a lot of medicall drama
Gaim suprisingly was pretty dark for Neo Heisei era kamen Rider show, by adding a lot of drama and death in it
And Zero one, while the first half felt corny, the second half was actually pretty dark (especially since ark one get introduced). And i doubt a lot of kid who grow up with Zero one will get traumatised after saw metal cluster hopper tranformation and ark one debut
In conclution, Neo heisei era onward might not as dark and serious as its predecessor, but that doesn't mean it didn't affraid to get serious when it want to

To be fair W, OOO, Gaim and Build were amongst the more "kiddie" ones. So I'm not so sure that's all that bad a thing really.
It's always a "kid show", but darker and more serious, maybe because censorship is not that strict back in the day.
It's always been a kids show. Back in the day, thanks to its revival, it was having an identity crisis and thought it should aim itself more at teenagers avd young adults the point where shows like Agito and Faiz got so dark, grim and bleak that it was downright alienating to their actually intended audiences. The kids that the shows weed designed to sell toys to.

Really wished G3 did more than get beat up and occasionally helped Agito throughout the whole show. I loved the idea of a Kamen Rider being a police-made robo-suit you wear, and with guns.
I love the Showa Riders and early Heisei Riders. Back when they were actually RIDERS. Also dark storylines...

Those were days where KR series are made for adult audiences. Dark- themed. Nowadays, most tokusatsu series are kids-oriented.
Except, sadly, they are all really for kids show. It's just kids "standard" are changing over time. I read it somewhere sometime ago, the producer even declare that publicly.
It's still a kid show. Kamen Rider series producer, Mr. Shirakura who made this series himself admitted it. What has changed is the standard about Kid's show. But of course there is something that makes the standard change. First the audience, second the business. Kamen rider is totally change after they joined Super Sentai at Superhero Time in 2003 and after the success of Den-o who resurrected the series after a series of setbacks in tv ratings and merch sales after Agito ended

An interesting thing about Agito is that the rumor mill circulates that it was going to be a sequel to its immediate predecessor, Kamen Rider Kuuga. As we see in these early episodes, they make mention to the Unidentified Lifeforms (the police-given name of the antagonistic Gurongi faction), and even reference G3's designs being based specifically on Unidentified Lifeform #4 (the police designation for Kuuga himself). Agito even has many design similarities to Kuuga, possibly leaving the door open for a "the powers of Kuuga are an imperfect replication of the powers of Agito" plot. This would be pretty neat, as the first seven or so seasons of the Showa Era Riders were all in the same continuity - even bringing in occasional references to their sister show, Super Sentai.
The strange thing is that, after the first five episodes of Agito, there's no mention of anything from Kuuga ever again. My theory would be that it's somehow related to the rumor of Kuuga's actor absolutely hating his experience working on the series, leading to any plans of Agito being a sequel ending up scrapped early on. But if someone who's more educated on the topic can correct me on this, I'd love to hear from you!

Agito did great on provoking philosophical thoughts for its viewers. And I can't do that without spelling out some spoilers here so...
Spoilers alert.
An "Agito" is an "evolved human" and a result of receiving powers from the White God. Black God was the one who created humans but he wanted humans to just be humans. White God wants humans to realize their potentials. So, the two Gods fought for eons then finally White God lost. In his dying breath, he bestowed humans the ability to evolve with his powers, which gave birth to humans' conscience and self-awareness.
This parallels to the story of Forbidden Fruit in Eden. And White God parallels the role of the Snake (to some extent, the Devil).
Fearing humans will one day rebel against him, Black God sends his Angels (the "Unknown" monsters in the series) to hunt down humans who display signs of evolution. The people who these "Unknown" monsters kill are usually people who had developed paranormal powers, a sign of them developing into an Agito.
Other than that, the Black God is actually benevolent and loving towards humans. As long as you are the powerless, dependent creatures that he meant you to be.
So, here's the thing about Agito. If White God is this show's version of the Devil, then are Agitos actually Demons? Are their acquired powers, although not acquired on their own will, a threat to humanity?
I think the show runners gave us a little hint though on the answer to that. Whenever Agito uses his final move, he pushes an arm forward and draws a leg backward before jumping. The pose resembles the 人 kanji , which means "human". The theme that plays during the finisher is "Believe Yourself".
Agito is not a demon. He is Human. And every human can be an Agito. If you Believe in Yourself and press forward towards your life goal. With that, you can do wonders. And one day, humanity will eventually realize their potentials to be Gods themselves.
Of course, this is my interpretation of what an Agito is from the breadcrumbs the show runners left here and there in the show. So take it with a grain of salt.
