    It's amazing how even though I'm aware of what the Digitakt offers, I can't actually fathom all the possibilities until I see someone else playing with it, and then it's like a door unlocking in my mind.

      Yeah. I finally got one over this last summer. Along with getting the 1.5 update out of the box, the biggest benefit has been coming to TH-cam and basically finding courses on how to utilize The Digitakt.

    Oh my goodness! This is just what I was looking for😮. I am the lucky owner of an ARP 2600 and I love the subtractive approach you are using on this digital machine! I has being comparing the sound of the three oscillators in my analog machine, and I most say is impressive, absolutely impressive what you are achieving in this little digital Pandora box!
    Just got my DT a week ago and I’m blown away😂. It’s just so incredible to live in this moment of musical technological experimentation. I am embracing all the new technologies as much as the old. The DT gave me the opportunity of explore a new approach to Music making and I can just feel gratitude for people like you, bringing this information available. Thanks man❤

      Thank you! The digitakt is such a creative instrument with so much to discover. I've done quite a few videos about it (and its sibling the Digitone). If you want to see a very different side of it, the technique I demonstrate in this video might give you some ideas:

    I am getting a digitakt in the next few weeks and was wondering about this very topic. Using the waveforms together. And watching how you did it makes me wonder about other forms of modulation. Using specific types of WAV files. For example using a waveform sample that would create an FM modulation to your signal on one of the other channels. Thanks so much for this video. Using it in this way demonstrates how creative this device can be (ie as much as your willing to allow yourself to be with it).

    Awesome! Enough reason for Elektron te make a Monster mono synth based on what you showed here! Nothing analog, justi digital and an elektron sequencer Multiple osc's with waveform to choose from, multimode filters + a global filter, combined with excellent onboard fx, if the price is right it would be an insta buy.
    Anyways, you nailed this one!

    I like the idea tho I’ve got 2 , 8 Oscillator Wavetable MonoSynth’s I can use that cost me under $200 for the pair of Modal CraftSynth 2’s i grabbed used. They feel like cheap plastic but actually sound good. Plugged into the L/R inputs of the Digitakt and controlled by Tracks 9 and 10 sound delicious but certainly enjoying the video’s concept.

    • @OscillatorSink
      @OscillatorSink  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You could happily do 3 (ish) layered mono synths and still have a track or two left over for drums. You could even make some of them duophonic in the sequencer. Exciting times!

  • @kemasolar
    @kemasolar 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    from 18:30, when you make the crossfade thing with tracks 7 and 8, what about changing the wave form to SIN instead of TRI????? Another thing, if you make the sub one octave lower, I know it sounds really really cool, but the problem is when you go lower in the keyboard, if the digitakt goes lower than -24 then it plays the same note all the time, which could be bad, i think. those are my two cents to your amazing video. Digitakt is a very versatile toy and you showed me another face of it, thanks! :)

    • @OscillatorSink
      @OscillatorSink  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      One thing you can try on the sub, is finding a single cycle waveform that is already down an octave. The "FM Square" in the factory samples is one such example.
      I tried a sine crossfade LFO when I was experimenting with this, but for whatever reason, the triangle sounded more natural - I really thought that the sine would work better too initially!

    PTN + encoder tweaks the corresponding value across all the tracks. comes in handy when using that approach

    • @OscillatorSink
      @OscillatorSink  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think it's TRK + an encoder for control all - I do it towards the end of the video when setting up the reverb and delay.

    • @ivrnk
      @ivrnk 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      then I wasn't attentive enough when watching. don't have a DT right now so wan't sure about key combo. I'd jump to tweak TRK + filter tweaking right away after setting up the sample slots :)
