I’ve been using MSP for about 8 years now and I got to say I’ve been wanting to learn P6 because of wanting to get another program under my belt. But man P6 has so much thing to click on before you even start something. I can easily make a king schedule with MSP in about 5 minutes. But gotta learn it seems like more jobs are wanting this program. Thanks for the info
Simply one of the best tutorials. 100/10 would recommend to watch this videos. I hope you would keep the videos in the same way I.e no background music etc
Thanks a million mate I'm just starting on Primavera P6 , been scheduling for 25 years ....on numerous apps ...and want to expand my knowledge going forward...
Donny this tutorial was amazingly good. Thanks very much for making this. Your voice is clear and the pace is just about right. You haven't put in the usual idiotic monotonous and distracting background music . What a relief!!! Please, you are too good to ruin it with any stupid background music. I hope you never add music in the future. In short, you make tremendously good tutorials and I am now a big fan of yours!
Thank you for the kind words. I have a few other P6 videos out and hope to make some more. I too am not a fan of background music. After a while it drives you nuts. LOL. Thanks again!
Fantastic tutorial! Great step by step information with clear explanations/instructions providing purpose and a live walk through of the steps. Where can I find your additional P6 tutorials?
@@Donny_Holmes hey Donny great video definitely helped me a ton do you offer any sort of zoom training if so I’m very interested in connecting with you to take my knowledge to the next level
Yes, it could be used for that. I have mainly used it for construction projects to schedule and keep a job on target. I could easily see this used for maintenance planning as well. If you are doing small or large projects it could be used to keep those on track as well. Primavera can be used for anything that you want to keep organized and on track.
That's a great question. I am an old-school Suretrak guy. Oracle bought them out and created P6 so that is how I received my training. Just years of using. I might try going to Oracle's website and searching for "Primavera P6" training classes? It would be hard to find an in-person class too. I took a Suretrak class back in 2010 in a face-2-face setting and I was the only student in there. Good luck on the hunt.
Awesome videos!! Have you made any videos about baselines? As well as the correct way to update a schedule when it is required to be updated on a monthly basis and submitted to the DOT? Thanks!
is there a free download of P6 available anywhere? I've trained in and used CMMS, MSProject, Maximo, P3, and P6, but it's been years since I've used P6 (last time was in 2015). Wondering if at the age of 63, I can refresh/renew my P6 skills and maybe go back to work in planning and scheduling again? Thanks for the help/tips. P.S. This tutorial is fantastic!
Regular Joe, thanks for watching and your kind words. I teach P6 at a college. I as well as my students, can obtain it free as it is under the "education umbrella". I am not sure how you would get a free copy. I would try Google and type "free P6 software"? Possibly might find something? I really haven't explored that so not sure. I hope to have more videos out soon.
@@denabeard6648 I teach a Construction Scheduling class that is 100% online. It only comes around every two years and will be offered next in spring of 2024. The first 5 weeks of the class is doing scheduling by hand and calculations then we introduce the software and how to use and schedule projects. So the class is not 100% P6 software usage. Hope that helps.
Thank you for this. Is it possible to import another program to p6? if yes how? How to generate a sequential report and determine the critical path in the project program?
Yes it is possible depending on the software you created the initial programme in. Example if you work in Asta power project you are able to export the reject file in various formats such as XML and MPP file formats. If you created the schedule in MSP then convert to an XML and import into p6 using the required import settings.
@@MrSivram28 It's the latest update from Oracle. It doesn't look much different from the original SureTrak software that was in use since the 1990's that Oracle bought several years ago. No need to get fancy with construction scheduling I guess. It's pretty cut and dry.

Hi, can I have a class on project scheduling?
Hi, can I use this tool to do life-span personal life management ?
Whwrr the best play to get training and certificstion online?
Hi Mr. Donny , when we select the user name as admin and add the password as admin as well the software does not open , so what to do instead ?
Did you create an account? If so you would have created a password as well. Use Admin for the user name and then your own password. Try that and see
THANK YOU
