Throwing Knives or Cutlass? |Sea of Thieves Comparison|

Hi Team,
This is my interpretation on which weapon is more effective in Sea of Thieves between the Cutlass and the new Throwing Knives. Both are available at the pirate emporium to all new players.
Yes there will be lots of variables that I haven't thought about.

That’s where I landed too. But if you like to do PvE then it’s not entirely practical right?

don't make things up, after removing the 2-1 combo, throwing knives are useless

Love the enthusiasm! I tried to be impartial and only look at the numbers. Realistically both weapons have a big attack that deal relatively similar damage and will still require two hits following, but the sword lunge has a cool down period whereas the knives don’t? Is there something else I should be considering?
