These will best help you gauge how high to aim the cannon if any ship is further out. And use the carriage rings to the side for lead/follow when in a spiral or aren't doing a parallel broadside.
Hi, ex sotter, i used to tdm all the time and I have a few notes for tdming. 1. Always know where your enemy is. You can watch them move through the wood, track them and shoot them when they peak. 2. Learn some "fort movement". The forts have a few cool jump spots that allow you to jump up higher or jump down from certain levels quickly. Learn these moves to surprise your enemy. 3. At longer ranges, remember that bullets have travel time. More so flintlock but even sniper can have it. If you want a sexy long ranged 2 tap, then make sure to aim higher to compensate for your flintlock bullet drop. 4. Might seem dumb but when you're in the moment you might forget about using your crosshair to aim and just aim using "feel" don't do that. If ur aim is decent then be consistant by using your crosshair 5. Be the first to hit both your shots, not the first to dump both bullets. You only have 2 shots before you have to reload, and reloading takes a long time. Don't just dump your bullets out if you are sacrificing acceracy for it. Take your time and aim your shots, don't miss. 6. If you don't know about this already then there is a few methods to shorten your reload time. The oldest way is X Canceling. As soon as you fire you double tap X (or whatever you have you're stow weapon binded to) to reload quicker. Another way and my prefered way is sprint canceling. As soon as you fire you tap sprint. It is usually faster than X canceling. This requires you to be walking forward though, so the best way is to interchange sprint canceling with X canceling depending on your situation. Try these methods on skeletons. 7. Record yourself to see how you suck so you can improve quicker. 8. Be in control of your movement. Don't bump into walls, or slip off rocks or do things to mess up your movement. It's ok to break eyesight with your enemy briefly to look where you're going and improve your movement. 9. For team fights, be aware of all the enemys. You might get tunnel vison on your target and not notice their team mate behind you. It's ok to break a fight for a moment to get the advantage later. I learn this from playing tf2, always spy check. 10. A little bit like number 9 but basically, learn "gamesense" understand the mechanics of the game and understand the common behaviors players make such as counting their bullets shot, which weapons they have loaded, how much food they eaten, etc. This comes with many, many hours of game play but it's something you can keep in mind early too. 11. If you seem like you just can't improve at all of these points, try doing one thing at a time, such as only taking your time or only working on fort movement or only counting their shots. Once you mastered that then you can move on to the next mini goal. This enough notes for you? Also sidenote: don't listen to all of these other people in the comments being like "Oh just play whatever you have fun with, it's just a friendly pirate game" no, wrong. You must sweat and be the best, because let me tell you, being the best makes the game the most fun because it gives you the most freedom to do whatever you want. This might be a freedom pirate game but all those crab lords who claim that also get sinked by the sweatlords then cry that they got their freedom was ruined which simply makes them a toxic person. If you're the sweat then YOU can be the enforcer of your ideals, whether that be pveing in the corner of the map or sinking all ships on the server. No one can tell you otherwise when you can just kill and sink their ass. (even though this is only about tdming, don't even get me started on naval) Btw, this is my mindset of the game which is why I left sot because people now days just complain and complain about alleged toxicity because I sank you in the pirate videogame. one weapon combo i highly recommend would be the Sword and Pistol. using the Sword you can have very good movement and you can easily hit multiple targets at once (that only counts if you're fighting a 2+ crew.), and then you can use the pistol to easily kill a player as you can reload quicker than the person can eat. however this loadout isn't liked by TDM community and isn't as functional outside of on-ship combat.

Honestly, the sword is always in my load out... I really like the boost to mobility and usually catch people with the block/lunge after faking sword dodge... my secondary weapon is case dependent, but I have used that sword since 2018 and it's still highly effective with practice
I always hate when people hate on sword, it is BY FAR the most consistent weapon because its not a 50-50 if the bullet does anything or not. Also the sword is amazing with most of the guns.

I love using sword knife as well. I know it is wholly impractical for PvP but for PvE it is fantastically fun if nothing else. The big downside is that the thrown knife can be sword blocked which is kinda bananas. And swords have such useful mobility options.
Throwing knives is completely skill based but they do more damage then pistol and you can fire them off faster 😂 it's projectile speed and velocity that's the main difference. Double barrel is op if you charge 2 shots then you can kill someone with almost any other damage type 😂double barrel shot then 1 sword swing or 1 shot from another gun. Blunderbuss only needs 2 pellets finish them 😂 people sleep on a lot of weapons and combos because the quote unquote meta. But I've seen sword lords like myself wipe a galley crew that's all double gunning with blunders... Block+jump and they miss 😢 and now they are helpless 😂😂😂
Don't sleep on throwing knives! If you get good at your aim with them, they hit as hard as a sword charge-- Tied with a blunderbuss, or a pistol if you've got good aim, you can decimate a target before they can eat, or punish them if they do with another knife. Just never throw your last knife, as I find even the basic swing a good last-second finisher, since it hits fast. I have no real defense for the double barrel pistol, I just like it bc it's goated for PvE, my specialty. You're best switching off it for PvP though.
I don't remember or think that motion blur is a setting in this game but that visual you showed when saying to turn it off is for the blur on ghost treasure 😅

As much hate I’ll get, throwing knives sword is like a better version of the cheese. Throwing knives two shot and are insanely easing to hit shots with. Combine it with sword for movement and you get really good at ship boarding
I just wish they would fix the servers Brinf back Arena abd quick swap Make for limet 130 or at least 100 Nerf blunderbomb ladder gaurding (it has no counter) And make sword stun less annoying or simply remove it. (Give sword users infinite swings to compensate) This would make PvP feel way smoother

Sword and pistol is a GOOD combo, look at players like PhuzzyBond, ALSO make your own decision when it comes to you playstyle, "double gun" takes MAJOR skill and accuracy, so this not recommended for most players, best loadouts for movement and pvp/pve is sword and pistol I win 9/10 with this. He said "please stop" because he's probably lost to it many times.
Sword and pistol is something that i have legitimately never lost to in a 1v1. The only times i have lost to it is when there are two sword users guarding a ladder together.

And, veeeeryyy important remark: If you lost to a sword with a double gun - its 100% your personal skill issue, except for some rare occasions with hitreg. Yep, i am filthy sword user for a long time, not particularly skillful one, but i have around 200 sunken ships in pvp behind my back. And i know how to use sword properly. But, if you got killed by the guy with a sword, while having bussy in your loadout - this is your fault for 100%, you can oneshot sworder easily. If you got yourself cornered by the dude with the sword and can't reload - 100% skill issue. If you missed all 5 your bussy shots - need i say more? All in all if you got killed by a close range weapon (even tho it have mechanics and techs) with like highest ttk in the game - skill issue. Quit complaining and git good.
4 things i thought were important, snipers do 70 damage, crosshairs are bannable and looked down upon, dont tdm if you’re new it’s a mostly toxic part of the community who will hate you if you’re bad and don’t spawncamp it’s also bannable
Crosshairs are not bannable unless you literally report yourself they are not detectable. How exactly is spawncamping bannable? If you find the right people to tdm with they aren't toxic, sounds like a you problem imo
@@Prokat_ yes you are right about crosshairs, the point is that they are bannable and i just wouldn't use them without fully knowing what you are doing. Spawncamping is bannable due to new rules in season 10, im not sure the full scope of it but i know it is bannable now though you can just put a firebomb in the back of the persons ship and then its not bannable. Also if you do find the right group of people its great but it can be really easy to find the wrong group of people.

for everybody that needs it, here i will list damage outputs for every weapon. sword: 25 per slash (x3 combo capability), 60 with a lunge flintlock: 55 per hit blunderbuss: it shoots 10 pellets, dealing 10 for each pellet (so a maximum of 100 damage) sniper: 70 per hit double barrel pistol: 45 for each projectile, 90 if you shoot both of them at the same time throwing knives: 14 per light stab, 65 if trown and 70 with the heavy stab

The trick is not to use the sword for damage, use it for mobility and ladder guarding. 2-tap with the pistol is highly slept on and anyone who disrespects it simply isn't experienced enough to understand how strong it is... Plus have you ever skeeted someone off a sword lunge? Name a more euphoric experience, I'll wait.

Fov is not cheating. It makes targets smaller but for that you see more. It also means I don't get motion sick when I play this game. Paks are also fine as long as they don't give you a competitive advantage. Custom sails, gun skins and using the old hitmarker doesn't effect other players
To be honest, I use Throwing knives and Sniper Rifle. Is it really that bad? I mean.... I am getting kills with it. I think that Throwing Knives are too underestimated.

I can kill skellys, without ads'ing, but only if its really close. I practiced for a while at skull forts. trying to do it all without ads'ing. F'ing Rare rigged it so you have to ads, at least a little. aka quick ads. also, as of last night, I couldn't fire my sniper, until i reached full scope, (literally couldn't quick ads) I would do the quick ads and the gun wouldn't fire unless i had reached full scope. wtf right. every game i have played, the makers continue to tweak it until they ruin it. I think we are almost there with SOT.
@@Death-gate Did you have toggle ads on (you have to press ads once to continue to aim down sight) that might be the issue. I had it like that for a while and reliably quick scoping was a pain. If you do try turning that off in settings so you have to hold ads and that may help you out.
You selected pineapple by opening your radial menu, and then selecting it from that menu by dragging your mouse over it, the you let the go of the key you had pressed all this time in order to select the pineapple. Also the time it took you to read all this, it's time you lost in a fight and you are teaching noobs like me how to play the game when the first thing i did is bind my bucket, planks, spyglass, shovel, food and throwables to the 6 buttons i have on the side of my Naga pro 3.

Lowkey started rolling people with Pistol Snipe. Something feels so nice about not needing to ADS the pistol and having the damage of the sniper.

I love baiting sword users into the throwing knife heavy attack. Knife flintlock is my preferred pvp loadout. But I’m a pve scrub so what do I know.
As much hate I’ll get, throwing knives sword is like a better version of the cheese. Throwing knives two shot and are insanely easing to hit shots with. Combine it with sword for movement and you get really good at ship boarding

I run Blunder and flintlock. Getting used to double gunning took a few days, and i've gotten way better.

Sword and pistol is a GOOD combo, look at players like PhuzzyBond, ALSO make your own decision when it comes to you playstyle, "double gun" takes MAJOR skill and accuracy, so this not recommended for most players, best loadouts for movement and pvp/pve is sword and pistol I win 9/10 with this. He said "please stop" because he's probably lost to it many times.
Sword and pistol is something that i have legitimately never lost to in a 1v1. The only times i have lost to it is when there are two sword users guarding a ladder together.

And, veeeeryyy important remark: If you lost to a sword with a double gun - its 100% your personal skill issue, except for some rare occasions with hitreg. Yep, i am filthy sword user for a long time, not particularly skillful one, but i have around 200 sunken ships in pvp behind my back. And i know how to use sword properly. But, if you got killed by the guy with a sword, while having bussy in your loadout - this is your fault for 100%, you can oneshot sworder easily. If you got yourself cornered by the dude with the sword and can't reload - 100% skill issue. If you missed all 5 your bussy shots - need i say more? All in all if you got killed by a close range weapon (even tho it have mechanics and techs) with like highest ttk in the game - skill issue.

For future reference the Eye of Reach does 70 damage. Not 50 so yes, it will kill you at 60% health. 5:00
4 things i thought were important, snipers do 70 damage, crosshairs are bannable and looked down upon, dont tdm if you’re new it’s a mostly toxic part of the community who will hate you if you’re bad and don’t spawncamp it’s also bannable
Crosshairs are not bannable unless you literally report yourself they are not detectable.
How exactly is spawncamping bannable?
If you find the right people to tdm with they aren't toxic, sounds like a you problem imo

@@Prokat_ yes you are right about crosshairs, the point is that they are bannable and i just wouldn't use them without fully knowing what you are doing. Spawncamping is bannable due to new rules in season 10, im not sure the full scope of it but i know it is bannable now though you can just put a firebomb in the back of the persons ship and then its not bannable. Also if you do find the right group of people its great but it can be really easy to find the wrong group of people.
@RobbieSOT honestly the fact that spawn camping is against the rules now.makes me hate sot even more🤣 it wasnt a chill thing to do but sometimes you had to do it, especially if someone was spam coming back to sink you and wouldnt leave you alone. Sot has really gone tf downhill.

sniper does 70 damage, if you have near or a bit more than 60 its normal that you get one shotted lmao
for everybody that needs it, here i will list damage outputs for every weapon.
sword: 25 per slash (x3 combo capability), 60 with a lunge
flintlock: 55 per hit
blunderbuss: it shoots 10 pellets, dealing 10 for each pellet (so a maximum of 100 damage)
sniper: 70 per hit
double barrel pistol: 45 for each projectile, 90 if you shoot both of them at the same time
throwing knives: 14 per light stab, 65 if trown and 70 with the heavy stab
Update: the knives are OP af in PvP. y’all were just bitching because you weren’t used to them
tip: try top stop them before they even get near you don't approach use an eye of reach to get them before the get near

Nearly gold ghost with flintlock sword. The trick is not to use the sword for damage, use it for mobility and ladder guarding. 2-tap with the pistol is highly slept on and anyone who disrespects it simply isn't experienced enough to understand how strong it is... Plus have you ever skeeted someone off a sword lunge? Name a more euphoric experience, I'll wait.

Sword and snipe is the only kit that bilge should have so its definitley not uneffective
Decent vid but i would say:
•dont use the two new weapons since theyre clunky and hitreg more often and is more effective in pve
•blunder shouldn't be paired with anything other than sniper, flintlock or sword
•you didnt talk about ways to improve accuracy id suggest using the bell on the ship for a while or as you suggested: set up TDM but best to find people who are on similar skill
•and no: using sword sniper is viable you just dont Quickscope

Fov is not cheating. It makes targets smaller but for that you see more. It also means I don't get motion sick when I play this game.
Paks are also fine as long as they don't give you a competitive advantage. Custom sails, gun skins and using the old hitmarker doesn't effect other players

@@Prokat_ well since i found the video ill tell you. It was sponge who answered me. About ads'ing vs non ads'ing. plus i tried it myself. I can kill skellys, without ads'ing, but only if its really close. I practiced for a while at skull forts. trying to do it all without ads'ing. F'ing Rare rigged it so you have to ads, at least a little. aka quick ads. also, as of last night, I couldn't fire my sniper, until i reached full scope, (literally couldn't quick ads) I would do the quick ads and the gun wouldn't fire unless i had reached full scope. wtf right. every game i have played, the makers continue to tweak it until they ruin it. I think we are almost there with SOT.
@@Death-gate Did you have toggle ads on (you have to press ads once to continue to aim down sight) that might be the issue. I had it like that for a while and reliably quick scoping was a pain. If you do try turning that off in settings so you have to hold ads and that may help you out.

You selected pineapple by opening your radial menu, and then selecting it from that menu by dragging your mouse over it, the you let the go of the key you had pressed all this time in order to select the pineapple. Also the time it took you to read all this, it's time you lost in a fight and you are teaching noobs like me how to play the game when the first thing i did is bind my bucket, planks, spyglass, shovel, food and throwables to the 6 buttons i have on the side of my Naga pro 3.
