I'm liking your ship design. Landing bay protected by the mass of the ship, bridge with a clear, elevated command of view, weapons with clear lines of fire. I know none of these things really affect the game play, but it shows your sense of immersion.
You can slow time and run to the ship that way too. It mitigates the chances of it leaving before you get there. It'll also allow you to see what ship it is with a sniper.
Nice vid of the process DeanPo! I hadn't realised that ships not flying in after you land in an isolated area means there's already one on the surface. Nor did I know the tip about waiting till the ship's landed before reloading the quicksave. I also must remember to stick a speed boost on the favourites wheel when I'm doing this... Cheers for those nuggets! But do be aware, when you say "Take out these guys" as you reach the ship during your first heist - if you kill all the guys who've disembarked, the ramp will raise and the ship will leave, and your ship-stealing opportunity is gone. Also, WRT the "ramps never open" bug, this happened to me after a buggy ship theft attempt, when the ship took off while I was still in the loading bay and I got spat out by the ship as it rose to leave, dropping me back to the planet surface. That happening was a bug, and triggered the nastier bug as a result. However, I've also heard this is not the only circumstance that can lead to the "ramps never open" bug. Finally, nice to see someone else with hundreds of hours in FOIS (FallOut In Space) still being frustrated by lockpicking and jump packing through ladder holes, like I frequently am... XD
I don't know what caused it for me. I don't do it as a rule. I first noticed it when a Racoon landed inside of a base I was raiding. That was the first time a ship had done that, and I thought that was normal. A couple of days later, I tried to take over another one, another Racoon and it happened again. I got 10 Racoons in a row before I got 4 Spacer ships in a row with same results.
Interesting tip about waiting for spawned ships to land. I didn't realize it could bug the game out. I'm at the stage where I was scoping the ships in the sky and reloading if they weren't of interest. I'll try your method and see if it improves things. On the system level increasing the chance of a great C-class spawn, I'm not so sure. I'm currently sitting on two Autobahn III shps and a Vista II and I know for a fact they spawned in lower level systems (I once had a Voyager II spawn on Venus but I had to abandon the game!). In the 70+ systems, I tend to get high level Va'ruun and Ecliptic, even Crimson Fleet but I haven't seen much else. My current "white whale" is a Voyager III but I don't want to pirate it in space so I'm not going after the Valentine. My only hope, I think, is for a smuggler spawn and I'm not sure if that's even possible.
I have been doing the lock picking thing for a while. Before the update, I would get 2 or 3 Vista 3s, quite a few Heyna/Wights, Claymores, and Prophecys. But since the update, there are very few Vistas that are empty. You don't need to go to the moons to do this. Also, I noticed that today, you need to scan the land around you. A lot of ships have already landed after you get out of your ship. And many times, there can be 2 or 3. If you have an outpost scan for landing sites around the post. Sometimes, a ship has landed, and the landing site icon doesn't show when you scan. I suggest you use a sniper rifle to scan. Xbox Series X...
If only you could get the actual value of the ship when you sell it. Best I’ve got is about 15%. Which is garbage. They need to fix that now. 50% should be the minimum.
Plot twist. Sell unregistered ships; steal the ship, make it your home ship. Go to ship services tech; view and modify my ships. Select your designated ship by making it your home ship. Then go to buy and sell ships, press Y to sell. scroll over to your home ship; push LB+A simultaneously. Verify the ship price and make sure it matches the ship your trying to sell. I’ve made a shitload of money by going to Serpentis and capturing ships. Varrun ship values are usually good. 40k+
Selling ships for their full retail value would break the game. As this video just showed he could have made a few million credits in a matter of 20-30 minutes which would allow him to buy every single high ticket item in the game with no effort. They made the right decision.
Oh if only we could just have infinite money by easily taking what's supposed to be top their ships and farming them at the beginning of the game. Lol I swear y'all want someone to play it for you too
Thanks on that comment about the doors being closed. I am not playing NG+ but all ships that land have their doors closed. All except the Starborns, but those suck!
On XBox. Just started NG2 last night. I seem to have better luck in the Masada system. First thing was load up on Amp and get rid of the Starborn ship. Went to Masada 6a. First ship Claymore 3 Inaccessible. The second was Freestar Vista Smuggler 3 took that. Third one was strange as an A class was landing but noticed a large blob behind me. Turned out it was a Prophecy 3 just sitting there. Took that and sold it. Third time was a UC Vista 3. Kept that and sold the Freestar. Starting out like NG1 where Vista 3’s are falling from the sky.
Thanks for that. After watching this I thought I would check it out on Fermi IX-C. When I landed there was a ship landing 400m away. ANOTHER ship landed about 500m away landing next to a building and like your video, was able to reload and get a variety of ahips. So yeah, 2 for the price of one. Lol
Does this happen often? I won't be heading into this system anytime soon as I'm still a low level but I'm always looking for more ships to sell off it use.
to me it feels like this method is more dependend on your own lvl than space encounters have tried this long and many times < lvl15 - absolutely nothing worthy spawning by the time i see the the first hyena/wight3 or claymore3 on the ground, i allready have a wraith3 for a long time (which is the better ship to build on anyway) and like 10 wight3 on the way in space encounters

It's exactly what I need. :) I found an Ecliptic Claymore, just the name, no ll or lll, on some planet but would love to find one that has even more cargo space and is stronger. This ship, UC Autobahn lll, is the ship I'll be looking for. And now I know where it may land. I forgot where I found the Ecliptic Claymore, so I wouldn't know how to find the planet and see if the Autobahn lands there too, but it doesn't matter because now I know it definitely lands on Fermi X. I'll remember, it's Fermi X, _Fermi X!!_ 😄
Sometimes you take the guys standing outside out...the ship takes off so...don't shoot them just get inside. And that lockpicking bug was super weird but, I've never had to pick a lock there anyway so, that is also weird that you even had to do that PLUS...no enemies on the ship itself with the alarm sounding? I have never boarded a ship without enemies and alarms so again, that too is weird...unless you had the game on super piss easy mode. Have to also add kudos for your encyclopaediac knowledge of ship types...with 350+ hours in and level 78 I couldn't tell you one ship name or what they looked like (Because I don't much care, i always build ships out of other ships anyway and give them new names) even from distance you pretty much had a handle on what ship it was.
Hey Brett, if you check my latest guide, I have spawned those ships at level 8. And the video that’s about to drop is how to build the ultimate ship by level 15 =]. There is no level cap when the best ships drop, it’s a common misconception

Do those ships appear only when your character has reached a certain level? I'm a level 20, out farming at Bohr and Fermi but only Ghost Ships and Varuuns been popping up. 🤷♂️
Were the lockpicking rings not blue because of the increased difficulty? Is that part of the difficulty tier, maybe? That you don't even get the clue of which pick fits in which ring? It could very well be a bug given who made the game, but I could see this being the explanation as well.
Great vid and 100% guarantee to spawn a ship, many thanks 🙂 However, there seems to be a limited loot table of Class C ships that spawn this way. I used this method for a few of hours yesterday, switching between different planets & moons in all the lvl 75 inhabited systems (Archimedes, Bohr, Fermi, Huygens & Masada) and could only get the following Class C’s to spawn: Va’ruun Prophecy III, Wight/Hyena III, Vista III, Claymore III. All great ships, but I wonder if there’s a way to change the loot table and get other ships using this method? Or maybe RNG was just messing with me…(I’m playing on Xbox, lvl 114, NG+8, v hard)

I get a LOT of Claymore III’s in the Syrma system these days, ever since I was jacking around at my outpost and saw one just sitting there for the taking. I’m gonna try this and see if I can snag a Vista III. Good vid!!!
@deanpogaming strange since the save point would have been prior to its existence, unless that's predetermined at planet entry loading. On the plus side if ever someone finds that ship they want and couldn't get to it in time... it's helpful to get the same ship again. ;)
it is because quick load is not the same as load, nor quick save vs save, quick load dont discard all the data from the current game. if you want your game to bug late game, just use quick save and quick load. it did to me, lucky that had a normal save 4 hours earlier.
@MrDvneil awesome sauce! I did just that with the saves, switching to more often then not save vs. Quick save and found far less errors/ glitches occurring.
Hey Simon, do you have a controller? If you do, there is a way to sell the ships without registering. Thus you bypass registration fee and sell at selling price =)
Gotta give credit where credit is due. Your putting a lot of work in. For that alone subbing. Thought i was subbed already..I've been meaning to mention that playing now is blowing my mind. Xbox. I can no longer figure out if i am doing something wrong or its the game. Every update seems to make the game worse. Even lock picking. Occasional bug. Missions disappearing then coming back. Basically there are to many to even try to mention. I really like this game but so many wasted hours. Anyway thanks for time and vids.

I'm on my first playthrough. I don't go after ships as a rule. The other day I did and it was a Racoon with unopened landing bay doors. I tried some more and got 10 consecutive Racoons. Are you saying that the only way to fix it is to start a new game? I'm on Xbox X.
Apparently, this technique is level-dependent, or else only works for PC gamers. I landed on various spots on the planet and ... nothing. (Yes, I followed every step of the instructions precisely.)
When I kill the crew out on the surface the ship usually takes off immediately. There was one time I hopped on and they took of shortly after I boarded. I had to occupy the ship to get back to the planets surface.
I must not be doing something right, when attempting to board / steal a ship, the door is either open / unlocked or it says inaccessible. My security is maxed out so what skill am I missing or is it I am just not seeing / getting the right ships?
I think that 99% of the players don't know that the difference between the kind I II and III of the ships are minimal, but anyone none on the game is a top tier ship because the top tier are the one that you build by yourself and can cost over 1 million if you do it good. With an Autobahn III that has over 596K value you will earn nearly nothing, its not worth to sell ships on this game.
Depends on your end goal, do you need an upgrade, are you a collector or do you need cash. Unless you use the controller glitch not really worth it selling

If you’re on pc you will need a controller to do the no registration glitch. I made a guide on it, you go either one in front or behind the ship you would like to sell and then LB+A or Rb+a and release. You should be able to sell the ship without registering it. Also works on console
U know the update of starfield should do something about this type of spawning and not removing trader chests and also how long does it take most times to get those to spawn i mean i never even incountert a uc vista not once not in space not on planets
I think there's some kind of glitch on xbox because i see ships land, drop off troops and immediately take off. Im too far away to make it to the ship or be detected so im not scaring th off.....SUPER ANNOYING not being able to steal ships.
my game on xbox wont let me board the ships the ramp is always closed when i get there any ideas how to fix this ?? i had to pirate a claymore 3 took me hours to find one
So after save scumming for the last few weeks for certain weapons, it is a waste of time for the most part, and still hasn't dropped what I am wanting. Waiting for a better weapon to sell for credits isn't so hard but, waiting for a specific roll is a ridiculous, discouraging, waste of time. I don't mind the grind to get the weapon you want, it makes you appreciate it when it does finally drop. I have many good legendary weapons but when RNG punishes you to the point that you have lost interest in the game is plain stupid.
DON'T do this now if you don't want to break your saves. Bethesda has a crippling bug in the ship related part of the game. A quicksave or autosave made in the ship breaks the calculation of your ship related skills and crew. You can test it, make a clean save on a planet, note your shield strength, fly to Serpentis, get killed, the autosave gets loaded. Check your shield strength, it's reduced permanently, unless you go back to that clean save. The side comment about the game breaking so you need to go NG+, it's BECAUSE of using methods like that. The only really expensive things you can reuse from a ship are rarely thrusters, mostly generator and grav drive. The rest of the ship is cheap as hell. So go to Serpentis, get any 40 pips generator ship by simple space take over, and customize the rest. Never load a save made in the ship, and you'll be fine with everything accumulated in your universe. Unless you want to go NG+ anyway. Don't take advice from someone with that skill in lock picking 😂 Sorry, couldn't resist, no offence 😋🙏
I prefer the Claymore. It's a f*cking beast of a ship and has a higher crew. You need at least 5 or 6 to get that crew commander leveled up. Plus, the claymore has a nice form.
I hate them big ships, everytime i get one and decide to do my ship on it, I make it like 2 times smaller 🤣 like now I got that ecliptic 3 with 50y grav drive, big one. I made it to a 20x16 power beatle even with the 2 floor pit 😃 not loosing any power, strength.. just getting more actually. Then i got some crimson 3rd ship..massive.. 😅 not even bothered doing anything, sold for 71k straight away 😃
I finally got another Claymore III. It dropped in right near me when I landed to do one of those "kill the pirate boss" missions on a lvl 70 moon.

Very highly recommend looting the ship before you set in the pilot seat. Especially cargo container and captains locker…

It’s a nice tactic but by the time you’re a high enough level to spawn those expensive ships you can easily build your own superior ship!

Your level will usually dictate the quality of ships that will drop, so too will the level of the system =)

Curious what the significance is in letting the ship land first before reloading? Since the reload occurs prior to the ship entry...

I'm on my first playthrough. I don't go after ships as a rule. The other day I did and it was a Racoon with unopened landing bay doors. I tried some more and got 10 consecutive Racoons. Are you saying that the only way to fix it is to start a new game? I'm on Xbox X.

Apparently, this technique is level-dependent, or else only works for PC gamers. I landed on various spots on the planet and ... nothing. (Yes, I followed every step of the instructions precisely.)
When I kill the crew out on the surface the ship usually takes off immediately. There was one time I hopped on and they took of shortly after I boarded. I had to occupy the ship to get back to the planets surface.

I must not be doing something right, when attempting to board / steal a ship, the door is either open / unlocked or it says inaccessible. My security is maxed out so what skill am I missing or is it I am just not seeing / getting the right ships?

I think that 99% of the players don't know that the difference between the kind I II and III of the ships are minimal, but anyone none on the game is a top tier ship because the top tier are the one that you build by yourself and can cost over 1 million if you do it good. With an Autobahn III that has over 596K value you will earn nearly nothing, its not worth to sell ships on this game.

Depends on your end goal, do you need an upgrade, are you a collector or do you need cash. Unless you use the controller glitch not really worth it selling

Where do you sell ships for most profit?
If you’re on pc you will need a controller to do the no registration glitch. I made a guide on it, you go either one in front or behind the ship you would like to sell and then LB+A or Rb+a and release.
You should be able to sell the ship without registering it. Also works on console
U know the update of starfield should do something about this type of spawning and not removing trader chests and also how long does it take most times to get those to spawn i mean i never even incountert a uc vista not once not in space not on planets
I have not been able to pilot ANY UC ship I find. I get the unauthorized to pilot message bug. 😢 level 204. Skills are not the issue.

I think there's some kind of glitch on xbox because i see ships land, drop off troops and immediately take off. Im too far away to make it to the ship or be detected so im not scaring th off.....SUPER ANNOYING not being able to steal ships.

So after save scumming for the last few weeks for certain weapons, it is a waste of time for the most part, and still hasn't dropped what I am wanting. Waiting for a better weapon to sell for credits isn't so hard but, waiting for a specific roll is a ridiculous, discouraging, waste of time.
I don't mind the grind to get the weapon you want, it makes you appreciate it when it does finally drop. I have many good legendary weapons but when RNG punishes you to the point that you have lost interest in the game is plain stupid.

Yes, but his technique and location allows him to choose the ship he is capturing. And he chooses the ones with the highest selling price.
DON'T do this now if you don't want to break your saves. Bethesda has a crippling bug in the ship related part of the game. A quicksave or autosave made in the ship breaks the calculation of your ship related skills and crew. You can test it, make a clean save on a planet, note your shield strength, fly to Serpentis, get killed, the autosave gets loaded. Check your shield strength, it's reduced permanently, unless you go back to that clean save.
The side comment about the game breaking so you need to go NG+, it's BECAUSE of using methods like that.
The only really expensive things you can reuse from a ship are rarely thrusters, mostly generator and grav drive. The rest of the ship is cheap as hell. So go to Serpentis, get any 40 pips generator ship by simple space take over, and customize the rest. Never load a save made in the ship, and you'll be fine with everything accumulated in your universe. Unless you want to go NG+ anyway.

I prefer the Claymore. It's a f*cking beast of a ship and has a higher crew. You need at least 5 or 6 to get that crew commander leveled up. Plus, the claymore has a nice form.

I hate them big ships, everytime i get one and decide to do my ship on it, I make it like 2 times smaller 🤣 like now I got that ecliptic 3 with 50y grav drive, big one. I made it to a 20x16 power beatle even with the 2 floor pit 😃 not loosing any power, strength.. just getting more actually. Then i got some crimson 3rd ship..massive.. 😅 not even bothered doing anything, sold for 71k straight away 😃
