I was actually shocked seeing how little there was in the IN LIFE album, especially compared to ODDINARY. But then I think it's endearing too, because you can immediately see just how much they've grown and were able to earn more money for the production quality of their albums.

I am too frugal to buy anything expensive for myself but tbh, I have enjoyed how you point out all the different sounds, that previously I didn't even hear before you pointed them out, in your reactions ! If you preorder they offer more items as a pre order benefit and some stores carry extra ‘gifts’ / photocards which are exclusive cards with different pictures like there’s usually an Apple Music photo cards sets but it depends on what local stores carry. I buy from a store called evepink and they carry a bunch of merch and ship internationally. There are also US exclusives in some albums like I think target usually carries the us exclusives and there are exclusives photocards in target, Walmart, Barnes and noble and Amazon
Just a heads up if you don’t already know!! The new album consists of the title track walking on water , the song bounce back, the song U (featuring Tablo) , another version of walking on water, and then there are 8 solo songs each made by each member , each solo song has the unique color and style of each member 🤍
For me personally, I like to just buy one of each version and that’s it. I’ve seen people do things with the CDs, like displaying them along with photos. I think you're starting to need to get to know the names and how talented each guy is now. I mean...you have a Chan bias...but once you get to know how talented Han is...then your first "bias wrecking" might be coming! He's the "Ace" of kpop as he can produce, write (amazing) lyrics, rap, freestyle rap, sing and dance. I know we all sound biased, but just like listening to their music opened your eyes to their actual musical ability, if you take the time to discover their talents, you will discover that we are not all deluded and biased...just wiser about how very talented they are. Lol Also, getting to know them individually will help you analyse the solo songs in the new album when it comes out.

But your luck in getting your bias's photocard is about as good as mine 😂 Also hang on to those CDs whether you have a player or not (I don't either) because with the way all kinds of digital stuff is getting deleted these days it's good to have a physical copy of your music!

Once you have enough CDs you can put them on a frame. When I first started following Stray Kids 4yrs ago, I bought one of each of the albums that had already been released, so I could have them all, but after that I started buying more than one. I have way too many!!

In Life was one of the first albums I bought. It opens backwards because the title track is back door, I thought that was pretty neat. And honestly I had to bring out my old radio to play these CDs lol. Now that I'm into kpop and have more CDs, I'm trying to use them more, so I usually play them while I'm tidying my room. I actually love the stickers too, I'm into journalling so they get used well
Their solos are part of the concert setlist! Can't wait for the album to drop. I paid about 65sgd for my lightstick online (after discounts). At the concert itself, it would've costed me 80sgd. YOU NEED THE LIGHTSTICK for the concert. It syncs up with the concert setlist - blew my mind when I went for their concert in Sept.
just a tip, if you want to buy more albums for cheaper you can usually find them from online kpop store websites, even with shipping costs sometimes online is cheaper than in person! Target and music plaza and in person stores in LA are pretty expensive for albums, same with other merch
if you just want the pcs you can buy them online or in stores. the place you went to doesn’t sell them but others do and you have options. also it’s better to join the album preorder period (same price) since there’s more stuff that you will get. and you have a better chance of getting the limited album or even signed albums.

I also got 7 baseball size cards: Bang Chan, I.N and Lee Know, plus unit groups including Minsung!!

So I always have a way to play my albums. Buying physical albums is mostly for the picture books, the PCs, and the pretty boxes. Some are not great, but most are. (Looking at you Rock-Star album....Do better.) And I've been told that car stereos really like physical CDs, and they sound crisper than digital. Sadly I don't have a car anymore. Too expensive. So. Physical albums are for collectors. And it's a bonus if you have ways to play the CDs. A lot of albums come with Pre-order bonuses if you order them before it comes out. Normally a poster & a few extras. Also. There are what are called Nemo albums. They are just the photo cards, and a digital download card for the album. So you don't have the bulky albums & physical CD. Lightsticks are awesome if you can get them. But do be careful about the batteries. If you aren't going to be turning it on a lot, remove the battery pack. Leaving it in the lightstick, & letting the battery drain, can sometimes effect the wiring in it & it will stop working properly. Personally, I would love to get three different groups' lightsticks. (Actually I just found out that Epik High's lightstick is a middle finger....Might want that one too. Even though I don't really follow many of their stuff. Just too fun not to.) Idealy, I would get Stray Kids, Ateez, and Dreamcatcher's lightsticks......But I think that if I ever get the chance, I would buy Dreamcatcher's stick first...And would have to get the mood light as well. Because theirs can be made into a staff, and the mood light has a flame shaped cover that can be switched for the regular globe of the normal lightstick. So I could have a witches staff with a flame on top.....I'm sad that the newer staves don't have the lyrics for their fans song Full Moon written on them anymore. But it still comes in a coffin, so that's a bonus.
I have albums and dont play the cds, but have a dedicated shelf for everything! They are still cool to have! Also, you can trade cards! Maybe take them to the concert and interact with other fans see what cards they have!
I buy usually one of each of the main albums and then sometimes they have smaller member specific versions that i will buy a selection of. I dont buy them specifically TO get certain cards. I like collecting the albums and then trading photocards for the ones i want 😊
Usually if you buy a new album as a pre-order (still a chance to do that with HOP, I need to buy my own haha) you get a bonus card or poster or something like that 😂 InLife is one of their oldest, which is probably why there's less stuff. I started buying K-pop albums last year and I also didn't have a CD player, not even in my car, but my husband got me one this year as a birthday present 😂

I also do not have a CD player for all my albums. Only just bought a vinyl player after pre ordering Come Play on vinyl 😂 Absolutely buy multiples to get pcs. Life of a collector is expensive.
I usually play my SKZ CDs on my dad's old Panasonic boombox (I think it's the RX-DT75) that's like a meter long and still works perfectly somehow. The sound is as thunderous as their music so it works lol

If you want more cards or a poster, pre-ordering an album almost always comes with extras. Things like posters, stickers, an extra card or postcard... could be different things for different albums. I found an online retailer in the UK who gets the albums from Korea, which saves me the trouble of trying to do it myself (there are no physical kpop stores where I live.) I ordered one that had the official JYP shop pre-order bonus and got an extra card. The price is good for the UK, in the area of £30 unless you buy some kind of special version. Most albums from Stray Kids come in two normal versions plus a limited version, each of which will have a different coloured box or cover art. The photo book and cards you get will be different for each version. The limited edition for Oddinary was black and green and had the best photo book and cards of the three versions, but I could no longer find it in the UK by the time I purchased the album. I found Stray Kids in the Oddinary era, but at the time I didn't know about kpop comebacks, albums, etc. I have now collected their entire catalogue, which has meant my birthday and christmas lists for the last couple of years were full of Stray Kids albums.😂 Buying the albums as they release them spreads the cost out for me. Over a year they typically have two Korean albums and a Japanese album, but it changes. Now that I'm caught up, I always go the pre-order route. I feel good about supporting the Kids this way. They have brought so much joy to my life.
I'm the same. Just collecting one of each album through my Birthday and Christmas lists, and now pre-ordering new ones as they come out. They bring me so much joy in my life, I feel like I'm supporting them when I buy the album. It's not even about the pictures for me. Once its unboxed and seen its on the shelf. But I'm enjoying watching my collection grow.

As for the cards, I do like the excitement of not knowing who I'll get and hoping for certain members that I haven't gotten in a while (Changbin and Felix, I love you both to bits, but please give someone else a chance!) But I don't trade them or buy extras or anything. I just enjoy the surprise and then having them in my little collection.

If you are into displaying the CDs at all, I highly suggest the...I don't remember which version it is, but for the ATE album, there is one that is beautiful. It has traditional Korean style art on it. It if the only one I have displayed so far.

1. Imho it’s actually worth listening to SKZ’s physical CDs - my car still does cds but I also got a cheap little cd player off Amazon and hooked it up to my tv stereo with an aux cord. If you do actually get one you’ll hear why I recommended it (especially for Five Star imho). 2. I did get into collecting the stuff and it is a lot but it’s really fun somehow 😅 I do actually currently have some extras and can send you some Laptop Guy cards if you like, haha

Now you box them all, put them on a shelf and flex your collection of SKZ albums lol. I also don't own a CD player, but I love all of the variety of 'extras' you get. I limit myself to 1 album, and haven't collected them all yet. The only thing I wanted for Christmas this year though was photocard/scrapbook for my ever growing photocard collection haha. Many will take their extra cards with them to the concert and trade with STAY there.
@@oneheart19 In some cases people actually set up stands or sign or something similar, before the concert starts for trading photocards or other merch! You might have a chance there, if not, you just gotta be an extrovert and ask some stays. I don’t really know anything else, this is just my experience 😭
And now you know why KPop fans are always broke! Between buying albums / photocards / special merch to the cost of the concert tickets - not to mention travel to and from the venue - and buying merch at the concert - we're always broke! I usually play my SKZ CDs on my dad's old Panasonic boombox (I think it's the RX-DT75) that's like a meter long and still works perfectly somehow. The sound is as thunderous as their music so it works lol
I love this for you!! The first time I bought a SKZ album was my first kpop album too and I used latex gloves so I wouldnt put my fingerprints on the cards lmaooo - my friend said I went overboard lol

If you want more cards or a poster, pre-ordering an album almost always comes with extras. Things like posters, stickers, an extra card or postcard... could be different things for different albums.
I found an online retailer in the UK who gets the albums from Korea, which saves me the trouble of trying to do it myself (there are no physical kpop stores where I live.) I ordered one that had the official JYP shop pre-order bonus and got an extra card. The price is good for the UK, in the area of £30 unless you buy some kind of special version.
Most albums from Stray Kids come in two normal versions plus a limited version, each of which will have a different coloured box or cover art. The photo book and cards you get will be different for each version. The limited edition for Oddinary was black and green and had the best photo book and cards of the three versions, but I could no longer find it in the UK by the time I purchased the album.
I found Stray Kids in the Oddinary era, but at the time I didn't know about kpop comebacks, albums, etc. I have now collected their entire catalogue, which has meant my birthday and christmas lists for the last couple of years were full of Stray Kids albums.😂
Buying the albums as they release them spreads the cost out for me. Over a year they typically have two Korean albums and a Japanese album, but it changes. Now that I'm caught up, I always go the pre-order route. I feel good about supporting the Kids this way. They have brought so much joy to my life.
I'm the same. Just collecting one of each album through my Birthday and Christmas lists, and now pre-ordering new ones as they come out. They bring me so much joy in my life, I feel like I'm supporting them when I buy the album. It's not even about the pictures for me. Once its unboxed and seen its on the shelf. But I'm enjoying watching my collection grow.

As for the cards, I do like the excitement of not knowing who I'll get and hoping for certain members that I haven't gotten in a while (Changbin and Felix, I love you both to bits, but please give someone else a chance!) But I don't trade them or buy extras or anything. I just enjoy the surprise and then having them in my little collection.

Getting albums and merch in the uk isn't that easy. I wish they had kpop stores here. I keep going back to the JYP store online to buy direct from source but its always sold out. I feel like JYP are letting them down there. Do you buy from Sokolab?
If you are into displaying the CDs at all, I highly suggest the...I don't remember which version it is, but for the ATE album, there is one that is beautiful. It has traditional Korean style art on it. It if the only one I have displayed so far.

1. Imho it’s actually worth listening to SKZ’s physical CDs - my car still does cds but I also got a cheap little cd player off Amazon and hooked it up to my tv stereo with an aux cord. If you do actually get one you’ll hear why I recommended it (especially for Five Star imho).
2. I did get into collecting the stuff and it is a lot but it’s really fun somehow 😅 I do actually currently have some extras and can send you some Laptop Guy cards if you like, haha
3. Target has some of the more recent SKZ albums for $25 and certain versions of those come with extra Target exclusive cards
I play the CDs in my car at full volume...no other way to play the CDs
now if you had a PO BOX,, best believe id ship some albums to you so you can get your laptop guy 😂 and in my opinion, best albums for photocards were Noeasy, Go Live, 5 Star & anything Levanter and below but NOEASY could've been the besttttt

Now you box them all, put them on a shelf and flex your collection of SKZ albums lol. I also don't own a CD player, but I love all of the variety of 'extras' you get. I limit myself to 1 album, and haven't collected them all yet. The only thing I wanted for Christmas this year though was photocard/scrapbook for my ever growing photocard collection haha.
Many will take their extra cards with them to the concert and trade with STAY there.
I wanna do that at the Chicago concert in June, but how do I find other interested stays to trade with? Any tips?
@@oneheart19 In some cases people actually set up stands or sign or something similar, before the concert starts for trading photocards or other merch! You might have a chance there, if not, you just gotta be an extrovert and ask some stays. I don’t really know anything else, this is just my experience 😭

Between buying albums / photocards / special merch to the cost of the concert tickets - not to mention travel to and from the venue - and buying merch at the concert - we're always broke! I buy one of each version. And then if I don't get the cards I want I buy or trade for them later. They are expensive enough without buying multiples of the same one.
