  • As the title implies, this video demonstrates how to use the Yakima SpeedKnob. The Yakima SpeedKnob is utilized by multiple contemporary Yakima Hitch Bike Racks. Its function is to secure and lock the hitch rack into the hitch receiver.

A little silicone lube and whacking the red knob did it. Thanks.

Where do you buy those hitch holders for storing the bike rack? So cool!

I know this is a long shot, but does anyone know where to get a replacement wedge? I'm missing the big silver wedge and whatever else goes in the shaft

Maybe convenient, but would make me nervous to put a few grand of bikes on. I see a few reviews on amazon where this thing slid out of the receiver and totaled the bikes. Really wish there was still an option to put a pin through so its absolutely sure not going to disengage.

The safety pin you put in comes out too easy

Some models of the ridgeback have the safety pin. I know mine does.

Who designs this shit? The pin doesn't go all the through and it cannot because the threaded rod that tightens the anchor is completely in the way. I have an 1.25 hitch so the extra spacers get removed . The pin barely goes in and doesn't even go straight in because the rod is in the way. I'm still waiting for my trailer hitch to be delivered so I haven't actually put bike rack into the hitch yet but this design seems illogical so far.
