I’ve never seen them practice on someone with horrible nails. Like clients who have high cuticle growth :( it’d be extremely helpful if they can do a full acrylic set on someone with terrible cuticles and do it on real time. I’d like to see how they manage their time with someone who has terrible cuticle growth.

I'd like to see that too, my cuticles, sidewalls, and hangnails are constantly a mess (mostly due to my job, but a lot os also genetic) - I'd like to see a real time as well, on how to tackle it

Nailcou channel she has 1 client who is a chef and her natural nails are a disaster (bitten, extreme cuticles/protein growth, deep sidewalls) plus she comes in about 6 weeks so they’re overgrown. The transformations are incredible‼️
I have poor thin nails with rapid protein growth and crazy deep sidewalls so I spend almost more time prepping than doing my nails. This video was helpful with the order of steps and tips like brushing toward you, applying prep mid to end not cuticle to end but Nailcou is where I learned prepping the cuticle/sidewall areas best.
Best of luck everyone….you got this 😎👊🏻

After watching numerous videos YN instructors have done I can't believe the shortcuts, skipped steps and just plain harmful things "professionals" have subjected my nails to. Big factor in me deciding to get serious about learning to do them myself. Glad I found YN's channel and have learned what's right and what's not. The tutorials have been excellent and I love the products I've tried. Definitely plan on buying more from them.

    Melissa,
Great video, you explain things so well.
Thought I would add to the pocket lifting problem.
I found many client get it when a nail should have broke but didn't.
So you go to open the car door in the middle of winter, you pull the handle expecting the door to open, and it's frozen shut. It feels like you just ripped your entire nail out of your finger....
You look down with teared eyes to find the nail is actually still there, amazed you kick your car and use words only heard in the toughest prisons, and then go along with your day. A few days later you notice a pocket of air in your nail....Many do not make the connection that the car is to blame. That air pocket is where your finger and nail took all of the pressure and force from the door.
Also, it doesn't only happen with cars...I have done it to myself cleaning the stupid house - wiping the kitchen counter and I jab my finger straight into the wall. This causes the same reaction : Swearing and tears... and the same air pocket under your nail...:(

my trouble is i do all these steps but i can't ever make it to see if my nails are gonna lift. i know my struggles with full cover nails, usually air bubbles but with nail extensions or tips i can never get them to stay on they pop off and i made sure they were stuck well and rock them up but when i go to cut them down or file the shape before applying gel, acrylic, polygel or whatever i tend to use they end up popping off and i don't understand why. anyone have any ideas? i know i should use forms instead but figured i should learn tips to while i'm at it so that's why i keep trying with tips

    • @catpride1323
      @catpride1323 ปีที่แล้ว

They are popping off right after gluing? Before you get the product ontop? Is that right?
So, you say your doing all the steps?
You've prepped your own nails, filed every spot (lightly), dehydrated them, primer or protein bond. Yes?
You etched the underside of the tip?
Etching with a file, not using primer? Yes?
And these tips are sized to your actual size, not what you want them to be (smaller) to small will pop off. They just can't handle, the stretch.
If all of that is a yes, then what are you using for glue? Is it professional nail glue? Or from the dollar store? Keep in mind, there isn't a one for all, for everyone. What works for you and your body chemistry, doesn't work for your neighbors. Try another brand... and read the ingredients, so you don't buy the same item, in a different label.
Oh, and I forgot to ask, - You don't do silly things like, wash your hands after prepping them or stick them in your mouth - right.??
(You'd be surprised...) touch them with your fingers, getting oils on them?
Where are the tips from,? Made of? Is it 100% ABS Plastic?
I mean if everything is as it should be, then I'm a little stumped... and now, this will now keep me up late pondering...
There is an odd percentage of the population that just cannot have nails due to their body chemistry, but its low.. like 0.01 percent... (I made up those numbers :))
How do you do in acrylic? Gel, etc?
If you can wear the other products, then I dont think your of the 0.01 %, something is going on, and we just don't know what it is... Which is why I'll be up pondering... lol

So glad you mentioned the pooling up of the protein bond at the cuticle. When I got my 1st YN purchase I was so excited to get into it, then the next day I realized I had some lifting on 1 finger & I didn’t understand why, so when I went to fix it I paid close attention & that’s when I saw the small pool of protein bond at my cuticle & I thought 🤔 maybe that’s why, used my lint free wipe to absorb the excess & finished my nail. It’s been a month & the nails haven’t budged since.

I’ve never been able to have gel nails last more than a few hours, and didn’t realize that maybe it was my soft nails that always caused them to pop off. Wasn't using a manicure brush before like I should have been, ordered one for the next time I have to fix a nail or do a new set. I've also been using rubbing alcohol as my swipe but I ordered nail cleanser and nail wipes. I'm pretty sure after watching this, it made me realize I was using way too much nail prep before laying down my base gel. Swipe really is what you need for dehydrating. Using regular alcohol is fine but i can see a difference when i use swipe my nail and even my surrounding skin are chalky and really dehydrated ready for application.

Hi. I've watched several of your videos but I have never used the system and I've never commented before. I enhance my nails because I play finger style on steel string guitar. I've tried many different ways of doing it: fiberglass mesh and nail glue wraps like James Taylor; acrylic tips with nail glue & dip powder, nail glue and dip powder without the tips, and some combinations thereof (like fiberglass wraps with an acrylic dip finish). Because I am using them as a tool and not as decoration they tend to want to pop off. They've popped off enough different times that my nail itself is like a sheet of paper. If I am without an enhancement they would tear right off. I'm trying to get to the point where I'm not destroying the natural nail and they can grow back in strong and full thickness. Because I play everyday I can't give myself weeks without some sort of enhancement, as is so often suggested. I've never used the YN system so I think I might need to look into it, though it's very expensive, but if it would work I don't care. I also think I've been making them too thick and apparently that's also an issue for popping off. I don't particularly care what they look like as much as I care that they don't come off! I don't paint them I just play the guitar. Any suggestions would be awesome! I've been doing this for years and still haven't come up with a system that works consistently for one or two weeks (and also doesn't destroy my nails). I know there's also plenty of people that do this b/c they play guitar, and there's a lot of information out there from guitarists, but they are not nail experts. Maybe you could specifically address in a video what to do if you're a guitarist and how to enhance your nails that way, using the YN system. I know many classical guitarists (which I am not) tend towards gel enhancements but I don't like the sound on the steel strings. I'd rather the fiberglass system or the acrylic dip or a fusion of the two. Plus since the thumb is at an odd angle while playing, I like to extend the nail so it's a little bit further towards the outside of my hand than it could naturally grow. Makes a big difference, and I tend to use some fiberglass mesh to help bridge that and create a little more ability to act in tension (like the reinforcing mesh in concrete towards the bottom keeps it from cracking because it gives it some tensile strength. I've been in the field of architecture for a long time so I know some of this stuff 😅). Also because of the nail hitting the string, the outside of my thumb and the thumb-side of my index finger and started to pull from the nail bed. I know the only way to reattach this is to remove that part of the nail and let it regrow in but I don't think that's happening because I don't have time for that. Any suggestions that would help the guitarists that need enhancements to get the volume and dynamics that we need would be awesome! Thanks!

We would recommend looking into our fiber gel product or if you are wanting to use tips, we would use acrylic over them instead if a dip powder with resin.

I am loving this tutorial! I have one client that loves her crazy long nails and the not your everyday nail art to go along with it. She is always coming back with at least one nail that's popped off. I already do most of the steps but you've gone into such detail that I'll be sure to follow. I know a lot of it is probably her job. (She's a cashier at Fry's and well known because of her nails) But all her keying and catching them in the small carry baskets doesn't help I'm sure. lol
