I was thinking the same‼️ Not everyone is blessed with Suzie’s BEAUTIFUL nail beds I bet 1 viewers issue is 100 other viewers issue. She is the best, so patient, thoughtful and kind 🥰
I used to be the worst nail-biter you could meet. Then I found Suzie on the internet. Her passion for nails, patience and bottomless knowledge have helped me do my own nails and I haven’t been a nail-biter for a few years now!!!! Even my natural nails look nice now. Thank you, Suzie. You are a life saver
Had the same issue this week on one person I did (right index finger popped off). I lost my nail confidence and felt crushed, this video empowered me to not give up and improve my technique. Thank you Suzie 💙
I love watching you break it down for learners! You always share important information and helpful solutions to real problems. People sometimes don’t think of it as ENGINEERING. But building a structurally sound, lasting, adhered nail IS engineering. It’s physics, math, chemistry, environmental elements, budget, and architecture. I mean yeah it’s not the Golden Gate Bridge lol, but it’s still a small scale engineering project. The enhanced nail is a bridge from cuticle to tip.
I don't wear nails and have no intention of ever becoming a nail tech but I have been watching all of your videos over the past 2 days. My friend and I are planning a trashy drunk spa day and I looked up pedicure and manicure stuff and found your videos, and just kept watching. Such calm vibes, hearing the story of you and camera man is so cute, love the cats, and such creative nails. wonderful channel.
Thank you to Makayla for sharing the pictures! I love this type of tutorial video. I hope to see more of them with using pictures of viewers’ nails and how to help them with nail technique. So many people do nails at home now, I think it is important to help them learn correctly so it is safe. It can be a nice hobby but end badly if the process isn’t done safely.
When I went to nail tech school I could already do nails better than the teacher. Watching your videos has helped me tremendously with hard areas like next to the cuticles. Thank you so much for these wonderful videos!💕
This was fantastic- I really hope you do more Q&A type side by side videos like this in the future - it’s really helpful to see this!! Can’t wait to try again on my own nails!
Thank you so much for introducing this type of video! So informative. I know you've been covering these things multiple times, but helping us fix problems on our own nails makes it more on point with the true struggles 🤣 I love you so very much! Please bring us more videos like this! 🤗😘❤😘🤗
My nails are very similar to hers….short nail bed, very flat and thin natural nails. I keep mine short but MY biggest problem is I have very VERY deep sidewalls so it’s easy to flood those areas and that leads to too much filing to thin out and then my nails break. Is there a trick for that⁉️ You are such a helpful teacher 🤓 That’s why we ❤️ U‼️
This is why I love watching your video’s. You are always so kind to other beginner nail techs and focus on the right things instead on the wrong things. I do my nails for several years now and still don’t get the hang of it, but as we go we learn and your video’s help a lot. Great tips to remember!
I had the same issue and proper prep totally changed everything! I do gel-x nails so I don't have to worry about building structure or shaping but I do still have to worry about making sure I properly prep my nails and make sure they're not compromised. It's incredible what a bit of knowledge and a lot of practice make a world of difference
I was having so many issues with polygel myself too! Worth note: for me, I bought an Amazon kit that didn’t come with base coat or primer, and didn’t include it in their instructions, but it made ALL the difference for me! I think their polygel just didn’t have the best adherence tbh. But if I do an acid free primer and base gel first? Then I’ve got no problem! Stays on just fine. If anybody else is using cheap polygel, try out a full prep with dehydrator, acid free primer, and base gel, and see if it helps!
a thousand thanks to you Suzie and also to Mikaela for giving us such amazing teaching moments! I have been doing my nails myself now for around 6 years and I hardly ever have problems now! I have you to thank for a lot of that Suzie! Also to Mikaela, if she ever reads this lol, thank you for sharing your journey and photos, it is tremendously helpful to all the people out there learning along with you and gives great opportunity to Suzie to help and educate with real life examples! 🥰❤
Lovely to have a real pro explaining what went wrong. Great video, and great advice. We'll all take the third, third and third advice on board for sure. 🙂💜👌💐🇬🇧
You are such a nice instructor! I have never heard of the 1/3 rule and I have such tiny mail beds that it perfectly explained why my nails always fall off even when professionally done! (And also that maybe I overuse my nails regardless) but this is another great thing for me to keep in mind for next time
Suzie, great tutorial and encouragement. It is so good that you DO the mani steps for visual learners. One thing I would recommend to Makayla to do is to LOOK AT your examples and compare, as you did in the tutorial; she may be “doing” all the steps, but looking at the photos indicate that there is definitely still cuticle present. We all have to examine the nail to make sure we get it all. Good luck Makayla!!!! Suzie, show us her successes if she sends photos! OR post them here, Makayla!!
I watch your show all the time. I've learned so much since watching you. I've also gotten much better with my own nails. Thank you so much for taking your time and explaining every step. Can't wait to see more videos from you. Wish you could upload every day.
You're so amazing! I noticed I was having issues when I had too much product touching my cuticle area or sides of the nail and skin. They'd always lift! I noticed it right away in the pictures too
The 1/3, 1/3, 1/3 rule is great! I heard it from you or someone else before I started doing my own. If I do good prep I can handle that length pretty well. I have a few nails on my dominant hand that are touchy. If I get a lift on them I usually end up with a greenie too. Then it’s everything off and regular nail polish until it’s all grown out! I tend to have super weak, thin, papery nails to start so I’ve really enjoyed wearing enhancements.
U are such a sweet kind human lol I would not have been able to explain that girls nails so kindly. U explain so kindly with out hurting her feelings. Ur so awesome
I have been so disappointed trying different products and my nails popping off or looking uneven. This channel is an eye opener. Love love what you’re doing. Great job!
Oh this is an amazing idea for a video. Please subscribers and suzie do more. I love the way you was explaining in such a nice positive way to teach as always 🙌
Not even joking my nail popped off this morning! And i was wondering what more i could do and 30 min later i see your video!!! Omgosh.. you are a life saver.
Thank you for the videos! They have helped me learn about my DIY mistakes. Thank you. I am doing PolyGel soon and leaving dry acrylic to use molds to press on based on other instructions to do and quicken my time at home.
How kind of you! You're always so extremely helpful, that's why you're one of my top 3 go-to's for when it comes to nails. All this time, and all these videos I see, never hearing of the 1/3, 1/3, 1/3 rule! It definitely makes sense, and I'm super thankful this video came out because I'm going to be doing my brother's girlfriend's nails. Her nail beds are shorter than one's I'm used to working on, so this information was very much needed. Thank you so so much for the time you put into teaching us! So very grateful for you! 😇💕
I Loved this,I loved this!!!!!!!! This cleared up SUCH a reoccurring issue after 3 maybe 4 days for me. I have small thin nailbeds also. Please continue this style of Q and A!!!!! Your the QUEEN Suzie!!!!!!!!!!!! 💥💓😌
Hi Suzie! Thank you so much for this video, it came at the perfect time 😍 I've been struggling with my gel polish lifting at the free edge for a while now and I got really frustrated. Extra tip: a nail tech friend just recommended to try and do each nail individually (if like me you tend to do multiple at once, since it's a simple overlay on my natural nails). The reason is that some gels "retract" and so even if you cap the edge, by the time you cure it, it has moved away.
Awe poor Mikaela...she is not alone....structure for me was the hardest and practice always made better...im still learning...also I think that it would help to try a different nail shape. Ive had clients with similiar nail shapes and what lasted better was coffin or tapered square that offers more coverage and stability for wide nail beds like hers. Suzie you da coolest as always!
Your review and support is awesome because if my manicure was left looking like that I would walk out or have them removed... but Suzie, I've been with you for years, now and you are the BEST ❣ 🥰 ❣😍 ❣
I'm a noob, so I'm still practicing on forms, but dual forms seem to be successful. I do have issues with my nails being a bit thick, but I file and shape them to what I'm comfortable. Thank you Suzie! ❤️❤️❤️
I think you should make this type of format a series! Trouble shooting issues with reference photos! Tons of things you could do… cuticle work, side notches, encapsulation etc!
Suzie, you're amazing! ☺️ I've never heard of this 1/3 rule. I have small natural nail plates and I think from this moment on, I will follow this rule. Thank you so much for this helpful info as always! 💜💜💜💜
This helped Michaela a lot but I bet a ton of other nail lovers also including me, it's going to make my nails look a lot better now, hopefully 😊. Thanks a lot for your gentle way of explaining, makes me not look 🥴.
These tips have really helped me, especially not washing my hands after doing cuticle care and buffing the nail plate. Now I just stick the brush bit onto my efile and use that to get the dust completely off, which satisfies my borderline ocd tendencies😅 One other thing that's helped my nails stay on is using a rubber base! I use the apres extend gel and put my hybrid gel right on top of that and haven't had a nail pop off since!
Excellent explanation and tutorial. I love the third, third, and third rule. It makes perfect sense to me. The explanation for the apex location made sense to me, which is something that I struggle with.
Many people has commented your ability to help others that are struggling and educate what they can to do fix the problem and I do agree 💯% I’ve have watched your videos for ever and learned so much. Thank you Suzie and camera man for amazing job how to combine education to the the videos and pictures. It is a lifesaver! 😊❤️ if you ever have a chance, please do your acrylic color of foundation pink color to the EZ Gel range! I absolutely love that color 🙏🏼
I'm so glad this came up in my feed, I have issues with hybrid gel too. I've been watching NCE for years and I use your prep tips for applying press ons. I can get 2 weeks of wear without them popping off!
I always come to your videos if I need to remind myself what to do, I started doing nails as I'm waiting for a couple operations and can't go out, after I have my first op I won't be able to go back to work but I'm hoping to maybe be able to visit patients in hospital that don't get visitors and maybe give them a simple manicure so I don't make them feel like they need to converse if they don't feel like it but still want company. I've seen so many elderly patients that don't have anyone when I've spent time (quite a bit) in hospitals and it's not right. I used to be a carer but can't lift anymore so thought I could maybe contribute by volunteering. Blessings from Scotland. 🙏 🏴 ❤️
Hello from Spain, I've always love watching your videos because of the exclamation of every step that you tell everyone. And it's like talking to children, you make it very easy to keep up and understand what your showing us. Could I ask, 'do you have a favour method of nail construction ' I know you always say your a acrylic girl through and through, is this still the case or have you found another method you love as much. Oh and the way the videos are visually shown, ie with the showing of the third third and third rule, the way they are edited to show where on the nail things should be is a great help, so your camera man is a brilliant help. Xxx
The best is still Acrylic sculpted on a form. It’s the strongest and easiest to work with once you master it. Custom built nails are still the best nail than any preformed tips - no hate on tips - they are cool - but all these nails are all trying to simulate the Ultimate being formed Custom nail
I’m having the same problem. I keep nail glue in my purse. Lol. But seriously. I have been dabbling in full coverage nails with gel base, color and top coat. According to this video, I think my problems lies with prep and filing around the cuticle before color- not a hundred percent sure. Im going to keep trying to figure this out. 😊 I’m hoping using a nail forms with gel will be a better direction to go. Love you Susie ❤ thanks for all you do.
Such a queen ❤️❤️❤️❤️ thank you Suzie!!!! So helpful really appreciate your knowledge I do my own hybrid gel all the time and watch your videos while I do it 😁
Susie, I've fallen in love with nails because of your absolutely amazing channel. I honestly am so appreciative of you sharing your expertise like this and FOR FREEE!? Girl, you're a love ❤️ Also, to Michaela/Mikayla (sorry I don't know the spelling), thank you so much for allowing your pictures to be shared, there's nothing quite as helpful as seeing the mistakes that I make myself all the time and how to fix them. Thank you!! Xx
Thank you for this awesome video! What a great way to show and teach. Please make more of these kinda problem-solving videos. They are so enlightening! I'm a newbie nail tech myself, and I really appreciate all your videos! One thing I struggle with is removing product when doing a fill (takes sooo long! Even with an e-file!) and shaping at the end (again, takes me sooo long!). Any tips on how to speed up these two aspects would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you so much for this video! I've been trying to get my hybrid nails back on (had to take them off for surgery 2 months ago), and had 3 of this last set pop off in 2 days.
This is so helpfull! I was thinking about an other issue she can have with her hands and this is the infamous "oily nails" or "sweatty hands". Maybe you can make an other video about those issues?
I have had clients with extremely sweaty hands and prep doesn't last. So I started dehydrating ans priming the nail I am currently working on. It helps tremendously!
I NEEEED YOU TO DO MY NAILS. JUST ONCE! I TRY SOOO HARD WITH HYBRID GEL AND IVE ALMOST GOT IT BUT I WANT THEM PERFECT. JUST ONCE. YOURS ARE ALWAYS GLORIOUS
After finding your videos, and some proper equipment like a good lamp and an e file my nails haven't popped off...now it's hard to get them off at all when I want to change them
Seeing you use alcohol on the brush to shape the hybrid gel has made a HUGE difference for me. Your videos are super helpful! I like using my efile super quick and efficient. I'm planning on experimenting with acrylic powders and monomer, wish me luck! I also have to work on my speed, I do my own nails and it takes me about 3 hours, well I've also had to re-do every single nail before using the proper base too.
You may already have a video about this but would love one for chipping gel nail polish. When mine chips it also takes some of my natural nail off making the nail break easier too
Looks like Makayla has same kind of bail beds as me, I have bother with gels, so I use acrylic as they last me upto 4-5wks as my nails grow really slowly. Great information there suzie thanks I might give it another try n do them the way you said see if it works 🤞❤💛
I have VERY oily nail beds (and skin, and scalp, lol). The saving grace for me is that I HAVE to go buff, alcohol, dehydrator, primer, then nail glue or polygel, etc. The primer is tacky and sticky and makes a huge difference for me personally.
Hello Suzy 👋 I have a Bachelors degree in Fine Art, and one of the first things you learn about is proportion. You might have heard about a little thing called “The Golden Mean” or “The Golden Ratio”. It’s something that was first discovered by Artists and Architects waaaay back in the Italian Renaissance (late 1500’s). Basically your “Rule of Thirds” is almost the same principle/proportion. I think it’s amazing that craftspeople from such different places and times can come up with almost the exact same solution to the problem of eye-pleasing proportions, weather it’s in Architecture or Human Anatomy 🤓 🤯
Such a helpful video - thank you so much! I now know where I've been going wrong - love the third third third rule, which you demonstrated perfectly 😍👍💅
Celebrating my Birthday 🥳🎉🎊😇🔥🎂🎂🎂😎📺👌🏼 thank you for being a wonderful motivator I lost my passion for nails based on in the '90s the money level was no longer as good as it used to be but I thank you for bringing it back to me. I hope you have a wonderful peaceful and fun week.
Holy cow, I was so entranced watching this! This was really informative. I wanted to get a Nail Tech license after high school but, then decided to do Aesthetics instead. I never seem to have time to do my own nails. I guess there's no harm in learning for the future! 😁
Actually you are an a fantastic position because I believe you’re aesthetic license will also allow you to work nails without having to re-license, this of course depends where you live. But if you ever do go into nails look into that and don’t relicense for just nails only save yourself the money just learn the technique
I love that you are addressing your viewer's nail problems! Would love to see more videos like this 🥰
I was thinking the same‼️ Not everyone is blessed with Suzie’s BEAUTIFUL nail beds I bet 1 viewers issue is 100 other viewers issue.
Good for you! Don’t take it personal. Everyone is different and nail beds are too
I love watching you break it down for learners!
Such calm vibes, hearing the story of you and camera man is so cute, love the cats, and such creative nails. wonderful channel.
🤣🤣🤣I love your planning a trashy drunk spa day - just as long as the service providers aren’t drinking your good👍🏼
Have fun
Thank you to Makayla for sharing the pictures! I love this type of tutorial video. I hope to see more of them with using pictures of viewers’ nails and how to help them with nail technique. I agree, I will do!
Suzie, you're amazing! ☺️
I've never heard of this 1/3 rule.
I have small natural nail plates and I think from this moment on, I will follow this rule.
Thank you so much for this helpful info as always!

Great video. Trying not to fall asleep bec your voice is so soothing.
Honestly I check EVERY video for quality before we upload. And I get it, after a busy day I will drift off. It even puts me to sleep

Oh good thinking - I never thought of that.
Maybe I should do a pink series of colours
@@NailCareerEducationfoundation pink looks the perfect color I’m looking for! Have a happy summer! ☀️
Just this is what i needed... i think my problem was (above the 3 third part) that i used different base and primer for my hybrid gel. Thanks Suzie🥰
I learn so much from your videos. Thank you for being so postive and give helpful suggestions to newbies in a way we all understand.
Such a great video. Thanks for sharing

I’m hoping using a nail forms with gel will be a better direction to go. Love you Susie ❤ thanks for all you do.
You are a great teacher 🥰🥰
Thank you girlzzz great video as always ❤❤❤
Thanks! Great info!
Thanks makayla, you’re awesome!!!
She is like Mr.Rogers of nails 💅 I love her
Such a queen ❤️❤️❤️❤️ thank you Suzie!!!! So helpful really appreciate your knowledge I do my own hybrid gel all the time and watch your videos while I do it 😁
Having the same problems. Thanks so much for posting!
thanks to you I learned a lot about nails, soon Im going to do my own nails and I cannot wait to send you pictures🥰 thank you Suzie☺️
Such a good question to answer ☺️🙌🏻
Susie, I've fallen in love with nails because of your absolutely amazing channel. I honestly am so appreciative of you sharing your expertise like this and FOR FREEE!? Girl, you're a love ❤️
Also, to Michaela/Mikayla (sorry I don't know the spelling), thank you so much for allowing your pictures to be shared, there's nothing quite as helpful as seeing the mistakes that I make myself all the time and how to fix them. Thank you!! Xx
How nice of you to thank Mikaela. Great to see us support together
two of my nails popped off the moment before this video was uploaded! thanks for the video!
Lol I hope this helps
Thank you. I've been a nail biter for 40 years and trying to get rid of this bad habit. Having beautiful fake nails help but there is a lot to learn.
Yes my friend grant bites his little nails and fake nail helps him break the habit 👍🏼
That’s an awesome tutorial.
I've been trying to get my hybrid nails back on (had to take them off for surgery 2 months ago), and had 3 of this last set pop off in 2 days.
thank you
Thnkz so much madam zuzie.....god blesss u alwys.....n fmily too ...
I would love to learn from you! I watch every video and I swear I'm never gonna to be able to do it as easily as you do. You're amazing
This is so helpfull!
I was thinking about an other issue she can have with her hands and this is the infamous "oily nails" or "sweatty hands".
Maybe you can make an other video about those issues?
i feel like she tackled that in proper prep and not letting your hands touch your prepped nail bed because you can transfer oils.
I have had clients with extremely sweaty hands and prep doesn't last. So I started dehydrating ans priming the nail I am currently working on. It helps tremendously!
Thank you!!saving ❤
I felt like I was in nail school again….1/3, 1/3, 1/3. Only you explain things so much better 💜 anyone that learns personally from you is very lucky 🍀
Literally, I've been watching Suzie for YEARS and Suzie is the BEST!
I NEEEED YOU TO DO MY NAILS. JUST ONCE! I TRY SOOO HARD WITH HYBRID GEL AND IVE ALMOST GOT IT BUT I WANT THEM PERFECT. JUST ONCE. YOURS ARE ALWAYS GLORIOUS
Thanks Beautiful!!!❤️💅
I love this episode. Please do more like it
After finding your videos, and some proper equipment like a good lamp and an e file my nails haven't popped off...now it's hard to get them off at all when I want to change them
You really can’t have it both ways
Just wonderful
Very helpful 👍
Thanks!!!
Right when I needed this! Thanks!
Yesssss this is the video i neededd!! Thankyou 😊
Nail beds not bail sorry lol🤣

Yes, I have heard of it - and your right. It is such a strong foundation of advice hasn’t changed. It’s just medium that changes 👍🏼💛
Such a helpful video - thank you so much! I now know where I've been going wrong - love the third third third rule, which you demonstrated perfectly 😍👍💅
Ya we’ve really lost that rule
Beyond helpful, thank you
Celebrating my Birthday 🥳🎉🎊😇🔥🎂🎂🎂😎📺👌🏼 thank you for being a wonderful motivator I lost my passion for nails based on in the '90s the money level was no longer as good as it used to be but I thank you for bringing it back to me. I hope you have a wonderful peaceful and fun week.
Great video!
You are such a lovely lady x
Great video! Great job!
This video is so helpful. I can quickly see I’m making similar mistakes and now I know how to correct them.
..thank you, Mikala...
