    The biggest pleasure for me when I play with dolls is playing with hair. Since childhood until now, I don’t know why 😅😂 I don’t know, I find pleasure in that. That’s why I find that this type of videos that you present to us is enjoyable and very useful with all the details. I would like to see more and more of them. Thank you for that. 😊🙏🏻💗💗💗

      Playing with hair can be soothing and relaxing. I know exactly what you mean. If a doll didn't have hair long enough to style, I didn't even want it 😆 but these days I am more tolerant of shorter hair styles on dolls.

    I always love your videos Gypsie, they’re so informative and you’re really personable 😊 I subscribed a looooooong time ago after one video of yours where you were talking about perceptions about adult doll collectors, and I was like…. OMG, I feel SEEN, I must subscribe NOW😂 I’m really glad to see you back in the doll space! I did not know about directional rooting but I’ve taken down a few ponytails on expensive dolls and had Major Regret because the hair just… didn’t work once it was down. It was meant to be in an updo and I couldn’t make it work lying flat. I think the updos in curly hair tend to work a bit better down than the ones in straight hair because the texture camouflages better that the hairstyle was meant to go in the opposite direction. Anyway, thanks for a great video, looking forward to seeing how you style the textured hair in twists!

      I'm glad to hear that video helped you to be seen. It always breaks my heart to hear people complaining about their loved ones or even strangers judging them for liking dolls. It is such a harmless hobby. Thank you for sticking around this long and sharing your thoughts with our little community here. Have a dolly day!

    I have the same dolls, kept Asha's ponytail. Christie got braids now, Claudette' buns let down and styled as waves. Fashionista's hair become wavy straight 😂. Asha look many shades lighter than in reality. Your dolls are stunning beauties❤.

    Out of these 4, I have the BMR Claudette, who I named Claude after the princess in Reign. These deep dives are illuminating. I haven't taken down any intricate hairstyles, just some ponytails, and it's been frustrating enough so far, so anything more serious I can't handle - so I love being able to satisfy my curiosity with these videos!
    Fun video!

      I'm glad to make my dollies play guinea pig to our curiosities about their hair. the suspense ends up making me take risks. LOL

    I still haven't even unboxed this Claudette of mine...because my intention was to reroot her. I am happy she has some balding😅 because l am going to poke in some dark strands into those areas anyway because l don't like the full pink/purple as it is. Excellent video!!!!

      If I wasn't too lazy, I would do exactly this to fix her up. I bet yours will turn out lovely.

    I have the yellow top and took her hair down after seeing that first video - she became a flapper girl and her hairstyle down works great for that style.
    I love rerooting, very therapeutic for me.

      Oooh! I can see her with a flapper style. What a great idea.

      I think the Mbili face sculpt is perfect for 1920s/30s jazz singers. One day I will dress one to go with my Jazz Baby dolls (I have the dancers but not the MC or singer in the set)

    My middle name is Simone😂...it is a very common name in Jamaica! My first name is even less common....Shoshana.

    • @BrokenDollyTV
      @BrokenDollyTV  หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Yes! Another Simone! I feel like I'm collecting Simones now. 🤣🤣🤣 Shoshana is a name I've only heard on TV.

    • @Misslou2425
      @Misslou2425 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @BrokenDollyTV me too....Jerry Seinfeld had an ex named Shoshana. And l think some laywer...somewhere had the name. Many variations in the American culture though....Tashana...sashana...Trishana...etc. But the original Hebrew name ( Shoshana: lily/rose...l don't hear much.)

    My favorite hairstyle for my dolls is the Ariana ponytail. BTW, have you ever tried curling dolls' hair with straws and pipe cleaners?

      Sure have... in my previous upload on doll hair, I showed some results of hair I've curled that way. But all the pretty curls dropped out and I got too lazy to fix them. 😟

    Your dolls look 100% better with their hair down. I am love with your Bunny. The plain hairstyle accentuates her high cheekbones of the Claudette sculpt which is rare. I hesitated to get her because I hated her fashions and I did not like the space buns. Now I regret not getting her.
    Thanks for the shout out! My parents wanted a boy, Simon, but they got me, Simone. Now I am non binary. C’est la vie.

      When I was pregnant with my daughter, my husband said, "if she was a boy I would have said name her Jackson." So I told him, let's just add on that name and change the spelling. So she was named Jaxin. 😆 she's 13 now and a total tomboy.
      The only thing about the bmr claudette that I don't like is her pixel face. Her eyes are so empty. 🤣

    Hi Gypsie! I'm a long time viewer but this is my first time commenting. I was wondering could you make a video breaking down the different skin tones of Barbies and their made to move matches? Maybe do it in categories like deep to light

    • @BrokenDollyTV
      @BrokenDollyTV  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey there! I'm glad you left a comment... I like to know what my viewers are struggling with or wondering about. I was thinking about this idea already for a while now. I'm realizing that made to move dolls are being made in many skin tones now, and a lot of them are what I call "in between" shades, so they don't exactly match specific tones but rather, a multitude of shades can "get away" with that body. Once I figure out a cohesive way to organize the skin tones, I will do a video on this. I just know it will take me a bit of time to go thru my stash and separate the skin tones i have, in order to show you guys the examples. Thank you for the request, i've written it down on my list of questions to find answers to for you guys.

    I enjoyed watching your video.❤ I wish I could style my Barbie's hair the way you did. I am a paraplegic woman, and my hands have limited use for doing just regular things.🧑‍🦼 I really enjoyed watching your videos and listening to your voice. 😊 You say it like it is! Have a wonderful day in your Barbie universe! 🎉🎉

      I'm sorry to hear you're limited in what interactions you can enjoy with your dollies. I'm sure their beautiful faces still bring you joy, nonetheless. Sometimes we live vicariously through social media accounts, like I do when I wanna see a doll transformed through repainting the face or rerooting the hair. I'm frankly too lazy to bother doing it to my own dolls. 😁 thanks for hanging out here with us. Have a dolly day!

    i have "Brilliant". i really bought her for her clothing and accessories, but i tried to like that doll.
    i took her hair down almost immediately after opening her box.
    She has VERY nice hair, but i just couldn't connect with the doll. i'm a fan of the Shani sculpt, but the face paint is too flat for me. ... So she ended up in storage.

      🤣 I feel u, some dolls just don't speak to us as collectors. Brilliant is one like that for me too. Her eyes are too wide open, she feels like a characauture of a happy cartoon girl or something. She almost never gets displayed unless I have her grouped with the other rewind dolls.
