Barbie Looks Wave 4- First Look and thoughts on Model #20, #24 & #25/ Andra, Simone and AA Ken

- Long time no see friends, let's discuss my honest views on the latest wave of barbie looks dolls from Mattel. We look at 3 of the 6 dolls available in this current line together. Do you agree with my ideas or feel differently? Tell us in the comments section.
Gypsy, love this review! Looks Daphne is gorge and I can’t wait to get her. I also agree 1000% about the skin tone issue with the Looks male dolls. There are so few male MTM’s to begin with - why won’t Mattel give us different skin tones for the few they produce? The new Buff Ken is the same tone as Jon from Looks Wave 1, and I have so many male Fashionistas with lighter brown skin tones that need new bodies. Why won’t you give us what we want, Mattel? 😕
I'm was also annoyed over his skintone, I fully expected him to be that lighter AA skintone too until I got him in person. Having him stand next to "Jon" doesn't feel very diverse. They really need to include Ken in the Made to Move yoga line so we can get more access to them.
The Simone sculpt was used for the Turquoise doll in the Crystal/Gemstone Collection. Stunner too.

Congratulations (under the circumstances) on your announcement. I was concerned about you in previous videos when you mentioned you had diabetes that wasn’t well controlled. I hope you have good health care and work with your doctor to manage this during your pregnancy.
As a retired pharmacist, I know that complications that can happen when moms have diabetes. Some women have to go on insulin, like a former coworker of mine who was overweight but not even diabetic before pregnancy. I saw the effort she had to put into monitoring her blood glucose multiple times a day, timing and watching the content of her meals, and injecting insulin. But everyone was healthy in the end.
I know you said it’s harder for you because of being on the autism spectrum, but I am hoping if you understand how important it is that you can stay focused. I wish you the best.
The first Simone released is one of my fav barbies EVER so when they released this new one I was so excited! Shes also gorgeous. I also picked up the petite one and am excited for her too.
Literally my mindset when I saw the second version of Simone. It was a bold move giving her bangs and light complexion but it worked out really well. Very unique, just like the first one.

I have 21,24,and 25. I am so loving the Simone sculpt. She is a ravishing beauty. I almost didn't want her at first. Then I took a closer look and decided to buy her. I named her "Aïda" after the Verdi opera. I haven't named the other 2 yet. It's harder to name my 25 than the other Looks men doll. Number 20 is giving me "Scooby-Doo" vibes. As for my 21,I'm giving myself some extra time to name the perfect name.
Aida is such a great name for her! I haven't decided on names yet for any of mine. Gotta put some thought into it.

This was a fun video! I got the same Ken and the petite Victoria. I'll wait for a sale to get any of the others. I'm so curious to see how Andra looks in a darker skintone if they ever do that. Great choices, by the way! They're all 3 gorgeous. Thanks for sharing!

I have missed your doll content so much! You are so right about mid brown skin tones for the kens. I am trying to rebody so many kens and it has been frustrating since action figures are dark brown, and there is no mid tones for my kens! And I really want slim articulated bodies…We have an over representation of 6 packs and honestly it’s not very realistic.

Congrats on the new addition to your family. Yes, they really need to make a male mtm with medium brown skin. I think the redhead might be my favorite from this line. I donated my Looks doll with the platinum pixie cut, got her for the face but wasn't vibing with the edginess, but the long red hair and softer makeup is more my speed.

Yes I love him my son is dark with silky curly hair, being multi mix you can get anything, so I was so happy to get him. I love when Mattel keeps making all types of gorgeous people

Yeah I have to get totally different faces and Mattel did a great job
I for one was delighted that he had the same skintone as Jon. It was a major selling point for me, in fact. The Jons as a whole had a bad case of wonky-face, and a worse case of soulless eyes if they weren't misprinted (similar to the dull, lifeless eyes that the curvy in this wave has). Unless you could inspect in-person or were willing to accept a bad face, it rendered them unbuyable. But these new Kens have no prevailing misprint issues! In addition to the buff body, it makes them much better than the Jons. Honestly, a few of the gals in the new wave (the blonde and the petite, mainly) have pretty bad wonky-face that is also keeping me from buying. Might have to get that redhead, though!
I gotta agree on your assessment of job. Yikes. I don't even display mine. Plus the new Ken's face is a popular sculpt that is harder for people to find if they missed previous mal dolls with his sculpt.

Great picks! Ive been gravitating to Simone to start with, and she reminds me of Niki Minaj. And also BMR 1959 purple bantu knots, orane top and skirt, strangely reminds me of Teyonna Taylor. What do you think? They are all great!
Yeah, they have those vibes for sure, attitude for days 😁 i like them both and restyling them is a lot of fun. Our imagination is the limit, truly.
Wave 4 of the Barbie Looks line looks amazing. My personal must haves are No.20, 22, and 24.

I got the Andra too & the blonde Lina...I agree that the short hair girls are a bummer. I like long hair. Why not just give them long hair & let people cut it. But I guess, not everyone can cut & style hair.

I no longer have fash 26 in my collection, but based on pix and my memory, I think looks 24 is either the same or a very similar complexion for sure. She can probably get away with a body swap and it shouldn't be an obvious difference.

Honestly the first wave and the second wave was perfect!! Tbh . The 3rd wave and the 4th wave were kinda weak in my opinion. They definitely put less effort into this wave and then they wanna charge 25 dollars ! The other waves were 22 bucks at most. I’m gonna wait for these to go on sale then get a few of them . I’m definitely getting the black girl with braids and the petite short girl with short hair. I definitely plan to reroot her . Her face sculpt is beautiful 😍. I feel like they could’ve made better outfits for the thick curvy Barbie and they could’ve given her better bangs . They look flat and straw like . I would’ve preferred a round bang or a bang with more volume. As for the Ken his body is nice but his hair is horrible! Like I’ve seen other doll collectors redo his hair or head swap him . I feel like these last two wave were just executed poorly. I’m definitely gonna wait to they go on sale . ✨✨✨ Also congratulations on ur bundle of joy ✨✨
