Funny you should mention Rod's draught of Planet of the Apes because I'm sure it "was" a Twilight Zone episode first before being made into the expanded film version. Am I right or am I mistaken? What's the story there?
I saw the Jodorowsky Dune documentary and I was greatly moved. It was such a beautiful vision. I will have to check out Gibson's Alien 3. I've read so much about it, but it would be quite a treat to see what his vision was like. Thanks for sharing this! I would have likely never known about it otherwise! :)
And now for something completely different: My older sister wasn't much of an SF fan, but I saw "Podkayne of Mars" in her small library of interesting books. (I only now noticed the book on your bookshelf.;)
I love both, Gibson is one of my favorite scifi writers and Alien 3 the film one of my favorite films. The gibson comic/audiobook is pretty decent, it is VERY different to alien 3 film, but its certainly interesting.

Yeah, it's a great time to be alive! So many cheap or even free apps/programs that budding creators can use to make things that even 20 years ago would have been unthinkable. Will have to come up with a list of ones that are free/cheap and post them here sometime. :)
(Reading article...) Man, he killed off Hicks and Ripley, too! What was with everyone wanting to kill off these characters?! Marc: do you think it was because they just couldn't easily come up with something that included them in the story along with Ripley? It sounds to me like they just weren't familiar enough with the mythos/background of Alien/Aliens and were just trying to trim it down to where it was just Ripley in the story. What do you think, Marc? (And you too, Raymond! :) )
I recently listened to the Audible radio play version of Alien 3 and it was a lot of fun, even if it was Ripley light. It was still better than what we got.
10 for Star Wars, on a truly massive cinema screen with sound at the Dolby levels ( turned down soon after opening week, because people in the surrounding buildings had things fall off the walls), and 3 years later Alien, in the same massive cinema. Now closed, converted into a convention centre.
I only just got the notification for this video "today" despite the bell icon being active and has been active since before the Space Command campaign began. Way to go TH-cam. (Staffed by incompetent twats😠)
I heard that the studio and not Sigourney Weaver want her as the lead. In their eyes she was the face of the franchise, Ripley was one of the few major female action heroine major cash cow. Weaver only signed on if they killed Ripley off because she thought it was best for the franchise, sadly like Micheal Corleone they kept pulling her back in.
*_...for Aliens X, I'd suppose their day would come when they arrive close-enough to send-ahead messengers... but those, were their unstealable steeds and guard dogs... maybe too much realism too soon; Hollywood prefers sequels that milk the audiences, (like I'd have Matrix X waking up that it was all Neo's experiment to test a theory about 'cyberpunking' but a waker always wants to go back to the girl-in-his-dream... you see it: the outside dived-in but they got stuck-under-the-ice)..._*

I like Alien³, much more than Aliens.Alien³ had poetry i dig it.That being said, i LOVE Gibson's work so i want to see his version of it.
