Just spitballing here. What if you reversed that mount, and slid that transducer under the open gap in the hull . Almost 180 degrees of what it is now. That would move the transducer out of the wake, and shield it from hanging up on weeds, and being broken at the dock .
So multiple entry points for water to e tir the hull but no easy drain solution????? Its very easy to drill a hole in the back of a craft and seal it. I'd be putting drainage bongs in the back

I agree or they could have eliminated the bend in the rod and ran in straight down.

drill bit was too big for the screws yet you made believe that it was fine?
