I literally just big chopped my hair this morning and my mom doesn't support it. she's disappointed but tbh, I really don't give af. This is MY hair journey and I love my little curls. Your hair is sooo goregous and I'm so happy to continue this hair journey with you.

Yep! I did the big chop, I was happy! At first I wasn't comfortable with my length, but now I love it. If you're not comfortable with your length when you chop, you could wear some stylish silk turbans until you're comfortable. This is your journey, so what you think of yourself and your beautiful hair is all that matters, don't go into it blindly, do research. You'll do a great job caring for your hair, the embarrassment and nervousness will subside. Best of luck to you, my love.

Austin Peewwaarss this was so me in high school... reason why I held out doing it for so long. Looking back now, their opinions wouldn't have mattered to me and my hair would have been years past this process and much longer if I would've been cut it. If they have something to say then they have nothing better to worry about, especially if it's something you want to do and they are just being negative. That's how I wish I would've looked at it during that time ❤️
Ikr .. I'm entering senior year .. In August 2017 and I am currently transitioning but I just want to cut it all off and grow it back out natural instead .. but my mother says no and people at school are ignorant idiots that can't worry about themselves .. I'm gonna do it anyway but I know my mother gonna be furious OH WELL my hair my choice Right .

I think you're even more beautiful with short hair. Shows those beautiful features more. You made a great choice. Forget the negative comments because in the famous words of James Brown..."You can't please everybody and still stay on top!!!" lol. I know it wasn't easy, but the results were worth the chop. Same with me. Cantu, Shea moisture, Cream of nature never worked out for me. DevaCurl Decadence line, and their styling products or so bomb for my hair. Same goes for Curl Keeper, and Mielle Organics. Those three are my staple products.

I lately shaved my head like 4 days ago and honestly I'm loving it. My hair was really really bad. It was so so thin, and my edges was gone. I was trying to grow them back but it was taking longer. And I just keep doing weaves so I decided that shaving my head was the greatest decision for me hair wise. I also use to get extreme headache. Extreme headaches. Now I'm looking for great products to help my hair through my hair journey. Everyone thinks I'm crazy for shaving but then again I did this my my hair and for myself. If you don't like it then sorry not sorry.

You actually inspired me to go ahead and just shave my almost waist length hair off 3 weeks ago! It was so damaged and broken off in areas that I just did not see the point in hanging on to it any longer. I felt like this great freedom afterwards !

Remember if you start taking hair vitamins (biotin) drink 2000ml plus because biotin is a water vitamin and because it's in such a large quantity it will break you out if you don't do that😊❤️

Your hair is beautiful. I want to chop mine sooo bad. I've never had hair this short tho. I don't want to transition again either. I'm 3 years natural and my hair is down my back but, it's breaking, single strand knots everywhere and dry. When I slide my finger down my hair strands it feels "bumpy" or "rough". I know chopping will just get rid of that damage hair. Cause, it can't be repaired. It's my fault for moisturizing once a week like an idiot. And, being a lazy natural. I don't know what to do at this point. And, I also want to dye my hair a dark red. But, I haven't had a Chemical in it in 3 years. 😢😩

i last got a perm on the 16th of January 2k16. At first I wanted to transition so I had boxbraids in for most of the times. In september I was so tired of waiting so I decided to take of my boxbraids and cut the all relaxed ends off.
My hair was about 5 centimeters then. My hair started growing much faster. My hair is about 10 centimers now.
I have never felt this happy with my hair.
So there's no need to worry cuz your hair is going to grow even faster when you big chop and trust me you will feel amazing. Like really.

I tried those biotin pills. And it was very clear that I wasn't drinking enough water. As it gave me very cystic acne along my chin. I had to stop taking them. And although I haven't tried the aussie products(just bought the deep conditioner and hair insurance a few weeks ago) just yet, I can tell they are great products that did wonders for your hair. And have to say your hair is truly gorgeous.
I've always loved full bodied curls. Kind of part of the reason I did the big chop/shaved to bald myself 3 months ago. But mine was mostly too much damage from relaxers and hot tools. And for sure it's been a journey figuring out my porosity and texture. Heck even figuring out which products my hair just likes, loves, or issa no to. But it's been fun. Keep up the good growth.
You're so brave to cut your hair! I've always wanted to cut mine but I'm still working on building the nerve. I see you're trying to figure out what products to use on your hair. You should take a porosity test! There are a good amount of videos and natural hair articles on what hair porosity is and how to take the test. I have a video on my channel that can be beneficial for you on your hair journey. I transitioned about 7 years ago but I've finally got the hang on what truly works on my hair beyond a curly pattern. My channel isn't dedicated to hair but I do post videos here and there to help out.

Lush Henna blocks are super easy to use and it wouldn't damage your hair like dye.
